Again, and…? It doesn’t matter where Bin Laden was from. The country was harbouring Bin Laden everyone knew that. The Doctor snitched and directed another country regarding his whereabouts without directive from his own Government, in turn putting the country’s security and whatever international credibility the country had at risk. <-- Read that last sentence again and look up the definition of treason. There’s really no debate here.
Now, whether the Doctor was justified or not for doing so is a separate issue.
Treason? It’s fucking Pakistan. Got people in the military and government doing that every five minutes, publicly. They’re going on the doctor because he helped the US. Chances are he isn’t dead because those two couldn’t agree with each other on even that.

Also, while I wish we could stop giving them money, our country currently does not have the balls to do that. Pakistan wants more money. Chances are, they’ll get it.

i’ve just heard that the US has cut aid to pakistan by 33 million, thats one million for every year of the doctor’s 33-year sentence for treason. thats still not enough, they should cut aid completely.
pakistan is a terrorist state, it’s not particularly surprising that they threw the guy in jail that helped kill their terrorist house guest.

him informing the US government of Bin Ladens location isnt snitching. He didnt obtain Bin Laden’s location by stealing it from the Pakistani government.

The Country knew where Bin Laden was but were feigning ignorance to the West. The Doctor then discloses Bin Laden’s location without directive from the Country behind their back. It is snitching because it exposes their lies.
Whether or not he stole information directly from the government is of no consequence. Stop being stupid.
The doc should have played it smart and only given up the information when he and his family were chilling in a condo stateside with a generous stipend of course.

it doesnt matter if the Pakistan government knew where Bin Laden was. The doctor did not work for the government nor did he disclose the information of Bin Laden’s whereabouts behind their back, thats why we know his identity.
He was being paid by the US government not the Pakistan government therefore he had no reason to disclose the information to the Pakistan authorities before informing the US, and if you’d even read the story you’d know that he wasnt jailed for treason by the “Pakistan government”, it was some BS tribal court.
Is this supposed to make sense?
Pakistan receives over a Billion dollars in aid from the US for the sole purpose of tackling terrorism and thats why the Pakistan government could not and did not charge him for treason. If he had been tried by a national court, the penalty for treason would most likely have been death, or to a lesser extent, a life sentence, not 33years in prison.
We should stop giving aid to countries to buy friends, it is clearly not working. I am not surprised that he didn’t get asylum or reward money. See if anyone gives out information of that caliber in the future, knowing that they will receive no protection afterwards.
It seems to work more often than not, but I think giving them more than 200million, let alone a Billion is just too excessive.
