selling stuff to the community at a large discount makes no sense. cmon guys this is some retarded sense of entitlement, all cuz you spent 2 dollars a session… thats already godlike on its own; they could be charging wayyyy more for entry or buttons. put the money towards equipment etc. who knows this location is not permanent, in the future maybe money will be needed to get something bigger rolling…
the bottom line is nothing is way overpriced, y’all are just being cheap about it. whose to say some people dont abuse a heavily discounted price and run hq funds into the ground. In all honesty, everything is more than fair and these guys volunteer their time and get nothing in return. Think about that firstly…
What basis would you say that selling it discounted would run hq into the ground? Buttons and microswitches are not drinks, they are a necessity for the community to play. The sense of entitlement comes from the fact that the $2 is supposed to be community money. It is not the hq directors money, it’s the communities money. People keep bringing the fact that they are volunteering into this. That has nothing to do with this. We all acknowledge that they are not trying to turn a profit from this. So saying that people who constantly bring their sticks to hq and have broken buttons shouldn’t get discounted, if not free, buttons (that were bought with communities money) while implying that people are being cheap is just a retarded sense of who ‘owns’ the money.
How would anyone in this community abuse getting a replacement button for their stick? It’s not like someone is suddenly going to start breaking 6 buttons a session so that they can sell them on ebay. Be realistic as to the motives of people suggesting this. This isn’t some huge community where everyone is a stranger. There’s no flood gate being opened that could potentially break some imagined dam. We’re not considering relaxing immigration policies or drug laws.
I would glady have 1/3 of my peronsal monthly fee go towards giving a free replacement button.
can whoever’s responsible please update the hq spreadsheet asap? as it stands, 0 parts were sold in the entire month of january. i’m not sure if that number’s completely accurate, but it can’t be much higher. can anyone guess why? it’s because shit doesn’t break that often. hq is probably looking at an average monthly expense of like $5 from people needing to repair their sticks. the need for parts is NOT THAT HIGH. THERE WILL NOT BE A HUGE COST ASSOCIATED WITH DISCOUNTING PARTS. anyone suggesting otherwise, please format your harddrive and disconnect yourself from the internet. random comes in with a shitty stick and says “whoa bro, you sell cheap buttons, lemme get in on that”, we can say : “no”. obviously only people who pay into the system should reap any benefit. fuck.
