Game ran suuper slow on my old GT640. At 1440x900, game felt great on low settings (very responsive), but obviously didn’t look good. Even if I bumped it up to medium, it was dramatically worse. Did not test with anti-aliasing off.
My new graphics card just arrived today and I just installed it a few minutes ago (r9 380, substantially more modern), will give it another shot. But I wonder if it’s an optimization issue, since I have AMD CPU instead of Intel. I think the earlier versions of Rising Thunder ran into that issue, or at least that’s what I gathered from the messageboards.
Runs well on R9 380. It’s slightly better than the GTX 960, but they are in the same general weight class.
Specs:
AMD Phenom II x6 1090t (3.2ghz)
Radeon R9 380 (4gb)
12gb RAM
running at 1440x900
For reference: at max settings the SSF4 (last one before Ultra) benchmark would run at about 200fps and Rising Thunder would run at 85-90 fps. I doubt I’m getting much better than 60fps for SF5 (no way to tell, really). Not sure if this is an optimization issue or if them’s just the breaks.
Havent noticed a single framedrop at 1080p and all settings on recommended, however its unclear if that is highest setting. Youd expect recommended to be some kind of auto detect, but then theres an auto detect witch defaults all settings to medium for me so its pretty confusing. Also havent been able to try anything but training since i cant get any matches
I can run the game on maximum settings with no drops at 1080p and 1440p. At 4k is when the FPS finally drops and hovers at around 40-50. Took some images of the game running at 4k if anyone is interested.
Can run the game on high everything with depth to far and the other value (forget the name at the moment) at 87. Game runs flawlessly. No ssd and load times are pretty fast on boot up through steam as well.
Because a 960 is capable of running it but you have to understand you are buying a low end card. You have to mess with your settings a bit depending on the rest of you pc hardware. Just lower some settings and you will be fine.
Trying to play the sf5 beta, I connected my ps4 TE2 stick, but the game/steam does not recognize the controller even though in device manager the computer recognize it. How do I get it to work with steam/sf5?
