how does morrigan work for roll? i can’t check it out right now but does morrigan missles hit otg? and if so is there enough time for them to hit/

No and no on those questions, and she doesn’t work too well. Her assist should allow for longer combos/better screen control, but you could say that for any character. There’s not a whole lot of special synergy going on.

OK for roll to yatter dhc (also when starting with yatter going back to yatter from roll)

In your corner you should wait till roll swings steps back to swing before dhc
in their corner you can do it either way but there is a chance that with some characters that you might need to change something so far i have not been able to combo roll or joe with this.

Are there any combos for Roll+Yatterman? I’m interested to see if there’s any combos here.:wgrin:

basically the dhc does good damage cant be megacrashed out of after a point. and works anywhere and can be done from a variety of situation.

appartently his assist can help roll combo if you do a standing a roll sweep and time it right.

yatter to roll there is also good stuff and the dhc can be done in reverse in the corner.

Yeah Roll+yatter=combos like hell. Longest combo off the top of my head:
:d::snka:,:d::snkb:,:snkc:A roll sweep:snkd: BBQ (you might be able to do this without baroque, but your timing with the assist would have to be gdlk) :snkb:,:snkc:, A roll sweep, turbo roll sweep, turbo roll sweep, fire breath, turbo roll sweep. Works from pretty much anywhere on the screen, but you have to be in the corner for the second turbo sweep, which shouldn’t be a problem.

you can also do (starting with yatterman)

:snka: :d: :snkb:(2-3hits) Charge:l: :r: :snkc: roll assist dash in :bdp: :2p: dhc into turbo sweep

thats the basic yatta combo with roll assist

I think you have an error in that combo. :d::snkb: only hits once and pops up the opponent so :l::r::snkc: won’t shock. You must mean :l::snkb: (2-3 hits); standing B.

If you’re looking for uses for Roll’s assist, remember that a grounded splash hit from her bucket puts the opponent in an staggered state (pop-up on next hit, though), similar to Karas’ assits. So look to follow it up with something in your partner’s arsenal that doesn’t normally combo. An ideal choice with Yattaman would be a tiger-kneed :dp:, after which you can combo. You can probably even go into the infinite, though I’m not sure. I have little practice doing the infinite myself.

yeah try hitting a j.b off of a roll assist to go to the infinite…should work I think.

Sorry to go back to Casshern, but I’ve got some shit:

If you’re doing roll/casshern knockdown>assist>heal you can actually choose which person it heals based on timing. If you hit your super immediately after you hit the partner button, the super flash should take place while casshern is in the air jumping in from the side of the screen, and the heal will hit casshern, he will still combo on the ground to make roll safe. Alternately, wait a split second after you hit assist to input the :qcb::2p:, so the super flash takes place with casshern standing on the ground next to you before he attacks, and he should move out of the way of the orb, hitting the grounded enemy while roll gets healed.

i think they just reset and can block if you hit them with the firebreath super, after the electic shock

Roll has some new BnB’s with casshern

For getting a charge, the highest damage option and also the best for creating advantageous situations and keeping yourself safe, is a simple:
:d::snka: , :d::snkb: , :d::snkc: , :snkd: , :qcb::snkc:

You can actually append a :l:(charge):r::snkb: on the end of this to combo a charged sweep without a charge (does not work with C version, and A version is unmashable, this is the new preferred option for comboing into an OTG turbo sweep without a charge)

Last off, the new highest damage BnB, midscreen with a charge is:
:d::snka: , :d::snkb: , :d::snkc: , :qcf::snkc:, :snka:+:snkd: , :r::r: , :snkd: , :qcb::snkc: , :l:(charge):r::snkc:
(doable with C version unlike the other one, higher damage)

Anybody know how Roll/Zero would do? I’ve seen a few combos off of chun’s assist… could u do the same thing with zero’s?

I’m sure that would work. It’s not as relevant anymore since Roll can combo her launcher on her own now, but it would probably do more damage with the assist. Try just a,b,c,p,super jump, a,a,b,b,~whatever Something like that should work.

Roll is more of an asset to Zero than he is to Roll, because Zero likes any assist that can keep the opponent in hitstun/locked down so he can do his command dash shenanigans

zero and #2

they have moves that can safely dhc roll out, they benifit from rolls pretty strong cross over combos and can dhc into their power ups if you want, both have low health so having puddles trip people up always helps.

#2 roll could potentially be extremely annoying with robot and puddles. like testemant with traps out and the crow, or so i have heard.

yeah she isn’t getting too much benifit from their assists, and how successful the dhc is, is dependent on your use of zero and #2’s power up supers. but she isn’t a point character anyway so if you like her assist, than it is a pretty good use for her.

she gives them unblockables on tag in like everyone else. if zero’s dive move is an overhead that would probubly be really easy to set up.

Frank has become my new favorite Roll partner.

  • Frank’s 2C can be Team Hyper Combo’ed with Roll’s Super Broom. Since her Super finishes last, Frank can OTG Cart combo the last hit.
  • Roll’s Assist works well with Frank’s ground combos. Frank’s 5C (golf club) is OTG which can be combo’ed into Roll’s assist giving Frank enough time to link OTG cart.
  • Roll’s bucket makes for a great addition to Frank’s keep-throw-shit-at-you game.

I guess my only issue is that I can’t find too many setups with Roll actually being in the front. I’m sure there are some out there.
