MS, PS1, PS2, PS3, 360, Game Boy (never had color) and a 3DS.
Sheeeeit, just thinking about this brings back some memories…
…for me it started off fairly late (NES was already out) but with Atari 2600… I asked for that instead of Nintendo since I figured Mom probably would not have bought the NES or even the 7800…
…but from there: NES (still THE best Christmas memory; yet to be topped)…then I moved on to the Genesis around 1989 or 90… then I got the SNES in '92, mainly for Actraiser and Legend of the Mystical Ninja.
That golden combo of Genesis + SNES went on for quite some time until 1995 when I got the Playstation…but before that— I took a wrong turn though—I got a goddamn CDi. Yes, I am almost ashamed to even admit that to anyone. It wasn’t full retail price though; a certain acquaintance in school was basically stealing from his job at a store at the time, and selling the “hot” items out of his car to anyone with the cash… so I got it for 100 bucks when retail was 499.99 at the time if I recall…heh, my parents/grandparents never found out about that situation.
Anyway, the PSX was after this fiasco. Much later on, I got Dreamcast (late '99/early 2000), then Gamecube (2002), then Xbox, then an Atari Flashback system they were selling at Target for a while (*it was like a miniature version of the “7800” design, but with several games built-in) Xbox 360 in 2005, PS3 much later around 2009? It was whenever Demon’s Souls was released…and that brings us to the X1 now.
*edit–yep, the PS2 got skipped. Oh and the N64 got skipped and laughed at.
SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, PS1, Gamecube, Xbox, PS2, Wii, PS3, 360, PS4.
Atari 2600, nes, that one sega machine that ran a maze type game if you didnt put a cartridge in it, snes, turbografix 16, turbografix handheld with tv tuner attachment, genesis, ps1, ps2, xbox360, psp, ps3, psvita, pc.
All I have now is a PS3, PS1, PSP, and PC. I dont know what happened to all the others. I know I got mad as fuck one night because the ps2 kept giving me dre so I threw that fucker out the door. I regretted it in the morning as it still had a game in it when I tossed it. The game was gone and so was the network adapter.
Edit - Ive also owned every nintendo handheld.
Is this still true for the Xbox One? I’ve never seen one out in the wild.
Consoles I’ve owned: NES, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Playstation, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Xbox 360, Wii.
I don’t think I’ll be buying consoles again or at least for a long time. I’m happy playing on my PC these days. Shit, video cards cost as much as consoles anyway. They at least help me to do some work tasks such as video editing, multi-screens, and photo editing. Also, I can claim this as a work expense in taxes.
nes, genesis, ps1, n64, dc, xbox, ps2, ps3. from ps1 onward, first game for each console was a fighting game (yes, even for n64 and xbox… barf). in hindsight, having xbox was pointless, since ng came out on ps3 eventually and bootleg shenmue 2 on dc had english subs iirc.
didn’t plan on continuing, but sf5 could be better than 4, and a proper continuation of shenmue is hard to pass up. sort of wish those games werent coming out so i could just not bother. i dont feel that enthusiastic about playing video games in general.
Bolded text means I still own them
Genesis/Mega Drive (it got stolen when I was young), PS1, PS2, Wii, DS, PSP, 360, PS3, PS4, Xbone
I mostly play on PC instead of consoles nowadays.
Playstation, Playstation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360.
I’ve also owned Game Boy Color, Advance, and I’ve bought a 3DS twice. Still have my PS2 sitting around. My Xbox is at my dads house somewhere. It was modded to run bootleg games.
