This might just mean some tighter block strings for cammy and her dive kick, if thats the case we might not have to use tick throws

i know this is kinda OT, but did anyone notice the amount of Vega players yesterday on xbox live?

I fought about 9 or 10 different ones and a few of them back to back. It was kinda shocking to see that many G1 vegas at once.

too bad they never stood a chance. :x

pc status is so different. played some championship and got ONLY and ONLY 3 ryu 5 kens 1-2 akumas

guessing im the only non shoto cammy player left lol

anyone else use early tkcs’s during oki tricks as bait?

i’m not the greatest at the delayed tkcs so i tend to use this to bait so i can follow with:

a second tkcs to beat throws.
a cannon spike to beat jab mashing or throws or a lot of characters non ex reversals.
a throw to beat db.
or just block to beat reversal dp’s.

what are your thoughts on this? should i limit this mixup and work more on my delayed tkcs execution? what are some reversal baits that you guys use?

I wish I get to play more Vega players on XBL… I hardly ever get to play one on XBL. I’ve seen more Claws on PSN than on XBL.

I honestly don’t know how to play against Vega. There’s a guy here in SD that plays Vega, so I have a little experience, but I don’t have a set strategy. I played Tatsu once, and I wasn’t in the right spirits to play him. I think I can do better this time.

Maybe I’ll run into him at the activegamersLA tournament. Any other Cammy players going?

I saw shocked to see them myself. vega seems to be an easy matchup if you stay on them and bait them. tkcs mixups work wonders and a well-timed sa against their backflips.

I’ve seen loads of Vegas on PSN today. And some Goukens, couple of Gens, and even a few Dhalsims. Its been quite varied in between the Ryu and Ken army.

Also noticed today Cammy’s crouch HP, close MP and close HP are better anti-jump-in moves than I thought, been having fun testing those out today.

Depends on how the Vega plays honestly, the ones that keep going for the wall dive can be cannon spiked to death. Smart ones tend to use the range on his pokes to do the dirty work and throw out the dive/throw only when they think they can get away with it, esp the ex version which knocks you into the air for a free throw.

I don’t really have any set strategy either just get in there and don’t let him get up once you get a knock down.

yeah most of the time I go for my dive kick shenanigans. Vega doesn’t seem to have a strong anti-air move, so I take advantage of it. Watching Yeb beast onTatsu gives me an idea on how to fight Vega. I don’t have anyone to test it out on though haha.

I use close MP against cross up jump ins. A lot of people go “wtf?” when I do it. close HP is a good move for the shallow jump ins. I’ve even used close HK as an anti air.

Close HK isn’t that good though. I hope it gets Gen’s anti air kick properties…

I got a friend thats a pro vega player on xbox live, he beat yipes and Iloveu Joe’s viper. I think his id is"pillsbury", in all honesty he play very differently than everybody else

Good stuff man, I see you around, but rarely see you play. Beating IoveuJoe’s Sagat is no easy task. Especially for Cammy.

Has there been a discussion on counter-hit combos yet? I know Cammy is not a shining example of ground normals like her CvS2 counterpart but there are instances where you should be fishing for standing normal counter hits. The two normals I fish for counter hits with the most are cr. strong and close st. fierce, and off both you can link normals that wouldn’t work normally.

Here are my general counter hit combos:

close St. HP(counter hit), cr. MP, SA
Cr. MP(counter hit), cr. MK, SA

in matchups counter hit fishing works best vs. Rog in my opinion. Discuss!!!

I Usually fish for counter hits using standing and crouching strong, on counter hit - it can be linked into cr fierce to land our best combo. I’m not sure how you would look for counter hits with close fierce? sounds kind of hard??(can you explain or do you randomly throw it out there?

BTW I’m very interested in this discussion and I think it deserves it’s own thread!

From what I’ve heard that event hubs article was translated twice from japanese to french then to english from its original source and is likely being mistranslated.

I would hope that no one would be so out of touch to think that throws need to be nerfed…there needs to be more to make people play offensively not more reasons to turtle forever.

I ussually set it up after a tkcs, by just delaying it a bit, that way if they mash throw, or mash throw tech it will result in a counter hit. You can also time it as a meaty to beat those options as well. close St. HP works great due to it’s fast recovery, allowing for more advancing after the attack, to follow up with a well times cr. mp also fishing for counter hit, in which I have two opportunities to catch someone if they are mashing.
