indeed it does.
What’s your budget?
It’s basically ATI 4850 vs NVIDIA GTS 250 for just over $120-$140 bucks (they both perform about the same) as good price/performance ratio. GTS 250 is slightly cheaper right now on NewEgg.
GTS 250s in order of rating:

The XFX ones (they both have Nvidia and ATI products) have lifetime and sometimes double lifetime warranties so that sounds awesome.
Well, I never game on my PC unless u count 2DF/GGPO, but I want something decent, not too expensive. I soley game on my consoles, but I want this on the PC, so I can free up a TV.
9800gt, 4870 or gts 260 is a good choice for value and performance
What’s your budget?
You can probably find a used 8800GT/9800GT for under 100 bucks but then its used. or 9600GT for around 80-90 bucks. tonylew84 got an A on his 9600GT: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=6906308&postcount=168
Thanks! These are all Nvidia, yes? I may do the 9800GT
Did you happen to try it out on this machine?
I got a 9600 pro, Athlon 3200+ and there is sound but no picture. Just wondering what your results are since these are similar rigs.
yeah they are all nvidia.
I’m not really familiar with ATI cards below 4850s so I’m not sure what the ATI equivalent of a 9800GT is.
cool, thanks…will look into further.
the ATI equivalent of a 9800GT is the 4830.
wow 4830s look pretty damn cheap too:

Can’t beat sub $100 price (after instant rebate) and benchmarks look like they are a nudge better than 9800GT.
A 9600GT is more than enough for this game and will run it fully maxed out at decent resolutions.
The only thing an 8500GT can run maxed out is notepad
er…don’t chuck on v-sync
its a benchmark, and you won’t get the results you needed seeing as it restricts the framerate to your monitors refresh rate
so its better putting your settings higher to slow it down, than vsync (use that when the game comes out)
lol…

Anyone have a problem running full screen? When I choose to start the benchmark at full screen the screen just goes blank, there’s sound from the announcer only, and that’s it.
It’s a bug, turn off anti-aliasing or use one of the Coverage types (C8XAA etc) instead. Or you could install Nvidia 186.xx beta drivers and it fixes it.
the benchmarking program is chrashing on start-up for some reason. might be a driver issue, something i haven’t exactly updated in a LONG time, but i am going to try to update drivers and/or install a 6800 i have laying around. see how that goes.
