PC Street Fighter 4 benchmark tool released

depends on what the software is looking for. Alot of games bench mark utilities dont pull back your actual clock speed, but the speed at which the processor is rated.

Its not that they arent good. Its that they price gouge the shit out of you for them. That is why I build my own.

Check the refresh rate of your monitor. Right click desktop >properties>settings>advanced>monitor

check your refresh rate, some monitors do run at 75-100hz refresh rate.

so tick it down to 60.

If you are on a CRT, this can be annoying because for normal PC use, a 60hz refresh rate can be picked up by your eyes and cause eye strain(75 is the sweet spot on a crt). On an LCD the refresh rate is un noticable to your eyes, during normal use.

'xcept they’re not.
You just have to know what to chose. I may have paid 200$ more than what i would have paid for the components without the liquid cooling and the mounting.
Considering i know nothing about liquid cooling and the rig is one of the most stable i’ve ever seen (no compatibility issues since they make their own stuff > alienware motherboard), i think it isn’t that expensive at all to pay just a bit more for their know-how.
I know what i’m talking about, i’ve run an internet cafe and used to mount the rigs myself.

Gotcha, makes sense. Thanks man.

I think my HP Slimeline PC’s GC cannot be upgraded…I think I have the S3300t

According to : "http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01364443&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN"
You have a free PCI X16 Slot.
The Power Supply Unit might not be able to handle the better Graphics Cards.

So, what would my options be or am I shit out of luck? I know nothing about this. Thanks

Buy a beefier power supply and replace the one in the system. So, you’re still in luck. You just need to do some tinkering on the inside. Depending on the case, you may need to get a smaller PSU, which means more expensive:confused:

wow, lol. I just want to play SFIV & no other game on my PC…sucks

well if alienware was only 200 bucks more I wouldnt bother building my own maybe with a couple of the lower tier systems this may be the case (I havent looked at alienwares prices recently) but not with their performance systems, they (like most companies) rape you for RAM and Graphic card selections along with overpriced little nuances(that you are forced to get, wouldnt be too bad if you could buy barebones from them). The only boutiques that come close with darn near do it yourself prices is cyberpowerpc and ibuypower. The thing alienware has over these places is assembly quality. The parts you get at alienware are top of the line don’t get me wrong, but don’t think for a minute that they are somehow, better than top of the line products you can buy and assemble for much cheaper.

I guess it comes down to if you have the time effort and desire to build its the better option, if you don’t, buy online.

Few years ago I found Alienware’s desktop cases to be beautiful. Now I really find them unefficient compared to today’s standards - definitely not worth paying the extra bucks compared to a TJ-07 or an ATCS 840 imho.

yeah well his laptop is at 50hz so i don’t see that making a difference for him.

A rig that costs you $3,000 from alienware - you can buy all the parts yourself and put it together for half the price. No Joke.

Who said i paid 3000$
Like i said, you can take the price of the components from my rig at the time with no liquid cooling system, add 200$ and that’s it.
I usually read a lot, compare prices from several good online stores and specialized stores in town, and i can assure you that if you select your components well ie not going overboard putting 3 GPUs and the last CPU (which would cost you your arms and legs) then you’ll get a great rig for a reasonable cost.
Of course you can probably mount a better one yourself if you know really well what you’re doing, if you know the stores to get your stuff, if you have the spare time to mount it well and if you’re lucky enough to not have compatibility issues on your hardware.

Anyway, i won’t add anything on that matter after this message, don’t wanna hijack the thread

@Sahykoh: yeah, i was really impressed by the quality of the game when i saw it on my comp… Too bad it’s not that gorgeous on 360, i probably won’t be buying it for pc.

I <3 that guy who benchmarked and posted a screenshot of his score running an Alienware computer at 640x480 resolution.

In fact, all of you guys are irritating me with these posted benchmarks with random settings and random resolutions. The only thing we can count on here for comparison purposes is default settings. Otherwise I really don’t see how you can expect anyone else to care.

Maybe changing the resolution to your monitors native, or whatever it is you plan to play at. But dropping down to 640x480 or 1024x768 just to get a better score isn’t going to help anyone. You can’t possibly want to play the game at those resolutions. Unless you have a 15" monitor.

Don’t “that guy” me dude.
This was merely a fun answer to the guy that posted his “high score” which was 40k and said no one could beat it…
If i was to play SFIV, i’d play in 1680x1050 AA2X.
I’ll post my real scores if you want.

Woot, Im ready to go.

Now if I just had the money to actualy buy the game…

Yeah, I’m really impressed with your score at that resolution.
