But put me down for January 2008. Why? Because Spidey 3 will prolly be out on DVD and Bluray by December 2007 so that black suit will be out of everyone’s system. 
Don’t get me wrong, the movie is gonna kick all kinds of ass. Well, it’s either going to be brilliant or a huge failure, 4 villains? Risky… I’ll put my faith in Sam Raimi to knock it out of the park again…

Finished reading The Dark Knight Returns yesterday. Man, the book was awesome. I loved the fight at the end between Supes and Bats. Love how Bats was still operating on his own terms and how he basically told Supes he was a little wuss for selling out to the government.
In short: DKR was one of the best comic stories I’ve ever read.
Right now I’m reading my copy of Batman: Year One. Already got through the first book. The artwork is a throwback to the early Bob Cane days. At first it really wasn’t what I was expecting but it really does work. And of course, Frank Miller’s writing is tops. Jim Gordon gets just about as much screen (paper?) time in the book as Batman. In a way, the story isn’t just about Bats, but Jimmy as well. Really good stuff.
If Peter and MJ split up, I’m going to go to NY myself, take the highest quality metal bat I can find and beat the faggotry out of Joe Q myself. :annoy:
i always disliked the peter & mj marriage and found it really distracting. I think it takes things way too far away from spidey’s original premise. MJ should just die at this point
Eh, I think the Peter & MJ thing just needs a good writer on board. Over the last decade + the Spidey office has let most of the supporting cast drift into limbo. It became all about Spidey and not Peter Parker. If a writer with talent could actually focus on the relationship and build MJ into solid character rather than an accessory, then the relationship can work just fine.
But seriously, no one can name one good thing to come out of a Spidey book in more than ten years. Except maybe that 9/11 issue, which was really just okay after all said and done.

So you don’t think there have been any good Spidey comics at all in the past 10 years? That’s pretty harsh. It’s not like there was a plethora of Spidey Quality in the '90s and late '80s, either. If you mean that the percentage of garbage Spidey comics is far greater than the percentage of good ones, then that’s a lot more reasonable. But that’s pretty much the case with comics, or any medium, in general.

I just picked up the old Marvel Shogun Warriors set (1-20) from eBay: I heartily recommend the '79 era comics just for the ads alone. The comic not as good as I hoped - there’s much better giant robot stuff out there - but since it was the first Americanized version of the Shogun Warriors, I had to check it out. But stuff like the BubbleYum GumFighter creed, the stupid Grit ads, the stupidly awesome Hostess Twinkies Saves The Day ads… yeah, the ads kinda make these old comics.
(I want to pick up a ROM set too, but I fear that that’ll be even more depressingly bad.)

I’ve got a huge book titled “Comics, Panel to Panel” and it’s an in-depth look at everything about the industry, INCLUDING those little 1" x 2" Block ads offering comics for cheap!
it was published by Dark Horse, and is a very good read if you can find a copy at a decent price!
I love the ads, Sea Monkeys, Hostess Fruit Pies, my childhood was forged from those cheesy, pulpy ads!

Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane - Firestar was in the comic and next month Black Cat! This was my favorite comic this week, helped me get over that whole Amazing Spider-Man ordeal. The new artist for this book is good, I don’t care for the inks on it much, especially in close ups it looks kind of sloppy. But overall Mahn isn’t too bad for an artist switch, still scared about what will happen when McKeever will leave…
Exiles - Arg, Psylocke’s been in this thing 3 issues and this is the first time I noticed! Never read an Exiles comic before, this was a lot of fun. I had no idea Spider-Man 2099 was in the comic too! Age of Apocalypse Sabretooth beasts on a gun weilding evil Captain America of a different dimension, Cap’s been having it rough lately. So far it seems like a very fun book.
X-Men - Mystique and Iceman possible hook up? Interesting but I have a feeling if it does happen it’s not gonna last due to Mystique being a royal nut job…
Ms. Marvel - Iron Man gets punched in the face by Ms. Marvel! Yeah, he had the armor on, but so what? He diserves it, the big fat jerk!

so i was browsing through my local Borders and saw that Marvel: Civil War - Road to Civil War TPB is out…
I got it, enjoyed it, and was wondering if there were any other Civil War TPBs out, and if so, which ones. Also, are all of the Civil War tie-ins going to make the TPB or just the main storyline?
all the tie-ins will be in tpb, they are steadily coming out from now through june
