I felt the same way too during my first week of play, but as you keep playing and progress further with your character, you start to realize the genius in this concept and it works. Just keep at it and reach the end game content. If you still feel that way at that point, then the game is not for you.
GGG announced yesterday that they reached 150 diamond supporters! I think a couple more joined since then. That’s pretty damn amazing being that PoE is still in closed beta. If you’re curious about the supporter packages, check out this video GGG made (with act 3 preview)!

I never got a beta key even though i signed up like a year and a half ago. But I liked what I’ve played from the open betas that were thrown before. How long is this open beta gonna last and is it gonna carry over anything to live or will it be a wipe like the last one?

Just put together a Staff Templar build because I had a passive reset left over from my elemental bow build. Ill post it up later, 1100dps and 37% chance to block, sillz…GS is over 2kdps unbuffed.
Currently leveling a templar (lvl 30ish). Gonna test out Kripp’s power siphon build, it looked fun. Gotta go melee with lightning strike until I get Chain.
For those that are you gonna play upon the release of open beta, it’d be useful to state what class and build you’re playing, so you look out for gear/gems that others might need and vice versa. It’ll make everything more enjoyable. 
Does SRK have a ventrilo or mumble server or something? I’d be cool to have people to chat with while playing. I was thinking of maybe getting a global vent/mumble server and have different channels for different games (PoE, D3, etc) and people could switch back and forth.
Oh is the game open beta right now?
Im definitely going HC and rebuilding my staff templar, start off rushing life nodes until I can get some decent gear. My biggest problem is resistances right now, but I can still do 62-63 maps fairly easy.

im playing a witch, random build, shield and pure casting (built the witch with HC in mind). just testing the game at the moment, mechanics and such. i heard that in HC when your character dies, it doesnt really die, it goes to softcore. if this is the case, that kind of defeats the purpose of hardcore, and isnt really the same thing. maybe they will actually do a hardcore hardcore mode later? haha

Well I think the hardcore death is a nice concept. You are basically unable to advance up the hardcore ladder, but you can keep your character in softcore to fool around with it’s build and help fine tune it without having to rerun up to that point again. Maybe they should have a popup that asks you to keep or delete on death? I bet most people would pick keep though.
I think I missed out on the beta, but I will likely pick this up at the end of the month. Finishing up my second character on torchlight 2, will probably take a break from the game until the official mod tools come out and people start making God tier hard challenge levels.

somebody has to explain the economy in a nutshell, sometime. Also exactly what kind of rares i am looking for. I am going to stick with my fire/minion build in the open beta, as I am steam rolling everything and one shotting one and all and im almost done act 2 on cruel. I havean excellent idea where my build will go, and although i fucked up a few times exploring various options early on, my gear, and skills, and build, let me just slaughter.
