So, how is the competition on PC? People mention that XBL has consistently better players, which worries me. How is the PC crowd, in your guys’ experience?
I’ll be lucky to come across anyone who has 2.8-3k+ pp more than once every day. In other words, its not good. I run into maybe one or two good players max each day in ranked, everyone else is easily beatable.
yeah the competition on PC is weak just because it’s a smaller community compared to the consoles. I mean i havent really played anyone that is really good (almost ranked #1 BP for abel) and i have like 4.2k PP right now. my win% is like 93-94% overall and ranked is like 94-95%. I mean if you find good players add them and play endless. thats the only reason i play ranked now, to try and find decent-good players. it would be cool if more top level players play on PC. I even hear that the online is sometimes better than xbl but im not sure i only play on PC.

anyone experienced this?
Lots of lag is resolved if you dont use a router (atleast that worked for me)
how about you learn to port-forward instead
Actually I ve been port forwarding since GGPO and nothing works as well as direct connection.
I have a load of really good players (2.5-3k+) on my friends list, after playing some time you will have great competition every night.
Least laggy of any SF4 platform too.
^ hey ellipsen can i add you? do you ever have lobbies with those players? i would like to get in them if you do!
steamid: beatyakold GFWL: beat ya kold
I will add you later on, I can use some Abel work! Also check this thread out(from Vanilla PC) - lots of them went on to play in AE as well.

List of good PC Players — we should try to keep the same thing going for AE PC.
Supposedly there’s a new patch update on Steam?
I definitely just saw SF4 just finish updating, what was that about??
I get this too… if someone could help. My friend was able to play online with my account.
You might have answered your own question, maybe ur ID is tied to his version/key now.
Nah I got it fixed… For some retarded reason, I turned off auto sign-in, restarted the game and signed in manually… And it worked.
I’m getting lag only when I play online. I only play green bar opponents. Someone messaged me saying that it’s probably a problem on my end since other people he plays is fine. I also have all the ports open, and nothing downloading.
Anyone have an idea on why I’m lagging?
Recently I played a guy from my country (I play in Germany, PC Version of SF4 AE).
The online experience was the best Ive ever had, by far. It feeled like offline (Im not playing offline, cause my friends dont play the game, but I was able to hit all the links, like in training mode). It was such a big difference to my other games, the reactions where so much better, I actually was able to whiff punish etc. Something I thought isnt possible, or I dont had it in my repertoire, because normally I have more lag.
Short to say, it was awsomely smooth. I asked him if he had anything special with his internet. He just said, that he has his port forwarded.
I googled for it, but it seems to be nothing special, just to open the ports on your router just like listed on the microsoft site:
[]Port 88 (UDP)
[]Port 3074 (UDP und TCP)
[]Port 53 (UDP und TCP)
[]Port 80 (TCP)
I have this done to my router for months or alost years, I dont know. Does that mean, all my opponents I normally encounter dont have opened these ports???
What are youre experiences with these ports and other people?
Correct me if I’m wrong but this game uses input prediction in it’s netcode, that is the reason delay is lower than other games. GGPO like, which is a miracle for fighting games.
I can’t say anything about that. I only have KOF13, which is absolutely ass onlinen, unplayable. And I have Blazblue CS Ex2 (or whatever the name), which is also very good online, but I only like and play street fighter 4, which is for me the best fighter out there.
Can someone reply to my first post? Do you all have the ports open?
