Never owned a NES but played them a lot during their lifespan. Same with Dreamcast and Saturn. Though I’d love to own those these days.

ALMOST listed handhelds but I’ll refrain since the OP was asking about home consoles. Anyone who owned a SNES and Genesis during their heyday can kiss my ass.

Seriously what does the Doug button do?

In order:
NES
Genesis
Playstation
Playstation 2
Dreamcast
Gamecube
SNES
Xbox
Playstation 3
Xbox 360
Playstation 4

This list does not include buying alternative models, or listing similar consoles. I’ve had a modded ps2 in Iraq, that could play any game/dvd from any region which was kind of bad ass.

Let’s see here:

Sega Masters System II (It came with an embedded version of Alex Kidd!)
NES
PS2
Xbox 360
Wii
PS3

Keep in mind that a lot of my friends have left consoles over at my place over the years, but the above is what I have personally bought.

That’s about it right now. Next system is hopefully going to be a PS4, but I’ll have to wait until next year for that.

NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, PSX, PS2, X-Box 360.

Out of all these, the N64 is the only console i regret buying. While the Sega Saturn is my favorite system of all time!! 32-bit era was my favorite by far. Loved PSX as well.

I’ve since retired from modern gaming because it has become a rich man’s hobby. Also now that i’m older, i realize more than ever that life is short as f**k!! I’ll always make a little time to go back and enjoy the classics but, i just can’t justify spending big $$$ & time on gaming anymore.

Honorable mention goes to the Sega CD. Yes, i was one of the Sega fans that bought one back in the day at a Toys R’ Us. It really was an underrated add-on, that added more to the Genesis than most think. It also has the added plus that pretty much all of its good games were either A) Exclusives at the time, or B ) The definitive version of that game to own.

I’ll never forget powering it up for the first time and hearing that spiffy intro music:

People think that I am crazy when I say that the n64 is easily nintendo’s worst home console. It brought some classic series such as smash bros, and Mario into the 3D realm, but it still has the weakest library of any home console Nintendo has produced. Its the one console you can miss and not really care.

I’d agree, but Mario 64, Star Fox 64, and a select few other titles, experienced as they were brand new were incredible. That said, the library was among the worst of any console I ever owned, overall.

NES 2 top loader was the last console I bought.

Sega Master System, TG16, SNES, PS1, PS2

I really think it’s a close race between the 64 and the GC for the worst Nintendo home console. Wii U may eventually make it into the discussion, but I still have a hard time finding games on the 64 that make me think, “MAN I wish I bought this console.” Whereas there were still a few titles or even compilations that I would’ve bought the GC for.

I can only think of like Mario 64, Mario Kart, OoT/MM as system movers for the 64.

Sniff. Not even…

64 may have had a dearth of must-play games, but those it did have were as must-play as you could get. They defined a generation, and to this day are still lauded as some of the best games to play. Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, Mario Kart, Goldeneye, those may be it but goddamn those are some EXCELLENT titles.

Sega Master System, Genesis, N64, PS1, Dreamcast(my favorite), Gamecube, Xbox, Slim PS2, Xbox 360, Xbox One.

Never realized until now that I only got Sony systems late in their life cycle. Except the PS3, which I never owned. I will get a PS4 for SFV.

Oh I agree, but outside of OoT, those were titles that I could just play at a friend’s house, and I just wasn’t buying a 64 for being able to play through Zelda.

Lol none of my friends would let me come over every day to play Ocarina of Time. I spent about 80 hours on that game trying to get all those gold skull spiders.

Nintendo 64 also had the BEST WRESTLING GAMES hands down. My brother and I spent a lot of time playing those games with each other and I wouldn’t trade that for the world.
