52 POO!

ELIMINATED: Deathscythe Week 45 - You can get a lot of things with the number 45. You can get some Colt 45 malt liquir and drink up. You can get a 45 magnum and shoot stuff. But you can’t get you’re hands on Zephy’s X-Force issue # 1 with the number 45. Look at the bright side, stairing closely at Liefeld’s amazing pencils may cause you drink lots of Colt 45 and then blow your brains out with a 45 magnum.

REMAINING:

Zephyrantes - Week 47
Sheng-Long - Week 51
Adam Warlock - Week 52

BAH:annoy: :arazz:

wth is wrong with marvel…?

Dude read Annihilation and get back to me. PS - Annihilation >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Civil War. IMHO anyway.

Does ANYONE have a soundbyte of Balrog’s(Boxer) K.O. scream? That should be attached to every loser. Adam’s will be the best though with ST’s Dictator scream:

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuu…AAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUGH!!!

I shall win the 51 Poo-down.

FANTASTIC EDIT - So, I finished reading the latest FF over the weekend and Sue is officially a slut. She was 13 when she met Reed. WTF? Reed was 20 at the time. What a ho! She represents ALL hoodrats out there in America. Feel proud, you skanky bitches you.

That’s a great idea! If anyone has soundbytes of the 4 lords of Shadowloo losing cries PM me.

I thought the pool ended. Didn’t it shipped a week late for the West Coast a while back?

Picked up New Avengers and Buffy the Vampire Slayer this week. Buffy was okay… but I think I would rather wait for the trade to come out instead of picking up individual issues. Haven’t read New Avengers yet.

No 52 was not among the issues that shipped late AFAIK. It was on the list as possibly being late, but wasn’t. In case I’m wrong since I’m an East Coaster (but at the very least no one claimed lateness that day on this thread) from the getgo we have been playing exact week only and no one had that week. :arazz: :badboy:

Buffy’s the only book I read so far. I enjoyed it, liked the nod to Buffy’s non appearance on Angel’s last season and the comic helped make up for that terrible series finale the show had, Angel’s series finale was equally as bad. I was a fanboy of both shows until the final seasons of both. Yall can cry about Cap but I’m still mad Cordelia died and Xander lost an eye, my favorite characters got screwed… :crybaby:

I was a big fan of the Buffy and Angel TV series as well. I too didn’t enjoy the series finale for Buffy. It had an appearance by Angel, but he left before the final showdown. And the big bad for Season 7 (The First) wasn’t actually a phyisical opponent. Caleb filled that role, but he was a weakling compared to Buffy’s previous big bad opponents. I enjoyed Season 2 the best followed by Season 5. Hated Season 6.

Angel Series finale felt VERY rushed. Like they all of a sudden decided to end the series and only had 1 episode left to do it in. The final season was okay… I enjoyed the Illyria angle… until they made her good. Going from fighting Illyria in the midseason to fighting a bunch of weaklings in the series finale made no sense to me. (Hamilton was good, except he’s still a weakling compared to Illyria).

New Avengers was fun, but we already have a big temporal paradox here.

Both Avengers Books

Spoiler

How can Tony be setting up a trap for the New Avengers and be She-Ultron at the same time? The only way this could work is if this takes place after the current Mighty Avengers arc…which kinda takes all of the suspense out of it.

Did The Confession come out today? I didn’t see it in the shop…

response to spoiler

Spoiler

Yeah, that sort of thing is fairly common in comic books. Back when House of M came out, no one knew if it was before the astonishing x-men’s 2nd arc, or before the 2nd arc, or in between New Avenger’s first and 2nd arc or whatever.

The Confession came out today, I have it. Cover has Cap’s bloody shield.

New Teen Titans this week. It was great, especially the end of the issue. Can’t wait for next issue…

JLA was great, too. The art is wonderful and it wraps up the Red Tornado arc. Great action, very graphic.

yeap Just grabbed it myself.

Also, got Cap #25 at cover price today aswell - which is nice seeing as it sold out here in 2 hours

CO-FUCKING-SIGNED. I finally get to LIKE Cordy after all these years(instead of tolerate her), and she dies over some bullshit!

Anyway, I brought Buffy and Teen Titans this week…

Buffy

Spoiler

Good looking out by Whedon for finally giving my boy Xander a chance to shine(Sgt. Fury ftw). And I like where they are going with Amy as the Big Bad, maybe she’ll get a chance to shine.

Teen Titans!

Spoiler

Shit yeah Cassandra is back!! I wonder she will follow through on her promise to kill Deathstroke…and if Robin will let her. And I missed how the reject Superboy came about…can someone fill me in?

