haha…ironic how talking about the death of pali has kinda brought this thread back to life…
i think a major part of why the scene is dying is that lots of us move outta the pali area when school starts so constant comp is only found during winter/summer breaks…when we’re all back, it hardly seems dead…
btw, the arcade itself has ALWAYS been shit…so im not surprised about that at all…o well…maybe we could what we did up here in boston and chip in to buy 360s and buttons and have the arcade guy install them…then we gotta come up with some security feature against 8 year old mashers…

so wats gonna be goin down at thanksgiving?? is there gonna be a tournament for anything? i think i might be bak home for the entire week im gonna have a lot of time for sessions if theres gonna be any (mvc2, cvs2, and 3s) i prefer 3s now cuz ive been playing almost every day and tryin to get urien to do his tackles about 5 times in a combo… but no luck yet… got off 2 in a row once tho

I’m down for cvs2, shit even mvc2. I’m pretty much giving up on GGXX. Every place that gets a box for it has no comp, and i cant play it on a stick anyway. So fuck it for a while.
So there are three options for places we can play at. Either it will be at X-Zone, somebody’s house, or some decent arcade in the area.
Last time at X-Zone, we each paid the $5 once and they let us stay the whole night. Is that how it usually goes down, 'cause that’s good IMO?
Getting together at somebody’s house would probably be the best thing, since it is free, but obviously, we need hosts. I don’t think my folks would be cool with it. Any other volunteers?
And as for playing at another arcade, meh, I don’t really know. What do y’all think?

theres the arcade option…which is HIGHLY risky due to unreliable/shitty controls…then theres someones house…of which we have never actually done…and then theres OB/XZ which both require money to be paid and we still need to provide the equipment…XZ is far cheaper than OB and after you pay, the owners just leave you alone…plus, i dont mind playing there at all…so i think thats the best and most accessible option…
but like i said before, im not gonna bring back any sticks, but i can def bring any dc game…so if we do this i want some guarantees that there will be sticks…
ugh…it seems I may be spending my weekend at Avenue C, which is like 10 mins away from chinatown. So…might not be at Palisades on fri. Unless the mystery man tom decides to post, that ho. :mad:
well the sticks work real good right now. went there one night found em busted, saw the guy and he fixed em on the spot.
so yeah they could be broken now already but if you find em broken and see that guy, just tell him. hes really cool and will actually fix that shit right there and then.
