Resistors are on the board

Email Susan she will adjust the bill for first class mail for silent pads

possible to track a shipping?

armi/Bryan:

Can you clarify this point for me…
The Crown CWJ-303J is basically the Crown CWJ-303FK with a different shaft that has 6mm threading to enable handle replacements?
All those numbers and designations give me a headache… Even brain-freeze after eating ice cream fast is more pleasant!
I just got used to the crazy naming scheme Seimitsu uses for its product, guys…
These Asian companies make naming conventions more complicated than they have to be… <lol and cry>

Hey @armi0024, I placed an order last week to be shipped out on Tuesday (per Susan) but I haven’t received a tracking number yet. Could you please clarify when I should expect my shipment? The order number is PWKFBPZBU. Thank you in advance.

sorry guys, I think Susan contact you inendoi

Georgec, yes the CWJ-303J is the crown stick with a 6mm threading

dej, you should have a tracking number, let me know if you don’t but email is the best way to ask, we need order number or name.

Finally, we are looking at making some support pages,
Here is one on hit box silencers (posted before) : http://support.paradisearcadeshop.net/doku.php?id=silent_pads_in_a_hit_box
Here is another one on actuators : http://support.paradisearcadeshop.net/doku.php?id=actuators_explained

If anyone is interested in helping out, @georgec can write the phd dissertation on ball tops, let me know! Anyone who ā€œjoinsā€, ie send me an email with what you want for logon info, can post, but I’m also open to a few ā€œadministratorsā€ if anyone is interested. I also thought this would be great way for people to share their projects.

@armi0024 - Susan did indeed email me with a tracking number. She’s the best. Thank you, guys.

I laughed at this part…

I guess it’s a sign that I’m growing up that I can take a good ribbing like that once in a while.

>I’m still a Toys 'R Us Kid at heart, though.<

I’m still playing videogames 30 years later after all!

@georgec it was a bit of a ribbing but you know balltops!

Anyone can set up an account and start editing: http://support.paradisearcadeshop.net/
Yes as admin I can ā€œeditā€ and I would like to keep links coming back my way, but my goal is informative, so if you present The Link, then you would have to link somewhere else… for now

Thanks a ton for the page on actuators, its very helpful! Armi could you compare the seimitsu LS-56’s Matsushita switch’s actuation distance to the other microswitches you have available? I want to switch out the stock switches but I don’t want to loose the quick engage of the stick.

I’l work on it pnoy

So we had an idea… after a few years of selling 1m long wires with connectors on the ends, I had a revelation. While I was looking at a fight stick the other day, it occurred to me… who in the work uses 1m of wire each time!!! So we contacted our distributor, did some pricing and figured out we can sell 1 wire with 2 quick connects on it for the same price! So now if you are using 1m, the cost is the same, you just cut a connector off, but if you are using less than 1/2m then it’s like a two for one every time you buy! Speaking of which its time to change the coupon code, on 9/10 I will update it so all wires are 2 for 1 until the single connector wires are sold out!

Armi, can we get more details on the Kaimana? Specifically, what it can do and a video demonstrating its prowess?

With the teaser video of the Chameleon, I’m kinda leaning towards it for my LED PCB dollars…

People are asking for the details of the Kaimana so here we go
It will be fully compatible with Pele’s, Uila’s and our new LED line. (you will also be able to use several other LEDs from other vendors, we will post a list as they are tested)

Here’s the details:
We will have 15 inputs, Inputs will include:
Start, Select, Home, Up, Down, Left, Right
1p, 2p, 3p, 4p
1k, 2k,3k, 4k

How many LEDs can you control with Rgb animation control?
We have tested the board with LED strips with up to 100 LEDs. The pinball machine movies I posted earlier were running off a Kaimana.
Current concepts and released boards aside from the Kaimana can run one action per a port. So if you take the Remora for example: there are 8 RGB outputs so you can control 8 buttons. If you watch the Chameleon video he talks about plugs for all 11 buttons, the joystick and an extra one for an added light around the stick. The limitation is how many RGB connections are on the board.