20 more days till the USM Clone Saga Trade comes out(thanks Marvel for pushing it back!!  )

They’re digging into Superboy’s history for that one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Match_(DC_Comics)

Stuff I read.

New Avengers - My favorite book of the week. Why? Because they used Shuma-Gorath’s name as a password to get into Dr. Strange’s crib! So what if Shuma-Gorath wasn’t actually in the comic, this will prolly be the only exposure he will get in 2007. Well there’s still Marvel’s big old Magic crossover storyline but I’m not gonna hold my breath. Yu’s new style looks… weird. He did lots of God Tier stuff for Wolverine in the past so I’m not sure why he switched up. On some pages it works like the last splash page, on other pages it doesn’t for me. I dunno, maybe it will grow on me. Definitly not bad just strange looking. But it’s good when artists find their own styles too and experiment.

52 - Okay what the hell man, blood appeared to be black in 2 panels! There was some good old red blood at the end of the book, but come on, they’ve been spoiling me with the red stuff all along! I’d like to pass a ban on comic book black / brown / purple blood and any other colors that can pass for blood unless we are talking green blood like Hand Ninjas or aliens. The red blood rule goes TRIPLE for any time Wolverine and Sabretooth fight. Wow, this has got to be the most pointless paragraph in this entire thread…

Teen Titans was fun, gonna miss Johns.

Confession was a nice wrap up to CW.

Thunderbolts was boring… AGAIN… makes me miss the old book and Zemo. New team has a better roster, old team was a lot more fun.

That Daily Bugle Civil War special was too funny! USAgent was hilarious. He kept talking crap like “Civil War never would of happened if I was still Captain America!” and “I never would of surrendered like a pansy the way Cap did!” Check it out, this mini paper is FREE! Omega Flight’s gonna be hilarious if they write USAgent like this!

Wonder Woman was interesting, miss Heinberg even if he was hella late throughout 2006 with this book. Still a good read and a slight suprise for the ending. A woman writer writing for Wonder Woman, cool.

Cosign.

but Did dr. strange get a powerdown or something… it would seem that he could do more damage than the new avengers ever could … maybe cause he’s been fasting he’s weaker. Cause why would he be running from the hand that’s like 1 spell and it’s game over.

“empower my amulette”

Confession was good.
“Maybe you should uh… idon’t know… write a book.” <- Awesome.

I cant wait for hulk to come back and pound tony starks armor till it’s the shape of cap’s sheild.

I guess cap is really gone. Like us agent said… fuck he shouldn’t have went out crying like a bitch. Like a building shoulda fell on him or something. or thor clone shoulda killed him. Anything better than “aw man we destroyed a few city blocks… just like we’ve done several times over in the past, and worse… I give.”

I’m sure you know this, but it had nothing to do with that. This gripe in particular gets me. Cap is a man of the people. When the PEOPLE grab you and tell you to stop you’re no longer doing what you set out to do. That’s the reason for his surrender.

I’m also looking forward to Hulk manhandling Tony.

Yu’s had that style for a while, it looked good in Superman: Birthright and Silent Dragon. Both books had inkers though, and the DC’s got much better colorists. The colors suck for New Avengers. Why is it so dark? Doesn’t fit the mood of the book at all with all the jokes Bendis puts in. What’s up with Marvel being cheap on inkers and colorists anyway?

Hey, anybody got the “Daily Bugle Special” from when Spidey unmasked (the headline was “Parker, You’re Fired!”)

I picked one up, but lost it when I moved, and wanna read it. If you’ve got one, I’ll give you a couple bucks for it., Just PM me, and we’ll iron out the details.

My Current Pulls are as follows:

52
Brave and the Bold
Flash: The Fastest Man Alive
All Star Superman
Green Lantern Corps
Shadowpact

I don’t think Shadowpact will last another year. Flash sucks, but I’m a fan of Bart Allen/Impulse/Kid Flash, so I’ll keep reading it in the hopes that they bring Wally Back, and De-Age Bart.

GLC is a fantastic read, solid all the way, and Guy Gardner is just perfect!

I’m glad 52 is ending, I will NOT be on board for Countdown (I’ll keep up to date online for that one).

All Star Superman is still a solid read, the only problem I have is that it’s only bi monthly.

finally, I haven’t read Brave and the Bold, but the Perez cover for #1 sold me, I dig team-ups, because it feels like more bang for your buck (if you look, I don’t collect many solo titles).

any suggestions on what to pick up when 52 ends?, I don’t wanna pick up anything TOO mainstream, and I don’t wanna pick up something where I’ll have to track down a bunch of back issues.

I thought about signing onto Justice League, but they’re already 5 months in.
