PC: SSF4 AE - How is it online?

There is a framerate issue. My screen tears and ive tried every setting and resolution. I want a refund seriously. My xbox plugged into the same monitor has no issues. My comp isn’t the issue either, (470 gtx i7)

If by menu lag you mean GFWL applications lag of hell - then i’m with you on this one. I thought you can’t go any worse from Vanilla GFWL features (have nothing else to compare with, since i only have played Street Fighter on GFWL).

Did you try activating vsync from the config.ini file and then start the game?

And you’re delusional if you think everyone has the same issues you do. This thread is full of positive experiences, and Marn and Arturo have both praised the PC version in their tweets. In fact when they played each other, Marn said that it was like playing offline.

If you have proper hw and connection, this is by far the best iteration of SF4, and the closest to offline possible.

Well for me, at the beginning I had online issues even when the benchmark indicated “A” with 112fps average in 1080p mode. I had always some lag during matches. First I thought that was my wife using Facebook software that caused the laggy versus, but even after she turned off the facebook thing, it was still the same. For Information, I live in France.

My configuration :

Laptop DELL XPS Studio 16’'
Windows 7 64bits, 4Gb RAM
Intel Core i7 620M
ATI Radeon HD 4670
Game runs in 720p resolution
My internet connexion is an optic fiber with 100Mb speed and wired

Then, regarding all informations gathered through the PC SSF4AE topics on this forum, I’ve modified the configuration like this :

First go to your 3D Graphic card properties and set it to have the best performance and less quality

Go the SSF4 folder on your hard drive, and search for the file “config.ini” and open it with notepad

• rendering thread “ON”, change to “OFF” and save the file -

then go to in game configuration

Set everything to default (with 720p resolution in my case)

Anti aliasing OFF
Vsync OFF

Also on your internet router open those ports :

[]UDP and TCP port 3074.
[]UDP port 88
[]UDP and TCP port 53
[*]TCP port 443
[/LIST]

From now the game runs perfectly online, very very few lag without in game slow-down, around 5% match lagging with green bars even with US players. The connection ping is far better than XBOX360, regarding my internet installation of course, so it’s like playing offline, GREAT !!!

I suppose the online servers on PC are better implemented in France than XBOX360’s, well that’s my thought.

So that’s what I’ve done to get the best configuration on my computer and run SSF4AE perfectly online with a focus on 3D card performance. The graphic quality is still good in 720p resolution.

Oh and I forget, I main Makoto and my GFWL/XBL Gamertag is : daiisuki SWGA

Servers don’t handle ping amongst players, there’s a pvp connection.

Does the benchmark account for additional processing that online mode needs? I really hope people know that online is more intensive than offline. Also framerate issues are more likely to occur if you if you use multicore processing iirc

Then there’s something wrong on your end.
I just did a ft10 with a Blanka after a couple hours of Ranked and there was one single Cody player in the whole Ranked session where Input lag+weird framerate was occurring.

Claiming everyone is delusional just because you’re having problems is quite Egotistic.

Do you have vsync off, renderingthread off, aa off and framerate on fixed?
Plus, are you sure there is nothing forced from the video card cp?

VSync is on, and i have everything turned down except the stages, im using fixed.

im not saying i have a complete stop during a match, but rather hiccups that drastically fuck shit up for me.

my video card is set on performance, not quality

I just dont think the game is coded very well. Ive played far, far more demanding games on my rig with no slowdown at all, and this game has lower specs and cant stay constant.
