Really? I’ve never come across as a Claremont hater, have I? No man that’s you and don’t worry man if you win 52 Poo next week I got his creator owned Soveriegn Seven #1 oh yeah you know you want it! This is the only comic Psylocke is in it, so shrug… Claremont is hot and cold with me like Bendis, JMS, Millar, a bunch of others. Arguably he’s worse than all of them, but whatever. Let me know when every other writer stops hating on Psylocke for no reason at all so I can follow the character in another 616 book.
I can’t stand Claremont on New Excalibur though, I wish Tieri kept it after his Juggernaut arc.
I was there for Claremont’s Uncanny Xmen run last year. I almost shot myself in the head.
Since then, I’ve been a clean man.
What I managed to finally read from last week:
New Avengers - This team is too fucking gangstah. They’re just barging into people’s homes and kicking all kinds of ass. New Avengers vs. Elektra and the Hand next issue is gonna be bananas.
JLA Classified - I’m glad this is over. The pain can subside now. A big ‘fuck you’ to Dan Slott for making my head hurt.
The Initiative - It was alright. No complaints here.
The Mighty Avengers - For some reason, it felt boring. Ms. Marvel and Tony going back and forth with each other throughout the entire issue almost put me to sleep. New Avengers is just so much better. I can see a bias growing soon.
Screw the haters. This weeks issue of Amazing Spider-Man, like every issue since Civil War began, is gold. Brilliant art and wonderful writing. Yes, black suit is a gimmick for the movie, but it’s such a good looking suit, and JMS is doing a great job justifying its return.
I can see the appeal to Ultimate Spidey, but high school Peter just feels played out. The man has grown up so much over the years, and it’s absolutely facinating to watch him mature and change throughout his life.
JMS might be the best Spidey writer I’ve ever read. Period.
Cable & Deadpool was gold as usual, but I hardly need to say that. If you aren’t reading this yet, you fail.
J/K. Well it is always worth the wait, I’ll say that much.
Cable and Deadpool, I gotta confess. I bought it all through Civil War. Then one issue had a Liefeld cover, so I had to skip that issue and I just forgot about it. Deadpool’s always good for a laugh, maybe I’ll catch up in trades.
So in short… um… read Comic Shop News or you fail… I guess… hey it’s free!
I remember Issue 3 came out right before the Pittsburgh Comicon last year, and the Pitt Con is next month, so we’re definitely in that timeframe.
I’m not sure exactly when #4 shipped, but hey, we can blame “Hollywood” Frank Miller all we want, but he’s got more important (Read: “profitable”) things on his plate at the moment.
Ultimates still can’t beat Camelot 3000 in terms of lateness. I think Ultimates 2 #13 is going to have some ridiculous six page fold-out spread. The hardcover is gonna be so nice.
All-Star Batman is probably on pace to beat Camelot 3000, though. We may have a new king. I doubt it’s Frank Miller’s fault, though. Even though he’s had a couple movies come out, I believe him when he says he’s already turned in his scripts. Jim Lee’s just overworked or something. Wildcats #2 still hasn’t come out, and the first issue came out in September or October. I don’t know why they even bother waiting for him to try to draw two books that are “supposed” to be bi-monthly.
read Ultimate Fantastic Four hardcover over the weekend, thought it was pretty good. I actually liked the Bendis/Millar opening story arc better than Warren Ellis one. The only real misstep to the series so far in my opinion is that the reed/sue love connection just appeared out of nowhere and there was no real foundation or build-up
hey Well I read a few comics yesterday and they werent too bad.
Tbolts: some random spider-man wannabe named steel spider or something like that. All of the villians uh heroes are whining as usual but a good read
New Avengers: They are in some deep shit! was set up by IM and dealing with the mighty avengers, and the hand at once.
Moon Knight: dayum the guy just dont give a fuck. I like him!!! Hmm but I wonder is he the guy who pulled the trigger on CapAM?
Mighty Avengers: yeah IM as usual always running the team inspite of giving the tag to carol. i like the way how ms marvel went at him about him who is running the team or not
