Most of the abilities are based on real abilities or scenes from the actual novel, which is why it looks like a lot of fun for fans.
Battler’s “blasts” are primarily Blue Truth, which becomes his main weapon in the question arcs. (Blue Truth is a supposition that defines a situation if a witch can’t counter it with Red Truth) In the original novel, they’re usually visualized as spikes or a shotgun.
Shannon does actually use barriers as her primary defense and weapon in the novels. Her special involving lightening is a reference to her promise with Beatrice to change her life.
Her brother, Kanon, is made for offense and can manifest an energy sword.
Ronove is actually THE Ronove, marquis of hell and, as Beatrice’s servant, purveyor of all sorts of delicious baked goods.
Ange does use Maria’s diary to summon her friends in the novel.
Virgilia (yes, that is a deliberate reference to the Divine Comedy) can use magic to summon Gungnir in battle.
Chiester 410 is a mercenary under Pendragon of Hell and uses guided shots as her weapon of choice. (They’re supposed to have a near perfect hit rate, but this is a fighting game)
All the moves I’ve seen Beatrice do are directly from the novels. The one where she summons the towers was actually used in her fight against Virgilia.
Eva-Beatrice uses cakes and red webs to kill in the novel as well.
Lucifer the stake is, well, a stake and is the leader of her six other sisters, so it makes sense she would be able to call upon them in battle.

That’s actually a plot point. (But probably not in the way you’re thinking when I point that out.)
It looks like you get both of the character’s abilities when you activate the metaworld. I’m calling it now, Beatrice is going to be top tier because of infinite meter shenanigans.

The 2nd fighting video was amazing… I love how they used Dream End Discharger for the background music, I can’t wait to see what other choices they made for the music. My highest bets go with ??? for Siesta410 and Happiness of Marionette for EVA-BEATRICE.
Yeah, Happiness of Marionette is pretty much a given for Evatrice, I’m guessing battler will get either Endless Nine or Dread of the Grave. No idea what the theme for anyone else could be though, specially Ronove.
