OMG 0_0 I HONESTLY did not expect you to anti-air like that. That’s definitely awesome stuff. I would upload it as a singular video, but I’ll just put it in tomorrow’s Daily Blast.
After what happened at NCR I felt this needed to be done; I showed the Jin/Nina Pandora combo that Momochi did, and then I showed what should’ve been done
That anti air was smooth!
Nice video JST, this needs to be featured especially on eventhubs.
Thanks for all the support guys =] I didn’t consider submitting it, but if you guys do then maybe something will happen. Also, i’m still hoping my 3rd Pandora compilation vid will get featured as well
Check it out, starting around 6:40 is where it happened, I was right about the crouching mk-
Check out Ep 7 of my Daily Blast show. A hell of a lot of stuff in this one, so I hope people like it
At what percentage of opponent health do you think it is a good idea to activate Pandora?
Find a combo with it, remember how much damage it does off various hitconfirms and off a jump in/punish, and activate accordingly (make sure to check if they have any defense/regen gems still not activated since that can mess you up big time if you dont count for the extra 100 ‘invisible’ hp they might still have) or if you play a someone x Akuma situation then you can also activate pandora straight into raging demon if someone’s right next to you at 330 or less hp (or if you give akuma pandora/super dmg boost gems then even more, I think you can get the damage up to around 50% more if im right?)
I would turn it around. I don’t think it’s a good idea to activate Pandora if your opponent has more than 50% health. The rest depends on the situation. If it’s the last round and you have 15 seconds left and no meter, sometimes Pandora is your only chance. Even if it is a slim chance at winning.
I make it a habit of looking at the timer when my opponent has less than 40% health and one of my chars has less than 25% health. If the timer is at 25 seconds or more I start considering Pandora. Between 15 and 25 seconds I definitely want to use Pandora if I have no meter.
At less than 10 seconds I don’t use Pandora unless it’s a quick kill. I.e. less than 3 seconds. (Chip damage kill or something like that) If my opponent has only pixels left and does a jump in I’ve done Pandora with one char and used the better anti air of the second char.
I’ve always believed that the ideal conditions are when at least one of your characters is less than 25%, and one or both of their characters is at 50% or less, with 30-15 seconds left on the timer. Anything else will be too clutch or will require a specific set up or jump in combo. But yeah Nerfherder is right also, it definitely depends on the situation
Thanks guys, I had an another video featuring some Pandoras, but it looks like JusticeSoul went ahead and posted it already, lol.
About when to use Pandora, it’s really situational. Specially when both of my characters are below 25% HP, I always pay an extra attention to what my opponent will do. If he likes to press too much buttons on wakeup or jump, for example, Pandora is really effective, as long as your opponent’s health isn’t too high by the moment. And as long as you don’t plan to use Pandora > Super with a char who has a really long Super (like Jin), it’s fine to use it with less than 10 secs left on the timer, as there are still a lot of options available depending on the situation. I had many Pandora victories with 1-3 secs left on the timer. Not saying there aren’t any risks (It’s Pandora after all) , but if you know what you’re doing, it may work. Knowing your opponent’s habits helps a lot as well, of course.
When you might want to refrain from using Pandora is when you have meter, specially if it’s on the first round, and your opponent has a lot of health still. Even if you land a high damaging combo on him, if you don’t win he can just use Pandora too (or stuffs like Raw Tag depending on the distance) and most likely you will lose the round .
Almost had a Pandora win tonight.
Did Pandora too late off Juri’s j.HP ground bounce, whiffed.
I wanted to cry in a corner. T.T
I do need to get this back in my mind though. I’ve been kinda’ ignoring Pandora for a while since I was working on other things I’ve been lacking in.
I think I’m going to try to force myself to use Pandora more often just so I can get some practice. As a lot of people have said earlier, it’s a tough thing to “practice” against the computer.
Check it out guys!!! Some guy’s done what I’ve wanted to do for ages, he did Pandora combos for damn near every character/team. I made a blog post about it so you can see it here:
Also, check out today’s Daily Blast, it features some of peck324’s Pandora combos, among other surprises.
Would you believe that EVEN NOW people say Pandora is useless/ ‘no one’ uses it? It’s so stupid >_> Jeez, the evidence is THERE and now it’s not just ‘random, scrubby online play’ or whatever, it’s happening in tournaments. Yet some people STILL refuse to acknowledge it
its because u dont play with me and alpha anymore
Lool random scrubby online play? I would love to here that guys opinion about x-factor.
Edit: Oh I have noticed something, but didn’t ask or verify it yet. But if the sacrificed character has gems activated, they get transfered to the other character right? At least it looks like that in a bunch of videos.
I don’t think so. The only thing the incoming Pandora character gets is the life combined. The only gems they have activated are the ones they already had before the Pandora, so I don’t think gems transfer.
Aaaaaand speaking of Pandora, check out today’s Daily Blast episode:
