That Evangelion one is damn good lol
Wow. After watching that Evangelion mock trailer it makes me realize how much PR is obviously inspired by it. (I’ve only watched a handful of episodes personally)

I’m sure PR won’t have a whiny emo protagonist, gratuitous use of Judeo-Christian imagery and a nonsensical ending, though. 
My biggest worry though is that Rinko Kikuchi isn’t endowed enough for that “Gainax bounce.”

I haven’t watched a movie in IMAX since I was a kid seeing some documentary at a museum, but this movie looks like IMAX or nothing.
The 70s giant robot-inspired design is cool, but I’d damn near piss myself if the robots had a more industrial mecha look to them, like Armored Core, Metal Gear Rex etc.
Ooooh okay so the pilots are inside the robots after all. That’s much better than remoting from a bunker like I originally thought.
The closest “true” IMAX theater is 4 hrs away. It’s going to be hard to justify it if the movie is just alright. Typically, I go after the 1st viewing just to see if it is worth the trip. Last movie I did that for was TDKR. I saw Skyfall in a IMAX theater, but the screen was about 15 feet smaller. However, it was just an hour away. You gotta pick your battles . . . .
I felt so reassured when that was made clear in the most recent trailer. Putting the character in danger just hypes up the suspense factor.
They HAVE to be inside anyways…the last thing I’d want to do is have this huge fight and lose due to lag and latency…
