I have a question, can I stack all three elemental damage support gems and or equipment and do all three types of damage? Or am I limited to two since I dual wield?

Link to shadow builds. Find one that is for beginners and cheap!

Can anyone get him into our guild? I don’t have rights. 'cause ya’ll niggas don’t trust me…

I had an elemental build last season. Molten Strike 2-Hander + Elemental damages. You really need to be a Templar/Maurader to make it work, but… Rangers, Shadows and Duelists were able to use it as well with modifications and some gear that might be a bit out of a beginner’s price range.

There is a gem called Elemental Hit. I don’t see any Shadow builds based on it (probably for a good reason that I just don’t know about), but last time I checkd there were Duelist and Marauder versions of it that people really seemed to like.

The problem with elemental builds is that you have to spread your tree all over the damn map in order to get to the good nodes you need. That means that you have to cover the gaps with gear, meaning that you need more currency. But, they are great for overcoming monsters that are resistant to physical damage, or highly armored.

Oh.

Which gems? If you’re talking about Added xxx Damage gems, then yes, you can stack them. And yes, it will do all three types of damage.

In fact, in this game you can even change your elemental damage into other types of elemental damage. For example, you can change a percentage of your fire damage into lightning damage, which is kinda how the Molten Strike build I used last season used to work.

What you cannot do is stack two of the same sort of “Added xxx Damage” together to deal more of the same sort of damage.

Finally, you can tell if a support gem is working with the gem you’re trying to use it with by looking to see if it gets them little letter in the top right corner of the icon for it. If it doesn’t then it don’t work.

Which is neigh impossible unless you live anywhere near Australia.

One of the biggest free games with mandatory online connectivity had to be developed and based in a country with an Internet infrastructure made out of Vegemite and Didgeridoos.

Going to give @Manx officer rights.

I’m creating a room in the SRK DFO Raidcall 10904755 for PoE.

Best way to reach me is there.

@Manx @Sonicabid If you have Raidcall I can give you mod permissions there.

@Manx Bladesake has been promoted to guild officer.

@Sonicabid is still guild officer.

@pedoviejo Is in the guild now.

Thanks. I’ma get on raid call. Trying to install it, but I crashed…

i’m back (sorta)

work schedule only permits me to play from Saturday 7pm - Sunday 11pm. y’all on around that time?

starting back over. crit ranger OF COURSE

Got my explosive arrow Scion pretty much done with major nodes and gear was really fun. Did great once thornflesh was removed and was honestly fine before as long as you kept it to two volleys until you knew nothing would kill you. Very HC viable but you need to level with flame totem + attack until about 48 imo. Highly suggest 5 link for single target boss damage as well because your single target until then is awful you just kill with ignite.

Hands down the best build i have tried for the Tempest season. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1367804

Above link is to good skeleton for the build I changed a decent amount of things and wear a Devoto’s helm.

I should be on this weekend.

@pedoviejo That’s the problem I’m having. I can ill, but it’s not that OMG!! UBER FAST SANIC SPEED killing that I want (yet). But survivability isn’t a problem unless I get cursed or the monster has some stupid mod on it like massive crits or some shit.

What build are you using? The good thing is that once you have gear you can fly through the leveling process, so re rolling isn’t that bad at all. Here’s the build I’m using. I was skeptical at first, but I’m really starting to like it now in the later levels. I’m currently about 3k Armor and just under 3K evasion (which will probably become Iron Reflexed soon) with 55% block chance and 3095 Health at level 67. And that’s without rings since I’m still using the Elreon mod magic rings.

Here’s a link to my Cyclone build. It’s a nice cross between tankiness and DPS in the form of block passives. It’s not a solo build though. It’s an aura build. I’m probably going to get a set of gear that is optimized for magic find, shared auras and tanking and another for raw DPS/farming, etc. I just need two items and they aren’t that expensive except for the shield.

Here’s a link to the basics of Cyclone build. It tells you how you can do it cheaply. I don’t mind giving you my old gear.

I have vendored so much decent gear simply because I don’t want to keep it around. I gotta get dat shop set up.

shadow with a lot of critical hits on melee. The difference between my first and second build isn’t much.

On the first try, I ended up running herald of thunder, curse, and wild strike.

Herald of thunder makes all my attacks thunder based. and when I kill a shocked enemy, lighting starts raining. it’s easy to get shocked enemies when all your hits are practically critical strike

I ran assassins mark because it adds the critical strike chance additevly and the damage on critical hit was also additively iirc for the later. It gave me a shit ton of health and mana, but only when I kill people. It was great on lower level mobs, or mobs with less than stellar health. It also gave me a 25% chance of getting a power orb on kill.

Wild strike gave me aoe, chain, and projectile all at once with elemental damage. I linked it with multi strike, life on hit, and power orb on critcal hit. This means i’m staking orbs like crazy whenever there’s a mob and i’m gaining life just as fast. My first build had a critical chance multiplier of ~72 with four orbs dual daggers with no curse modifier.

