This is one of those games that you either have to follow a good build or be really geared.
When I started his game I chose what looked fun and it ended up being low tier and since I was new I had no gear.
Then after some taunting by some who will remain nameless, I went over to PoE forums and just rolled a god tier build and breezed through the entire game with no effort and after enough grinding you will find end game gear.
For anyone who is new to this game, first go with what works and is less gear dependent. Then once you got the gear or enough wealth to trade for gear, then roll what you want.
I don’t have time for races/leagues so I’m staying in standard.
You get a chance at these gold chests that spawn that are guarded by enemies, and if you manage to clear them the chest drops a few Peranuds Coins. You’ll see a weird NPC show up at random spots in the game to trade you currency/a rare item for some of those coins and it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth using 'em or not. It’s pretty sweet, haven’t seen much of the new content yet, still really low level and there’s been a lot of server problems. Still having a good time though, no idea how the new class stuff works so I went Marauder and am hoping for the best. I see a lot of Scions/Shadows/Witches on my friends list though, with some Templars, so those classes look like they might be the way to go this season.
@AYO!? @“Phantom Angel” @Pertho You guys going to give PoE a shot or what?
I think my computer can definitely play it. Don’t know if I wanna jump into it since I don’t know if I’ll have the time to commit to playing with you guys.
I will try to make some time on weekends but may pop on weekdays too.
I think mains should be softcore but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have a hardcore alt as well. It’s just that you don’t have to worry about lag, desync, random glitches, or falling asleep mid-run after a long day of work to find your character dead if you play.
anyway got power back on. working on my crit ranger.
i think i started to learn how to build the character around my style of play. right now i’m facetanking almost everything. i only had one close call when i got stuck in the middle of a Perandus chest.
That’s because Perandus chests are cancer. I get the concept, but it’s pretty gay how hard that glowing makes it to see WTF you’re fighting. Also, scam coins.
It makes me cry how easy Pohx makes this game look. I thought I could fly through to 70 like he does, but nope! about 3 days of play and I’m just now about to hit Merciless. Then again, I probably should have started trading earlier.
That said, I’m having much more fun with Sunder Marauder than I did with Molten Strike and Cyclone and Marauders. I understand the tree better now and know where all the traps are and how to avoid them.
