PC: SSF4 AE - How is it online?

This.

If anyone has the fortune of owning a decent PC setup this version is the one to get.

Because your keyboard not working in a PC game is completely normal.

Where the heck is everyone? Can’t find anyone to play for the last few nights. Looking for high PP players, and only 1 or 2 show up at a time. Most of the time nothing. Everyone quit already? I’m Thee Bad Guy on PC if anyone wants to match up.

pc version is ded

Played a ton of matches today, most of them lag free. Back when I played Vanilla on my friends Xbox I was lucky to find a match where lag was less than half a second, some where well over a full second of lag.

Even the 2 yellow bar hosts are usually really smooth. Honestly the only time I’ve found problems is when the other player has an E rated computer or someone tries to host an endless match with like 5 people because the more people connected at once to watch the match ends up sending a lot more data and slowing down the net quality.

As for the “quality” of the players. Really it is more the “volume” of players. There is only like maybe 30-40k people who have even gone on to the leaderboards at BEST. So of course 1000PP is going put you pretty high up. Xbox/PSN have well over 100-150k people on their leaderboards. Less players means that your points are more important, it also means that there is going to be lower scores overall.

Quick question for u guys. I apologize if this is the wrong place but I’ve been thinking about getting the pc version but only have a stock graphics card in my laptop so am I still good or not? I think I’m pretty okay specs-wise even though my comp isn’t exactly new but I just don’t wanna buy it and then not have it work and be completely screwed out of my money.

What laptop do you have? Just need a brand and model or just tell us what the specs are. I’m playing on a laptop and i get 113 fps on the benchmark everything maxed without aa.

Okay, I have a choice of two laptops I could play on so I’m sure one of them will be better for the game than the other:

Dell inspiron 1545
Windows 7
Pentium® Dual core T4300 2.1GHz
3 GB Ram
Intel graphics media accelerator X4500HD

HP Pavilion dv6700
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual core TK-57 1900 MHZ
Windows Vista Home
2 GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce 7150M

Also, I’m hoping to be able to use my ps3 te stick so do I have to download a special program or something or just plug and play? Again, sorry the the noobish questions but just wanna make sure of everything first before I buy the game. Thx for any help guys.

I was stalking the forum like always but I see that some people are looking to buy a 4pack on steam, and today I got a mail from g2play.com saying that they are selling the AE key GFWL for 9.99€ that it is a real bargain. Other like intkeys.com have it for 16€ and steam for 29.

Come on, we need more people playing on PC!

Not to sound harsh but seriously I doubt the game will even run on those laptops. Most important is the graphics card and both of them have integrated ones and maybe the HP will be able to start the game but I seriously think you won’t even be able to get anywhere close to 60 fps on all lowest settings.

In short, get a new capable laptop that has a dedicated graphics card (or desktop) or stick to the console versions.

the PC version really does have its problems.Sometimes theres random lag and your inputs dont get registered.Even suddenly the game freezes and the popup message saying that you lost your connection to your opponent but when you come back to the lobby the persons right there. At least its got amazingly quick load times.

Whoever is complaining that they can’t play when using DSL. DSL is ass. Even if you get a decent download speed your upload will be horrendous thusly making shitty connections even to people who are neighbors. I know from experience.

The more I play on pc the more I’m loving it. The other day I decided to play ssf4 ae on my ps3 it was bad no bar and lag, so from now on it pc. You alway get Green bar and the player is pretty decent if you find the right people to play with.

I really don’t understand what the complaints are with pc. The game runs great and do not even need a badass ass rig to play it. Street fighter is not a a very graphic intensive game. If capcom wanted to they can add even more eye candy while still making the game playable. Also, it seems that the pc version has extra effects that are not seen in the console version. This should tell you.

If you are experiencing lag then try adjusting the graphics setting. Also consider what background programs you are running. If you have a process in the background running that is slowing you down while playing then turn it off. This is for any pc game. check driver status. have any viruses or malware?

Pc should run better for simple fact that you can customize your settings to make the game play the way you want it to. In my experince I have a lot less lag on PC than I do on PS3. my opinion is that more ps3 users are on wifi which can be more latent then wired and those with desktops are less like to have a wireless connection. Again, if you want a better experience then go wired instead of wifi no matter what technology you use.

Thx for the info bro. Guess I’m out of luck then.

Don’t know if anyone else is running into this problem, but whenever I get a message on MSN, my AE will start to lag like crazy. I used to run Windows Live 2009, because I’m not really a fan of the new one. Figured that was the problem at first, but installing 2011 version didn’t help either.

I was stating how great this is, but the last few days I’ve started to have latency problems in all matches even against people with green bars and A rated machines.
Is anyone else getting this issue lately?

The really stupid thing is the way Capcom makes yellow bar connections show up as green in game. Its fucking laggy as shit and you assume the guy has a good connection when you create a lobby. It shows up as yellow on the menu but green in game. You end up having about a second of input delay and an ass match overall. I stopped creating lobbies in ranked for this exact reason…

Oh, how cool it would be to actually see the ping of your opponent instead of a small bar…

Lots of times it actually is YOUR connection, and sometimes rebooting your modem(especially DSL) BEFORE playing will get you a stronger/more stable connection.