The Kaimana uses integrated circuits into the LED boards themselves. The Kaimana board produces a signal at a extremely high rate (1000’s of times per second) that travels into the daisy chain of LEDs. The first LED takes this signal, grabs it’s color, passes the signal on and displays it’s color. This happens at the second, third, etc… The limitation for number of LEDs is basically how many leds your stick can power. Basically you can do this with the board

This board is really only limited by power and imagination. We have plans to launch several add ons that will blow people away. So why the hype an hold up? We had a few snags with PCB manufacturing and cabling. Final cables are in, and final boards are in! However, I am getting ready to do a medical mission trip and I don’t want Susan being the only support for the launch. So, we are going to sell less than 10 kits to a select group of people. These people will be free to share their videos, pictures, etc and help us get ready for a full launch on October 15th. We received the cables yesterday and now have enought supplies for about 250 set ups starting on the 15th.

For anyone interested in getting a head start… Pele will have a direct plug and play adapter board, and Uilas will be usuable with a crimped fitting, so you can build ahead and light them up when we do the full release.

I installed Little Kahunas in some Seimitsu buttons and they are quiet as a mouse now. Substantially more quiet than a stock button. I highly recommend them to anyone looking into silent buttons.

Its about damn time amri LOL. So 10/15/13 is the day. Looks like I will be buying some pele’s this weekend and waiting on the LED board. So will I need the harness for the pele’s or will you still provide them with the board. Just wanted to know before I pruchase the Pele’s

thanks for the update.

Pele harnesses will be an addon for the adapter board, It sounds a bit involved but it’s going to be very very easy to hook these up.

Believe me, no one is more frustrated with products not getting out than me. I have dozens of ideas we can’t get to because we are still trying to get these finished up!!!

I can’t find it so i dunno if it was mentioned, but what’s a rough approx. on the kaimana board’s physical dimensions?

Finally Armi! This is what I wanted to hear. Great news.

Interesting. Based on what you said, the Kaimana would be excellent for case lighting effects. I plan to incorporate it into my modded EVO stick (has a translucent case).

I too would like to know the Kaimana’s dimensions.

Also, whats this medical mission trip you speak of? Are you ill?

About 1 1/4" x 3 1/4"
There will be a few options at first, .100 headers, solder holes, and/or screw terminals
It is set up with a pass through so you can run your exisiting PS360+ wires in one side and just connect new short wires between the Kaimana and the PS360+ on the other. The pin outs are made to mate. (not in size, but in order)

I’m not ill,(but thank you for the concern  ) I’m going to do a medical out reach trip with Shriner’s Hospital down to the South Pacific

I’ve played with 3 different brands of switches on the LS-56. Omron, Matsushita, and Cherry. They all engage about the same, what makes the LS series of sticks so fast is the placement of the switches and the levers. Right now I’m using the the Ormon switches, but I put in the tension plates from the Matsushita because the force to activate the Omron didn’t feel tense enough. While quieter, it turns out I like the stock switch tension, but ended up killing the other switches so I swapped some of the internal parts.

For what it’s worth, the internals between Gersung, Matsushita, and Omron are all relatively the same. Most of the parts are nearly identical, what separates them is the actuation force and the quality of the plastic housing. Omron has the best quality plastic, with Matsushita and Gersung being nearly identical. The internals are all equally as high quality as the other, you can mix and match however you wish. This goes for Omron switches made in Japan and Indonesia, no difference between the quality of the switches even though most would be biased to think the Japanese Omron switches are superior. Equal quality between the 3 major Asian switches.

Cherry is a totally different design, actuates about the same but the pin is a little bit taller, so it gets pressed in earlier. While I like them, I feel they’re much better for buttons considering 75 grams is a bit too light for joystick usage IMO. You could pop in a replacement spring for more tension if you really wanted to use low force switches. They’re great quality but because of the difference in design, you can’t swap the internals out with other switches. I also don’t recommend opening them, they’re extremely volatile little switches and the springs will pop out easy and they’re a huge pain in the ass to put back together. Zippy has a similar design, but not quite the same so you can’t swap internals. Zippy is pretty decent, too, believe it or not. I just don’t use them because the only ones I have are 20 gram switches, which are not my preference.

And credit for those Kahuna’s that iNendoi put in goes to Moonchilde

We need to get that commentary on LS-56 mods on the support page
