My spirit is better because I just got my first overal “tournament” win with Cammy and did it in style: final round, ultra on a whiffed reversal SRK.
I’ve actually been feeling somewhat “on” today. It’s a very nice change of pace.
I’m up to almost 1400 GP now, this is so much better than the old system. I am even starting to combo and I don’t even understand where it is coming from.
I’m guessing it’s either one of two things: motivation or the fact that everyone’s starting on the same level, so you’re getting matchups against people who are competent and actually learn from their mistakes. I find that I tend to fair a lot better when I’m going against people I can actually play mindgames against rather than expecting that outguessing myself into thinking that MAYBE they’ve learned not to keep throwing out SRKs. It’s the flowcharts that are fucking up my mind; I’m starting to get tempted to play as a scrubby Sagat/Gief/Ken/Akuma in ranked to build up some BP and get up to where I can play some “real” games.
Well, my reason could also be because I’m starting to make better use of EX hooligans, tick throws, and punishing SRKs for everything they’re worth. :lol:
(Oh, yeah, I also won the next set of games with a final against Guile. It was fun seeing one that doesn’t just charge DB for FK, SB, and double sweeps.)
Yeah, playing people who just throw stuff out is probably the worst thing for my game. I get terrible habits because I can use stuff that would never work against a good player reliably against most of the people on XBL. I had some good matches today though, so I think the new system is working (atleast for the last two matches, the first match tended to be a cake walk).
Well Im done with my 3rd day of SF4.
Im lovin this update.
Im at 51st place right now with 2073 GP (all with Cammy) and made it to The G2 class tourney (2000 GP to get in and everyone is either pretty good or decent)
Its really cramped at this point. The top 60 something all have 2000+GP and with those players all spaced out we end up playing each other over and over again. Ive already played 3 players at least 3 times out of like the 20 or so matches I’ve had since I got there.
I also got some replays uploaded if anyone wants to see them
Fun stuff though. This game is like crack.
PS. I think Cammy beats Bison matchup wise

i did manage to get a 64 win streak from tournament mode 
I was only able win 40 in a row. Your almost there though Allen. You only need to win about 6 or 7 more tournements to get into G2. Its definetly much harder than G3 as you have to win 4 in row for a tourney and youll be sure to see some good ole fashioned Gief bullshit. (Then again I have only been playing this game and Cammy for 3 days and I haven’t gotten as good as I would want to be)

online giefs are sooo bad. if i SIT there and do absolutely nothing they will jump or try to ex green hand their way in. and with online giefs they are really predictable, esp champ mode ones cuz they are so conditioned to a set pattern, if you play the wait game. they will do ex green hand randomly and free damage for you.
i literally had one game where i do nothing but sit near my c.fwd poke range and just RANDOMLY do c.fwd every like 5 seconds. they always jump, i dont’ even need to wiggle. the match was seriously me landing about 6 cannon spikes, several c.fwd and one walk up throw. i joined that person’s game again later and she kicked me. i agree that match was terribly dumb, but that’s what you should expect when you use gief online.

i actually have a friend that i think has live. i might consider buying a converter and sf4 for xbox.

i have to say, there’s a few flowchart ryu/kens that almost beat me cuz i got super lazy and did wakeup DP everytime and ate a ton of sweeps/throws and then random ultra when i “tried” to get serious.
and also my very first match, i played a cammy that knew tk dives(but that was about it)…and he beat me with blocked drills into DP and won the last round with whiffed lk drill into random ultra. that crushed my spirit a bit.

You can only have one up at a time. If you’re trying to replace one, I can’t answer that; got a ways to go before I’m uploading anything.
EDIT: I’m also pretty sure that you can only upload replays of finals. If I had time right now, I would have learned Dan and started playing right after the update to have a “Dan wins” replay up. I am looking forward to getting a chance to see some Cammy replays with inputs.
So what do you guys prefer to do when you’ve hit a Focus Attack? It’s hard for me to hit Focus Attack --> foward dash --> tk.cs, str. punch --> spiral arrow (add two ex tk.cs with bars before the combo).
Usually I use cr.mp --> spiral arrow. Is there a better alternative combo to this?
You have to buffer the dash when you let the focus attack strike (atleast I have to) and it makes it a lot easier.
