seems like frank can use her well, i might have to mess with him a bit.
you can probubly do rolls supers into franks grab super even on block? since you cant jump it. only questionable thing is the blockstun

nah, it doesn’t work on block. the blockstun is a bit too much.
i even tried timing it on the last broom hit before the homerun swing. doesn’t seem to be very effective
Anybody know if viewtiful joes assist would work with roll?
nope probubly not at all.
i dont think it works with anybody really. its got some gimmick value thats about it. to use it consistantly and well you would have to be a super genius or something.
Ill be sticking with Casshern for this game as well. Been working well so far
I wanna find a character with higher hp, and is not Soki or Tekkaman, for my partner for Roll, any suggestions? right now I’m pretty good with V. Joe, but not a lot of chemestry between them.
the only amusing thing with v.joe assist for roll, is a standing fierce, with her broom sends the bomb bouncing all over the place on the other side of the screen…rather grimmicky…
I’m thinking about using Roll as my partner for VJ right now. Her assist is just absolutely godlike in a pressure/rush-down scenario, and being able to VAR into her to do awesome air combos if she has a charged broom is sexy as hell. I haven’t really worked much on bomb assist combos yet, though. They are generally ridiculously hard to pull off (10x moreso in real games) and the bomb’s damage was reduced significantly… to the point that you could possibly do more damage if you don’t bother using it.
I’ma keep playing around with VJ/Roll and see if I can come up with anything fun on Roll’s side. I already have a bunch of tricks on VJ’s side using her assist, though
I find VJ’s best assist are characters that can help him combo off his Bazooka Gun Super. Polimar’s assist is great for this. Simply go into BnB and assist as 5C comes out.
The only 3 characters I like using as of now is Roll, Jun, and T.Blade and believe Roll and Jun have the best chemistry. Roll is a great pressure character with her j.C having the range of God and the speed of Zeus. My main strategy is to start the game with Roll, begin pressure, and tag in Jun in opportune moments. Since Jun’s assist leaves bombs on hit I usually keep going with Roll until the opponent has 5 bombs placed.
I’m not sure what Roll and T.Blade can do. If T.Blade has a ground block string going, Roll’s assist helps well with his 236 B/C cross-up game.
SamuraiPanda: I’m not positive (can’t test this as of now) but can Joe combo 6-Shot Cannon Super from Roll’s assist? Roll’s water buckets cause stumble animation, and I know Joe’s 6-Shot has sped up from last game. I also believe 6-Shot Cannon causes automatic knockdown so it may be possible for Roll to DHC Roll Sweep Super afterwards if there’s enough time.
i’ve tested it a little bit ago, and yes, it IS possible to combo six cannon from roll’s assist and even get some roll sweeps in there
i made a post about it in joe’s thread:
I haven’t gotten into using assists a whole lot! Most people will probably Mega Crash you if your combo starts to go on for long.
I like to cover Rolls deficiencies with Megaman Volnutt. Roll tends to need to get in close to be able to attack effectively, and against certain characters, that can be rough! D: Megaman can launch a barrage of weak yet effective attacks from across the arena.
I’ve been using souki/roll forever now. They work very well together, can cancel souki’s fire sword into roll sweep. Roll help’s extend his combos as well. Roll and Souki also seem to both do well against different type of opponents, I use souki for more range oriented opponents and roll for more melee opponents. Souki’s assist covers roll’s entire hit box, though I haven’t found a serious use for it yet. Also you can DHC roll’s sweep/souki’s fire sword and souki will lift the opponent off the ground, roll will hit with sweep and right as sweep ends souki’s sword will crash. They seem to work well together for me
