I noticed something. D3Doverrider caused the random crushes for me. I disabled it, set the frames to fixed and vsync on in the game options menu. No crashes anymore.
Try reinstalling or enabling d3do after you open the game. I’ve been using d3d for so long now its amazing. Worked wonders in vanilla sf4.
gfwl here is downloading an update for the game. Is this the one Sven talked about, to fix a few bugs? Or is it the one to remove DRM?
Got the game today, it is very hard to find a game and if I do, it has huge delay. Also when I go to custom most of the games are with yellow/red/gray bars. My internet is great, and I don’t have any problems with other online games. Can anyone give me any tips how to fix this?
no issue here
Both.
I think the Keyboard bug is fixed, the Replay channel language thing is fixed, the missing usernames bug is fixed, the Fixed framerate option is now the default, and the DRM is gone.
From a competitive standpoint, the PC community is well behind its 360 counterpart. I’m far from great, but I still only get a real challenge in about 1/10 ranked matches (set for higher ranking players).
From a technical standpoint, it works great unless I play someone (or end up in an endless battle lobby) with less than an “A” PC rating or less than a green connection rating. It really sucks that a spectator in an endless battle lobby can deteriorate everyone’s experience even when they aren’t playing. Game runs great and looks better than on 360 (but my tv is only 720p, whereas my monitor is 1080). Specs: AMD Phenom II x4 @3GHz, 8GB RAM, GeForce 9800GT, dual 1080p monitors, wireless LAN connection. I can play without AA or AF with everything else all the way up and never drop below 60fps during a match.
I did not know this, I was wondering if slower spectators added to lag, thank you very much.
The PC version’s online gameplay wouldn’t be that crappy if we had a BIT less of inputdelay on every quality of connection, a bit less than 1 second for 2 people living 2 meters away from each other and both having DSL 100M wouldn’t be bad, don’t ya think? But not in the world of Crapcom and Games for Windows Life, which still has the crown for the most worthless software ever created.
Well, still it’s SSF4 and if you have no way to play it offline, you MAY like to play with your FRIENDS. Playing random people will take away any fun you ever had with video games, since 99,999999% of the online players are autistic, incredibly autistic.
Once I played a giga retard, mashing tiger uppercut in every situation, letting them being blocked every time, eating all projectiles, mashing out tiger cannon every single time it was available. I then asked him kindly if he is 4 years old, has some kind of serious damage at the place his hands should be, has a totally broken keyboard or is really just mentally ill second to none.
He answered: "What wrong? I do not know enough"
I answered: "Sorry that I expected you to be able to write or to read properly."
After some flames of his and me stating that he shouldn’t shoot his autism in all directions like this, he answered: “Autist are intelligence better than normals.”
Then I had to look how I receive one useless flame message after the other since GfWL is capable of nothing, not even of having a stupid ignore list which even GGPO has. EVEN FREAKING GGPO.
The main idea of public servers and letting people play random people was always a bad one, incredibly full of failure and surely created by some kind of Art of Fighting-fan.
You lost to a 4 year old!?
Well, obviously autism isn’t limited to SSF4 online lobbies, since I don’t know where I wrote that I lost. I rather don’t know how losing looks like in SSF4 because not even a single opponent, not even the top 10 ranked hyper idiots, are anywhere healthy in matter of their brain.
I can vouch for the opposite.
On day 1, me and a Melbourne player were in Endless mode, and an American decides to come in, playing him was unbearable, and we kicked him after a few matches because he didn’t want to leave, but the matches between me and the Melbourne player were not noticeably different while he was watching in.
I went from vanilla PC version to AE PC version and the seemingly variable input lag is horrible in comparison. The game will randomly slow down and hiccup every 5-15 seconds. It feels really weird. Like playing the game in Syrup.
I will mess with some of my settings to try and get it better.
I bench 300 FPS (fixed setting, no AA, vsync off) and my connection is wired (and as previously stated vanilla works very well online), so its not my PC that’s at fault. Also I play in windowed mode.
The game wouldn’t read directional inputs from my madkatz arcade stick when set to DP mode. It worked with LS though.
DP works in vanilla PC.
I was talking to the guy you beat.
Yup and heres the thing. As long as people claim that “Everything is fine it must be your pc” then Capcom wont fix it and it will stay that way forever. Somehow our pc’s became obsolete between sf4 and ssf4. You would think they would want a perfect game, a real perfect game not the one they claim it already is.
With the stick after you mapped it you can switch it back to DP.
That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
If you have a big issue with the game bring it up with Capcom in their gigantic issues thread, instead of taking your anger out on people who are playing it without problems.
Thanks, I noticed that too when I tried switching it back to DP.
AE seems much more sensitive to network interference than vanilla was.
Dumbest thing you ever heard? What are you 1 day old? Where am I taking out any anger at anybody? Sounds to me you took that as if it was direct at you personally almost like as if your guilty of something. dont take your guilt out on me. And thx for the advice, but I think I’ll stick to responding to an SRK user post while Im browsing SRK. Thats usually how it works chief.
But what he said is right. You should really complain in capcoms issue thread on their forum or less of a chance they will actually do something about it.
Well I would have to sign up and I almost did whenever Capcom had the dumb idea to implement a headscratching anti-piracy drm. Only reason I didnt was bcuz I saw so many people already were speaking for me. But really Its plain to see, he gets his feelings hurt if someone says something about the pc version. I want the pc version to be the best or at the very least be on par with the consoles.
His stupid of approach of “you better not say anything bad about the pc AE” Here is the truth, its not up to par. If I keep on playing it, I get used to enough to where I dont even notice it. That is until I get back on my ps3. What I do is play a whole day of only ps3 and then next day nothing but pc . As soon as I cycle back to pc I notice it again.
And about him being right, no, the guy posted here, i read here so i post here. What does that have to do with capcom unity other than him not wanting anyone to say their is some problems here? Really he should’ve said that from the get-go instead of all that “fix you pc the game is fine” stuff trying to white knight his preffered version of street fighter.
