As part of my ‘Best of JST 2012’ video series, I gathered together the best SFxT content I’ve made this year, some of which you’ve seen and some which you may not have seen. Hey folks! I’ve been testing around with what to do with Ibuki after Wallbounce into pandora but i could not find anything execpt raw super. Anyone got some good pandora setups/combos für ibuki as a partner ?

You may have to hold onto that thought for a sec…considering the potential news we just got, anything we tell you may or may not make a difference. My only advice to you right now is to read Vulcan Hades very first post and watch the videos. I will say that normally off of a wall bounce raw super, moves that can move forward and catch the bounced opponent or dashing up with the right timing or gems can work. That’s usually the best you can do off of a wall bounce, but I do recommend checking all these videos and stuff for better ideas.

That does mean that some of the info here is obsolete. But not all I would say. Starting with a full bar makes some things easier. Or new things possible. Theoretically you could do a 6 bar combo. With Juri/Cammy this should be possible:
(Cammy) EX hooligan --> ex Cannon strike (cross up?) --> st. cl. HK x jump cancel x EX cannon strike; st. cl. HK x jump cancel x Pandora (switch to Juri) Super art.
How much damage would THAT do. And it requires 5 bars to pull off. Of course I can’t test this until January 29th. I’m also guessing the timing would be very strict. It’s also too bad the super art gem doesn’t work in Pandora anymore. ;-( Got quite some mileage out of that one.

The more health you had the less damage you did. It wasn’t fixed at x1.15 even though it says so in the manual AND the guide.

10 second long active…hmmm, 12 would be better, should cover most super animations…I think?

2f reduction on start up? So when I trap someone on activation properly…escape attempts will be unlikely…
Instant MAX super on activation…Awesome, again the trap thing will work better, and EX combos will be available instantly.

I can work with these changes. Damage Boost gem plus Pandora Extend won’t be necessary to make this fly, the non recharging meter, Damage gem boost/Pandora Extend won’t feel so X-Factor like…

They improved Pandora with how you set it up, and without making it completely lazy comeback mechanic.:tup:

Yeah, I agree there. It does suck that some of the things we did before will be obsolete, but it’ll be interesting seeing where things go from here and discovering new stuff.

Does this mean that the +20% damage when performing super gem won’t work anymore in 2013 IOW no more +50% or more overall damage boost in Pandora? Thoughts?

Super Arts performed during Pandora will not activate gems with the following conditions:

Yeah, pretty much it wont activate while in Pandora.

I guess potential 6 Bars and better(?) positioning is a cool trade for losing out on some really strong pandora gems.

Just thought about something. You could do a reworked p-dora combo. Take off 40-60% (hopefully). Ten get a grab to take off health. Then again there not enough time and that is way too situational for what i’m thinking. Man i want those gems stats back.

I created this thread at a time where everyone was doing their wishlist for 2013 and a lot of people wanted Pandora to get buffed a lot because they thought it was useless. The whole point of this thread was to tell them: “Guys, Pandora doesn’t need to get buffed. It’s already pretty good and usable as is, yall just need to explore it a little more and use your imagination. Here are some practical examples of how Pandora can be used in combos and outside of combos.”

So I was only trying to educate and share what was known about the mechanic so that maybe, just maybe, people wouldn’t push too much for Capcom to buff Pandora and turn it into something possibly broken. My efforts were probably in vain though because they still buffed Pandora. So now only time will tell if the 2013 changes make pandora broken or not.

But I don’t think there’s something wrong in encouraging players to explore a mechanic.

imo the new changes aren’t too bad and better than most of you seem to think. 2 frames faster + partner appears closer + instant full meter = a ton of new combo and punish possibilities. The only thing I’m kinda worried about is how much the teleport was affected. But overall pandora will be better not worse.

But yeah, this is pretty much the reason why I stopped exploring Pandora or anything else. I had a feeling they would change things up so I wanted to wait for the update to explore things and matchups again.

On Dawgtanian’s Twitter ( twitter.com/capcomdawg ) he mentions you appear in the same spot as the sacrificed character. Does this mean any jumping hard attack, then Pandora on landing, will let you get crazy BS damage lol? Things just got a whole lot scarier.

as someone who uses pandora and the gems i like everything i see, like others have said the instant meter and distance change will make it more legit. Will miss the 100% comebacks vs mashers but if they fix the BS ill b happy to get beat by legit play.

…Just to clarify, are you being serious, or are you joking somehow? Cause in the first place I put your name in the video because it was about the ‘contributors’. Were it not for you starting this thread and posting some videos then obviously I wouldn’t have had some of the clips needed or the ideas to make new videos. And considering how successful this thread, the collab and the vids in general have been, the least I can do is include in the list of people who made it possible. I mean, I get if you don’t want me to put your name in anything else (I wouldn’t do it unless you were directly involved), but I’d be lying if I said that I’m not a little bit bothered by that comment =/ Cause it makes me sound like I’m dumb or something…But if you didn’t mean it that way then fair enough.

But I guess like Vulcan mentioned, the point of this thread and its videos was to prove that Pandora wasn’t useless. Mission accomplished really. And though I feel like once Pandora’s easier to do (seemingly, from the changes) then I perhaps won’t be that useful since loads of people will make videos if they jump on it, which I’m sure they will. I was at least glad to have done all this. I suppose this means I just gotta figure out new stuff, whether I make a difference or not we’ll have to see, haha.
