Ougon Musou Kyoku - Umineko no Naku Koro ni Doujin Fighter ABC Yuu Agin

2nd hit of 6b is an overhead

ronove - while running and doing his 22+a/b/c: he slides towards you and makes the doge movement longer than normal

“c” version is nice.

Fuzzy guard stuff. From what i’ve tested only these characters majorly benefit from it.

Ougon is an ok game. I’ve figured out a lot of things with the mix-up material already. I feel there isn’t enough to be a deep game, but I still am having a little bit of fun with it, regardless. Characters kinda feel too alike in many ways. I do like to basically just troll with Beatrice/Virgilia. lol Also, I tried online but I knew it would suck because I’m at a resort hotel with shitty internet.

Anyway, Arcana Heart 3? comes out in 13 days. So, I don’t really care about this game at all.

We are not expecting it (especially not in this version) to even come close to the mature, polished titles, but it’s fun for totally different reasons- Mainly exploring a new engine with new mechanics and discovering stuff yourself. (Usually the Japanese arcade goers discover everything before we can get our hands on a console version…)
It’s an enriching experience IMO.

Back to topic-

I think there’s a rule of “you can’t use the same super twice in a combo” but using “dash cancel” cancels this rule.

can’t play online for some reason, 10 seconds after match starts the game disconnects, tried with several ppl, same problem :frowning:
anyone else experienced that?

Gee, i suck.
I just now realized this game has dash canceling.
Sure opens up a lot more possibilities.

You know, comparing the third game of a popular saga with a game with two days in public is not too fair. For a lot of people Arcana 1 (the first versión, not patched, not Full) was “an ok game”. Ougon is pretty interesting, i dont know if is going to get better in the future but for know, i still love it.

I love how zoning and pressure are strong in this, and the meter management is good. With more releases and stuff this could end up quite awesome. Loving Shannon/Kanon, and to a lesser extent, Virgilia, Siesta and Ange.

The period where you can gatling/special cancel is small, like in SF4, unlike in BB.

I really like doing stuff like sweep->moves like shannon’s bird special or Siesta’s “late” arrow specials.

I disagree. Not everything has to have 30-50% damage combos off every hit. The whole thing nice about this is that it’s something different: More guard crush based, tagging based on meter/special, gatlings and special cancels up the ass and yet it has no airblocking and only one character can airdash, jumping is risky when many characters have meter but many characters lack reliable anti airs, footsies is quite important, matches take longer than most games without being boring.

I mainly just wish there were some character adjustments and throws did more damage or something.
It’s also strange how few moves are good on wakeup, but…i’m kind of ok with that.

Makes me think of the first Melty, it took quite the leap with ReACT
and i honestly feel this is a better start than what we got in the first Melty.
And of course this game has yet to even recieve a patch and is still pretty solid,
so let’s just let time take its course and see.

Is anyone else having huge problems with pressing two/three attack buttons at the same time? The timing seems incredibly strict.

Yes… specially Online. Obligatory hotkey use in this game.

And is there any in-game way to set those?

Someone did a dump of the STEF doc

Rena? Crossover? Heck yeah!
Guess that explains who the bottom coffin belongs to.

Credit for this awesome discovery goes to U Metal of Doujinstyle.

Of course it’s just her name, Ryukishi may just be trollin’ as usual with this one considering Bern was actually found
on the character select screen (on the upper row middle coffin no less), has a portrait to go along with it
and a standing sprite that was found searching through the game files,
while Rena only got her name.

For those who are trying to play with keyboard and want to configure it, whoever you are: Here’s a little thing from someone on irc:
RAW OUTPUT AMP6wiT9

In game? Well, the launcher lets you set arcade stick/gamepad hotkeys when you click on the stick/pad’s little name that it detects.

Yes:

The last three options are hotkeys: A+B, B+C and A+B+C.

Maybe you cant see the kanjis because you need Unicode set in Japanese, my Windows 7 is already in Japanese so…

Your config window actually shows the japanese text. I don’t know why mine doesn’t. :frowning: Do I have to do some compatibility thing for Windows 7?

Anyways, I don’t know why people complain about the simple chain combos into knockdown. No one ever played Vampire Savior?

The flow of the game seems to be about chaining into 2C or something for knockdown, then using all the weird oki/pressure moves to find a way to combo into a tag out, continue the combo, dash cancel, meta, and then use your big doom attack as an ender. It is kinda linear, but it doesn’t mean there’s not potential or that it isn’t fun still.

The problems I do have are just random things about moves. Like I wish Luci’s 3C Launcher was easier to chain into. So far it only seems to work from a close 5C, and adding anything else makes it not reach. Though 5C Meta Activate 3C seems to work better. I’ve been trying to do: Partner combo’s tag out to Luci, 5b 5C dash cancel 5C Meta 3C Meta Super thingy. But 3C just seems to act up or not work like I think it would most of the time.

Other moves just seem weird/completely useless: Chiester410’s 6C 2 hitter uppercut thing. Looks like a launcher. No real way to use it in chains as far as I remember. Probably need to go back into the lab.

If you want to combo into Lucifers 3C you can do:

2AA, 5B, 5C(2 hits) xx dash far 5C, 3C

Don’t know you would though. Launchers are pretty much pointless in this game (even though Lucifer is the only character that represents some sort of juggle.)

Ok so my brother got me this (YES!) but before we start…
Do I need to change something?
If I have to where? What do I need?
Thanks in advance xD

For academic reasons?

I know it’s mostly useless. Well, actually, if they get stunned can’t you juggle them more? Dammit, why am I not testing this stuff??
