I tried the beta/Tech check last week . Currently i have the basic alienware alpha
Intel Core i3 4130T @ 2.90GHz
4 GB Sodimm PC3-12800 (800 MHz) 1.35 Volts
Nvidia custom GPU (some sort of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M/ GTX 750 TI ) 2 GB ram Core clock 135.0 MHz Memory clock 405.0 MHz.
I was using the steam FPS tool.
Well i was able to play at 60 fps with 1024 x 768 textures on mid and scaling at 30. (it didnt look too great but was smooth).
I tried 1080 with high settings to enjoy the quality i always see on the videos, the game played at 30 + FPS , it was playable but felt slow.
What i dont understand is that randomly when using 1080, i could achieve 60 fps for the rest of the fight, but it was not consistent. (could it be related to the stage?? idk, and didnt pay attention to that fact then)
I know that my system is below the recommended one (processor is below the i3-4160 @ 3.6 GHz , video card below the Nvidia GTX 480 and my memory below the 6gb )
But i can take the 30 fps for single player and would accept the low graphic settings for online.
Im trying to get my memory up to 8gb to see if that allows me to go a little bit up the graphic settings, but prob wont make much difference.
Dont accept 30FPS offline, its just gonna mess with your timing. Stop being cheap.

Do you just buy the sf5 on steam? are they any season pass on pc or collector edition on steam?
Or do you buy it on another website with better price?

Look at the post literally right above you. That is the best price I’ve seen it at ever.
Once you buy from a third party you will get a steam code and activate and download that way.
As far as I know I haven’t seen any discounts on the season pass for the PC version.

By the way. I just bought a razer blade 2015 with 8 giga ram a 970m and a 4720hq.
That should be more than enough to play in 1080p with all setting maxed, no?
do I need 16 giga if I want to play in 4k all max setting?
Don’t know about mobile gpus, but ive never heard of any laptop that can play 4K. Hell your screen won’t be.
Ram won’t help you, it’s all gpu power and vram and screen resolution.
You should aim for 1080p
4k with external monitor. is it possible 4k via hdmi?
In all the case 1080p maxed out will already be perfect.
I just don’t think that card has the juice for 4K resolution.
I just checked and the 970M is the equivalent of the gtx960.
that the card they recommanded.
by recommanded do you think that the gtx 960 will be able to deliver everything maxed out on 1080p?

You wont be able to play the game at 4k with a moble card. A 970M isnt just a 960. Doesnt work like that, if it was then it wouldnt have a M in the title. You could probably get 1080p at low settings and thats still a maybe. Most likely you’ll have to go to 720p if you want stable FPS.
Let us know how you do on this weekend beta test, how many fps you achieve and at what resolutions.

seems like 4K is not for now… will need a pascale gpu next year may be.
If I can achieve ultra in 1080p @ 60frame that will be already ubergood.
Seems like the same config. come with a i7-4720HQ 8 giga ram @ 1600 and a 970M just like my Razer blade 2015.

I will try 4K with my new R9 Fury this week , at least i hope can run in 1440p 60 fps.
Pascal will be good for G-sync monitor , but for 4K Freesync monitor , Fury X2 or next AMD “Polaris” GPU will be better.
Parts arrived the last week.
I3 6100 and 8 GB Ram, no additional graphic card so far! I just put the whole PC together and installed Windows+all programms so that I can work on this thing.
The processor gpu can play USF4 just fine (1280x1024 window mode), every detail on lowest vsync on. It gets 139.110 fps on internal Benchmark.
Wonder if it is possible to Play SF5 on absolute lowest details in window-mode, does it also give a black background? Would be enough for me

Was able to run the game at max settings during the beta. Only time frames dipped was during Necalli’s win screen (not by a lot).
you just need to get a good video card and see how much limitation the i3 gives.
I was testing the graphic settings on last week tech test and believe me, going all the way to the lowest is TERRIBLE !!!
Just FYI, you will not be able to upgrade the GPU on that laptop.