However I quickly became overwhelmed by the boss in act 3 because I didn’t have any range. I also didn’t run any shield or evasion nodes. And was running hybrid evasion armor set. Which wasn’t good. I also wasn’t doing enough damage per second because I don’t have a fast attack speed, and the aura to make me move fast costs 50% mana reserve, plus herald of thunder 25% leaves me dry.

I had nothing but pure critical chance modifiers with knives, dual, and global, plus 2 movment nodes, 3 power orb nodes, and the rest just life and mana additives.

On my second build (current), I did the same, after the new game plus I was running into more trouble because I diverted critical strike nodes into evasion and shield. This wasn’t doing the same dps, but I was surving longer, but it wasn’t good enough for enemies. I killed less, but survived longer, no net gain. Especially when the blue human enemies listed on maps would come in waves.

I omitted assassins mark for poachers mark. because on my first build I had a mana problem. But now I had a damage problem because critical did significantly less damage.

I then decided to drop one dagger and go with a evasion energy shield shield. I run tempest shield on hit allowing me to survive better. It helps a lot, but it’s a temporary fix and the damage done isn’t physical but projectile chain based. I’m also now running lighting ball with totem with 2 projectile modifiers. It was doing OK on the first 3/4 of act 1, but on act 2 there simply isn’t enough damage being done by the totem. I was thinking of adding Iron Grip into the mix because I’m not running any nodes on projectile attack and could get a significant increase in critical hit chances, but I don’t have any nodes invested into attack damage and I don’t think critical chance on hit transfers to totem. what I have now is

life on kill
mana on kill
Global Critical chance modifiers
critical chance daggers
lighining damage
Hex master nodes
evasion and energy
life and energy

I also did detonate dead with a cast on hit orb, to have more damage going on, but it’s not enough. I experimented with minon, and that helped much more. But I would have to decide between totem and minion over the long run because both require a lot of modifiers along with wild hit. And wild hit is the main way I gain life on hit with poachers mark. It ensure constant life.

I could eliminate all life/mana on kill, but i’d need to go directly to dual curse to run both poachers mark and assassins mark. The critical chance modifiers make it easier to activate herald of thunder and that shit works because when everything is curse, I never run out of life or mana along with wild strike.

I need to find a way to incrase my support damage output or make my main hits kill things faster, but IDK how.

I’m also gimped further because I have absolutely no movement or attack speed nodes. That makes it dangerous and makes all of my attacks more risky because it’s not doing anything quickly or hard enough.

some dude helped me and he was running that build. Shit was brutal. I’ma spin and youse gonna take that shit like the bitch youse is. LOL

Pick up more Health nodes. Stacking too much damage is a big trap for lots oplayers. I even did it on my old character. Diboux’s pretty much doing it now. Dude is too fragile. and I don’t see him being able to do maps like this.

You should follow a build until you get the hang of making characters and find out what works and what doesn’t. Every character will have a weakness, so there’s no getting around that. Example: if I get slowed, then the little damage I do deal gets cut in half. So any monster with a slow mod or MAPS with that mod will be double hard for me.

I’ma look for a crit build that doesn’t require too many items.

If your first character feels shitty and you feel like you can’t progress him anymore, try to use some re-spec nodes to keep going. If you can’t, don’t worry about it and just re-roll another character.

I fucked up a lot of characters on my way towards making a good one. With a couple of low level items you can slam through content really, really fast(especially if you skip quests that offer crap rewards like a Flask or +1-2 respec points.)

There’s this awesome Cast on Crit Scion build I wanted to show you guys but I reinstalled Chrome and lost my Bookmarks. I was going to straight up 1:1 copy this guys build+gear to try it out, I was that impressed. Dude could 1-2 shot entire groups of mobs in high level maps with full groups of people(making enemy HP really damn high.) It was a sight to behold, one of the few builds I’ve seen that really really impressed me. That dude is a genius to come up with that build. I need to log on so I can message him for a link to the thread he made detailing the build. It seems really obscure so I have a feeling it won’t get nerfed because it’s unknown.

Completely following a build this time around and now I have a character I can use. I’ll save experimentation for later.

Well I modified the totem with iron grip.

It helps so much. This means I don’t have to invest into any projectile nodes. I also don’t have access to power orbs, but that’s ok I can attack faster and move faster thanks to better equipment freeing up equipment slots. Doing act 2 with less effort.

Now I have to decide if I keep manually castying tempest shield, or remove detonate dead on hit and replace that on hit skill with tempest.

@Sonicabid and the rest of you traders: Hey, can you have a glance at my shop and see iof you see any item I’m selling too cheap? It’s all on sale for 1c, negotiable. I really don’t care what I get I just wanna get rid of this shit.

Thanks!
