I’ll give cap some credit, he would put up a fight. But who would tire out first?
This is actually a fight that should never be discussed. Too much love for both characters. So I’m letting it go.

Cap needs a direct perfectly timed and aimed hit for wolverine to lose. Wolverine needs one random hit anywhere and it’s over.
And while we’re playing fanboy, wolverine’s sword slices through cap AND his shield if he decides to get gully. Cap couldn’t beat wolverine when he had a sword that cuts through adamantium. They gave that nigga a Final Fantasy Ultimate Weapon and he still lost. I’m ashamed to be American right now.
Once again, argue all you want. The fact remains that WOlverine beat caps ass twice. TWICE. Wolverine has victories in print. Cap only has victories in you guys’ head.
lol in the Ultimate Universe Cap > Wolvie
Please update for somebody who hasn’t been able to afford comics for the last year:
Why does Wolverine have a sword?
and
How can it cut through either adamantium or vibranium, which I thought were both previously considered to be nigh indestructable?
Granted… Wolvie did beat Cap in the comics…
But Spider-Man also beat Firelord in the comics.
Not saying Cap would beat Wolvie or Wolvie would beat Cap… but just that sometimes, even comics can get things wrong.
Lol wolverine did beat Lobo
Because Wolverine has the mutant power of coolness.
The coolness grants him all of these powers…
*able to be in multiple places at once
*can magically make cigars and beer appear
*can’t ever die, EVER
*seriously, you can make him a skeleton and he’ll come back, he is that cool
*knows every form of everything ever
*has lived for over 100 years, allowing Marvel to write new story after new story about his past
Ok so we’ve already established that the New Avengers are pretty weak outside of Dr.Strange and Wolverine. On the totally other end of the spectrum you have the Mighty Avengers.
Members of the Mighty Avengers include Iron Man who has super strength, flight and energy projection, Ms. Marvel who has super strength, flight and energy projection, Wasp who has super strength (when in giant form) flight and energy projection, Wonder Man who has super strength plus flight, and the Sentry who can pretty much do all those things plus whatever he wants (even though he’s a little loopy).
Ares got the short end of the stick apparently. He’s only an immortal Greek god with near class 100 strength. Black Widow honestly must have been added as little more than an afterthought. She’ll still have her uses. These two Avengers teams don’t seem balanced to me. They should make a trade like Echo for Wonder Man or something.
This has got to be the best power ever.
Fixed for my pleasure.
New Avengers needs Squirrel girl.
Seriously, who can’t Squirrel Girl beat?
Damn I’ve been out of this thread for too long now.
Anyways about the subject: in the end bitches Wolvie’s son>Wolvie>Cap.
Fuck I don’t even think anyone’s truly ready for wolvie’s kid to show his ass around that guy is truly imo one crazy mother fucker.
Has no sympathy PERIOD not even for his old man, we’ll see though IF the writers can truly make him a badass like his father.
Off topic now: I’ve been hella reading the authority lately and loving it volume by volume with it’s characteristcs and story so far. Just finished up on Bru’s revolution Trade and DAMN my dick got hard after looking at rose tattoo.
Kane: Squirrel is Broken and
SO is…
SO IS deadpool for easily taking out taskmaster that was real lame. I wanted MORE out of that fight then some weak ass shank attempt by task.
i fully agree with his opinion on cap. too bad you like fables. now go reread wolverine origin. you will have a test on that soon
Pretending to like cap won’t get you a green card, cut the Patriot Act (haha) and then cut my grass.
hey you should be happy now. i mean cage is the new leader of NA. finally you people have someone in a leadership position. well…til he fucks it up that is.
i officially disown sano for not mentioning the church of bru to our lord when he met him. i am ashamed of you sano
Cap’s shield is a vibranium-adamantium alloy, and I understand that adamantium is like a super duper steel alloy, so it’s still technically a vibranium-steel alloy.
Curse you Adam Warlock!
My only weakness - how did you possibly know!?! I can’t read that book - I refuse! So I’ll have to accept your word as law and just concede that he did catch a beating from Wolvie in it. Even though the comic could really have had Cap putting him to sleep in a choke hold while simutaneously fucking Thanos up the ass…I’ll never know.
Dammit, my comic track record argument holds no worth because Wolvie’s got one fight on him, and I’m suspecting now that the fight I can’t remember was probably one of those gay interrupted fights that wasn’t really a fight in the first place because one of them’s brainwashed or something and the other’s trying to talk them out of it while dancing around not really fighting.
And Cap knocked Wolvie the fuck out in Wolvie’s own book when he was Hydra/Hand brainwashed in the Enemy Of The State story…but that was after Wolvie got gangbanged on by like every hero in the Marvel universe, so I guess that one’s not exactly fair.
I do know that Cap’s like 2-0 versus Spidey who is in turn 3-0 versus Wolvie. So thus A > B and B > C => A > C = I WIN
Forget your nonsense. Cap is unstoppable. I gotta find one of those respect threads to bathe in his manly essence.
I do remember a Black Panther versus Cap fight in which Cap kicks his ass, after which Black Panther literally says something like “Well we both know that fight wasn’t fair, so it doesn’t count.” Hatefully bitter! I vaugely remember where I saw it - hope to find it soon.
Listen, it’s not Cap’s fault that all you crazy black people have been owned by the American government since forever. Don’t take that shit out on him and claim shit wasn’t fair or that he can’t beat Wolvie.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and I call NAY on your Gamora bit - that’s from Infinity War when she got blindsided after a naked Hulk dropped on top of Sasquatch from orbit. No indicative of a typical fight. In a straight up fight, she could probably kick both Cap’s and Wolvie’s asses at the same time.
In the recent What If: Enemy Of The State comic, a brainwashed Logan left Cap missing an arm and a leg. They fought again when Cap was in a wheelchair, but Wolverine still won.
And in today’s issue of Avengers, the whole team got turned into MODOKs, and only Wolverine’s healing factor was able to revert him to his original form and save the day.
I didn’t read any other recent posts so I have no context of Clinty’s and Warlock’s discussion of this “VS” nonsense. Nonetheless, my new evidence clearly shows that Michael Turner is a poor man’s Rob Liefeld.
How is BONE?
I remember seeing this EONS ago in Wizard and always wondered about it. About a couple weeks ago at Borders I’m in the Manga section and my buddy is in the Graphic Novels section and I see the one and only Bone Collection, but it was $40 so I thought I would come here and get some opinions. The only US comics I read are in the newspapers so anyone mind dropping some knowledge on me?
Me thinks you have no idea what you said, or what that phrase really means.
Bone is one of the best comics you can ever read. The one volume edition has everything- all 55 issues of the series. It’s an epic fantasy story but it has a wide emotional range. Sometimes it’s really funny and lighthearted, and at other times, it’s pretty heavy stuff. A big influence is Peanuts, and you can really see from the quality of the cartooning that Bone is immaculately crafted. This is a thick book, but it never, ever, feels dragged down or slow because of the text. The art is a big part of the storytelling so it all goes down smooth.
Bone is just one of those long stories where you really feel you get to know the characters, and when it’s over, it just leaves you with this melancholy feeling… Because it’s always nice to get a satisfying ending to a great story, but you know that the next thing you read will have a helluva hard time measuring up to the experience you just had.
You might want to check Amazon.com for the Bone One Volume Edition. That’s where I got mine and it’s a good way to save some money.
