hey, can someone post a comparison picture of no AA and C16xAA?
i want to see if its worth the decrease in performance
(would it be better to lower the resolution to get higher AA? or stay at high resolution, but no AA?)

Not much details on the Street Fighter models anyway so at 1600x1200 and upwards you don’t even need AA at all IMO.
Somebody do me a favor and underclock/overclock their CPU and see what happens.
I get really weird results from this bench utility.
E5200 @ 3ghz = 52.08fps
E5200 @ 2.8ghz = 55.54fps
E5200 @ 2.625ghz = 59.5fps
E5200 @ 2.5ghz = 62.45fps
E5200 @ 2.375ghz = 65.71fps
E5200 @ 2.087ghz = 74.73fps
Stock speed is 2.5ghz, something is fucked up.
Here is me playing with settings trying to see how everything is effected. This is in order from best to worst. Oddly, with Vsynch on and default texture filtering I got less points but more FPS than when I had Vsynch on and 16x texture filtering.
If anyone has any idea’s as to how I can improve my results any further it would be a great help. Is AA,vsynch and texture filtering recommended?
my PC:
AMD athlon x2 4200+ (OC’d from 2.2 to 2.4)
4gb DDR2 800 dual channel
Radeon X1950 XTX 512mb
XP Pro SP3 (32bit)
Max Resolution-Max Settings-No AA-No Vsynch-Default Texture Filter
Max Resolution-Max Settings-No AA-No Vsynch-16x Texture Filter
Max Resolution-Max Settings-No AA-Yes Vsynch-16x Texture Filter
Max Resolution-Max Settings-No AA-Yes Vsynch-default Texture Filter
Max Resolution-Mac Settings-Yes AA2-No Vsynch-Default Texture Filter
Does anyone think a GeForce 9800GT 512mb would help a lot? I have a friend wanting to sell one to me for cheap.
Yes, go for it. But remember, you can get new 9800GT’s for $99, don’t get ripped off.
I’m running Vista Ultimate 64bit with the following specs :
E8500 @ 4.0Ghz
8GB PC2-6400 DDR2
DFI LanParty X48-T2R
EVGA GeForce GTX 260 SC 896MB
Runs everything great but really I don’t think you need anything like that for this game. In task manager, the benchmark never used over 500MB of RAM so if you’re only gonna play SFIV I’d say 2GB is more than enough.
(Btw, if anyone wants to change to Vista Ultimate 64bit I have 2 legit and unused keys spare, willing to let them go for pretty cheap (35 each, key only), PM me if ur interested)

Q6600 at 3.0.
everything on high and full AF/AA, No Vsync ofc
anyone ever tried this gpu?
here some reviews:
do you think that i ll have some improvement in terms of FPS with my pc?:

Well my rig is one year and a half old, didn’t expect the score to not be beaten ^^
Still i’m pretty happy i can play games with full settings one year and a half after i bought it without having changed anything in it.
lol yeah, sf4 is awesome like that…
i just posted it out of stupidity ^^
So what’s the advantage of buying from STEAM then buying the retail DVD-ROM in stores?
http://www.cdwow.com.au/games/Windows/Street-Fighter-IV/product/view/6274957
I’ve heard that its usually a tiny bit cheaper than buying in retail stores.
Getting the game from STEAM means you can download it to any computer and play it anywhere. All you have to do is log in to steam and you’ll be able to download and play it on the computer you’re using. No having to lug around the dvd! =) If you want to have a disc copy there’s a disc backup feature.
On the flip side, you may or may not be able to play it when your internet is down and you can’t login to steam, but I think they have an offline mode for that? I’m not sure - my internet is always working so I haven’t tried.
yea it does have an offline mode, but im not sure on how exactly it works
you basically log on steam first, and go in the game properties, play offline. Its kinda stupid because if you dont have internet, you cant really set it offline unless you know ahead of time you’ll be somewhere where there isnt any internet.
For you folks planning on upgrading there is this nice article at anandtech that discuss the best performance cards for the price range (june edition):
http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3588
Apparently ATI cards are better choice for the money at the lower end. nVidia does get better at the high end.
There is also this handy chart from toms hardware, that ranks all the cards by their performance in several games. This is the one for all games, all modes, 0-200$ price range:
Looking at those numbers I would go for the radeon 4850 (best performance/cost ratio). 9800 and the GTS 250 do look like good buys.
The 9600 GT is pretty good also.
Seriously, steam is a pain in the ass. If you can avoid it, do it.
