I would bet the likelihood of a PC port depends 100% on the 360/PS3 sales figures.
also lol at console elitsim

So implement a good anti cheat program with the online play and patch it accordingly?
Can they do that? Don’t most pc games just use the same online protocols they have for years (that can be hacked), while console players are the ones who have whatever people made their system watching them like hawks for cheating or dropped games? Kinda like posting guards on decent people without criminal records, and letting people with mile-long lists of previous criminal offenses just run around unchecked.
Meh look at Valve stuff. It works.
You can get a 360 with the tiny HD for like 170 bucks now, and I expect the console prices to drop after X-Mas.
Get a job and buy a damned console if you are hardcore about fighting games. Most of them ain’t gonna be put on PC for reasons listed above (piracy and gameplay hacks).
This would never happen.
I would bet that 98% of this forum has a console.
That doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t also want a PC version. It’s not that hard to understand.
PS: I have never ran into an online “gameplay hack” for any PC fighter I’ve ever played. This includes PC SFIV.
I agree that most of this forum has at east one console. I don’t personally agree that most woud buy a console version AND a PC copy. Most folks agree that Xbox Live > PSN > PC in terms of online gaming for fighters (You can flip PSN and Xbox LIve all you want, but they’re both better than playing on PCs).
Seriously, if you are that hyped about this game that you are on a forum about it 6+ months in advance, pony up and buy a damn console. Most folks on SRK drop the cost of a console on personalizing their damn arcade stick.
Quoted for truth. Console piracy>>>>> Pc piracy. Wii is like the most successful game console and the easiest to hack but does that stop it or its games from making WAD’s of money. No. Xbox is piss easy to mod but its still raking in the dough. PC gaming is making money too … on steam. The features steam offers and the discounts they offer there games at has people who would usually pirate games buying them for steam features. Most Pirates who bootlegg games wouldnt have bought the game otherwise so the money in most cases really isnt lost. That being said It wouldnt hurt to make a pc version Capcom is like every other company these days. Develops on easy bake xbox / ports over to ps3/pc so its not like its a cost issue.
I wasn’t making that argument. I’m saying “just get a console” is not a good reason to deny a PC version because most of the people [in this thread] HAVE a console.
But you just
Can you not
Xbox piracy gets you banned though, so its not as desirable. Gotta have that online play. Modded Wii’s let you cheat online and shit its hilarious. One time my friend was using infinite lightning in Mario Kart just to troll people.
I dont know why they dont release this game just for steam without gfwl…
Thing is GFWL is complete garbage. It’s so easy to play pirate games that use it. If they went with Steam the piracy would be cut down. Same applies to Punkbuster. What’s the sense of playing a fighting game without online play? But for whatever retarded reason they reject those options.
And SFIV sold very well even with gfwl, is very weird why they dont choose steam, i’m gonna buy a new pc soon and its lame i’m not gonna enjoy mvc3…
Nope
I bought SF4 through Steam just for the custom skins being made, the community here has much better skins than Capcom offers. I’d buy MvC3 on the PC just to see what kind of shit people could come up with.
Hell, since people are figuring out how to port SSF4 skins into SF4, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone ripped Morrigan from the 360 version and threw her in with Ryu’s moveset.
Damn near every game that’s come out since Tekken 5 needs less than a month of work and a fraction of the cash needed to port it to consoles to release on pc, due to being developed on pc’s that run windows xp. Wtf is the problem? While I have console ports of games, I WOULD like the option to buy a slightly cheaper, much higher-res pc version for like 30 bucks or so.
I think they will release it on pc like a year down the road when they have milked console sales a lot and console people won’t skip buying the game completely due to piracy. Until then they would have to pretend they can’t do it though.
Because PC piracy doesn’t just hurt PC sales. It cannibalizes console sales as well, which is where the vast majority of the sales are in the first place.
Capcom is a profit seeking organization, just like any other. If they could make more money by making these PC ports than by not making them, then they would be doing it. But they aren’t. Because it isn’t.
I read this as ‘I want the game for half price!’
