Running 4k on laptop is possible with certain SLI config laptops or PCI-e adaptors but why lol? Like most have noted you won’t notice it unless you’re using an external monitor in which case just build a gaming rig.
You actually can, it’s just not easy or generally worth the effort.
Hmmm so you gonna upgrade your motherboard to get a better GPU? If you do that, then you are also upgrade the CPU as well. Might as well just buy a new laptop. It would probably be cheaper. lol
I’m not gonna do that, it’s a largely hassle unless you laptop happens to support MQ or HQ model CPU’s (I forget which) which are bracket sockets and swappable. Anything else is also doable but requires a soldering expert  Pretty much like you said you’re better of just buying a new laptop instead of upgrading internal parts, I was just noting that it can actually be done.
huh? game was running on my Intel Core2Duo E7400 2.8 GHz from 2008 (with GeForce GTX 660) at ~50 fps
sadly, the game doesn’t scale at all if you lower the graphics options. so basically at 1080p with medium to high settings worked just the same as 640x480 with everything low.
which is weird because the alpha version of Unreal Tournament 2016 ran a lot better with more complex scenes… anyway, it was time for an upgrade, so now i’m on a i5-6500
it’s worth a try, because G3258 is a looot newer than my older CPU and at a higher frequency
Running everything on Low, bar Model Texture and Res Scale in 50. Game looks pretty bad, not gonna lie, but it runs really well regardless of the scenario. Which kinda made me happy since I won’t need to upgrade my PC ASAP just for SFV… I guess.
Yeah. AFAIK the CPU isn’t what is holding down the perfomance on my PC. It’s more like the outdated VGA. The thing is that I don’t really play anything else than SF. So I really didn’t want to waste money to upgrade my VGA in order to play a game that I’m not even sure that I’ll like.
The game would be more enjoyable at max settings. I hope to eventually run it in all it’s 4K glory! Keep in mind that upgrading your VGA would be a lot cheaper than buying a PS4.
I bought my card in like 2012, and it still runs most games on Ultra, or at the worst high settings. XD This thing never gives up.
It’s a Power color radeon HD 7850 (2011 card) 2GB GDDR5, I run the game at max settings 100 res scaling, absurd. Street Fighter V, just like SF4 is INSANELY optimized, if anyone says anything else, they’re lying, or they’re PC is shit, and they can’t accept it.
I went to CDkeys.com, I got SFV for 32 bucks, American dollars, site’s legit. I also got Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor game of the year edition for 8 bucks there, works perfectly, just playing that until SF5 comes out, fucking amazing game.
The improvements in mid-range GPUs haven’t been that great in the last few years so even though HD 7850 is super old, for a GPU, it’s not as far behind the ‘recommended’ GTX 960 as one might think. It’s actually the case that if you bought a 7970, a high end card that cost like $500 when it came out in 2011, that would still be roughly as fast as a 960/380. If you also consider that the PS4 has a very slow CPU, but with many cores, it should be possible to build a super cheap PC for SFV with old used parts. Something like a very old i7 and a 7950 should run the game fine and be very cheap.
I should have access to the beta tonight with my razer blade 2015( 970m)
I will let you know if I can push everything to ultra in 1080p.
Also ordered first part of my future rig. Decided to go all out. Evga gtx980 ti hybrid and intel 6700k. hopping to play with everything in ultra in 1440p.
By the way, does the game support 1440 p?
Great news for those with laptops that want to play SF5!
I have a i5 4200M @2.5Ghz (1.1 below min!), 6GB RAM, and Nvidia GeFroce 750M SLI. The CPU is way below minimum requirements and GPU(s) slightly below minimum .
On 1366x720p with all settings on low and resolution scaling on 100 I get stable 60 fps. Plays great and I don’t mind the downgraded resolution, just happy I can play. On 1080p , res scaling 100, all medium settings I get ~32 fps but it is unplayable- its like slow motion. I’ve honestly never see a game look this bad @ 30 fps lol, I can’t pick my finger on what it is but you need 60 fps pretty much for a smooth experience.
Anyway, just posting this for those out there that have below minimum requirements, especially notebook users. If you don’t mind 720p you mighgt be able to run it.
