can someone please tell me what ff 541 had to do with civil war? anyone?
Haven’t read FF 541 yet but it does have that big ol’ Civil War banner on the cover.
I’ll update 52 Poo when I get a free minute. What I’ve read so far -
Someone came back to life in New Avengers this week…
My favorite comic this week so far was Peter David’s Spider-Man. Really entertaining and lots of goodies for long time Spider-Man readers, even Betty Brant was in the book. I think it took PAD a little while to find his voice writing Spider-Man but he’s there and it’s really great.
Illuminati was just crazy…
Currently in the middle of reading the Captain America and Iron Man issue, I <3 Civil War!
Over at DC’s end Teen Titans was hella cool with Kid Devil’s origin.
Are you serious?
That’s cool. Writing for married couples is tough for anybody, it plagues comics and every other kind of fiction - sitcoms end when the people you want to get together get married, it’s really funny. People want it and when they get it they find it boring. Only way it seems to write for married couples is to give them endless relationship problems like Soap Operas do. Or to introduce characters who are already married it seems.
The relationship was fine to me when Morrison was writing it. Others just can’t do their relationship right to me.
I’ll give you one example. During a mission Emma Frost put a spell on some human guards in a facility so every time for the rest of their entire lives every time they heard a rare word (I forget the word) they would vomit uncontrollably for 24 hours. Cyclops just laughs this off! Um, what? The Cyke I know wouldn’t find this funny at all and this is doing absolutly nothing to stregnthen human and mutant relations, if someone finds out about it it’s just going to make things worse. And here’s Emma again, not acting like a hero, being a bitch towards people who were just doing their job and not plotting world domination meaning Cyke nor the X-Men has had no influence over her whatsoever.
So… it all just doesn’t seem right to me. Morrison found a good balance for the two, no one else can. Under Morrison he made Emma seem (at least to me) way more understanding to Cyclops’ feelings, position, and so forth. No offense to Whedon’s writing of course - it’s still great and everything. Well, I suppose I’m just as big a stick in the mud as Cyclops is but you prolly know that already due to my previous Fables rants …
On a lighter note, not that long ago both Gambit and Rogue did live together without powers for a fairly long time after they left Extreme X-Men. But they are being written almost as if this time apart was a million years ago and they haven’t had sex in ages. Oh well… maybe sex between the two was beyond good so a delay for 3 months is just oh too much for both to bare even though they went years without nothing. Eh, comics am funny.
Here is a linkfrom marvel in regards to all the C-dub comics and it is a better list as well with pics.
I do see where you are coming from. It just filled in some of blanks that was left in one of the ASM crossovers.
52 POO!
ELIMINATED
Week 33 - Seriously man, WTF 33? Everyone else had a strategy for picking their numbers and this idiot goes and picks the number 33 out of the blue. This has got to be one of those retards who would decide never to read something as great as FAAAAABLESSSS!!!1111 after reading only one issue. Or can’t appreciate the greatness that is the Cyclops and Emma Frost merger. Or even worse, goes on and on about Disney comics. What a dumb ass! Don’t listen to anything this moron has to say on this thread!
Wait a minute, I picked week 33…
REMAINING - TEH FINAL FOUR LORDS OF SHADOWLOO OH NOOOS!
Deathscythe - Week 45
Zephyrantes - Week 47
Sheng-Long - Week 51
Adam Warlock - Week 52
That made me laugh. So, that means by boss order logic I’m Boxer(Balrog) in all of this.
Hell yeah! You’re surrounded by white women and you get to run around and say “I GOT PAID!”
And I guess -
Zeph - Has a Question avatar, hides his face - just like the Spanish Ninja
Sheng-Long - Both Sheng Long and Sagat have uppercuts and fireballs
Adam Warlock - Do I have to explain this one? Adam beasts on everyone at SRK just like a final boss!
I FIGURED IT ALL OUT! (sano is suddenly crushed by a falling piano…)
just read crisis on infinite earths, infinite crisis, and the fastest man alive 4 and 5… i need more flash!!
the infinite crisis was fucking great btw, believe the hype.
aw man See Deathscythe’s got that and Zeph got the good looks and long blonde hair.
I got no hair, an eye patch and a HUGE 45 VAGINA on my torso!
Crouching fierce! Well at least you get to push Adon and Dan around for kicks and go all Leonardo Dicaprio and scream, “I AM THE KING OF MUAY THAI!” next time you’re on a boat…
Waaah! War Crimes killed off one of my favorite underused Spidey villains via a shot to the back of the head… man, now this Civil War has really hit home with me. Stop fighting Marvel it’s Christmas! :crybaby:
yea i’m serious. the issue is all about ben going to france and joining up with some french heroes and foiling soem plot. it was lame.
Shit, JMS has been putting out lame FF stories LONG before Civil War started.
The most recent was just him killing time, which is sad because of all the people who you think could do a decent FF I thought it was JMS.
Ha ha IGN is doing their ‘Best of 2006’ series and they have dipped into comic books too. They voted for Iron Man as VILLAIN OF THE YEAR! You know, like I’ve been saying all along! Oh snap, IGN was right about something! :looney:

Brubaker won for best writer and Fables won for best ongoing series. Something to make everyone happy.
My weekly comment reading report:
Just started reading Astonishing X-Men from the begining. The writing is extremely well done, and the artwork is beautiful. A nice break from all the anime/manga inspired work that’s flooding the U.S. Market.
I’m also grabbing every copy possible of the Thunderbolts. I’ve been told its a must read for any Marvel fan. I’m mainly doing this because of the new Thunderbolts team starting issue 110 I believe. Cant start reading that not having read the first 109 issues. LOL
I’m also picking up some Batman stuff too, with me buying the The Dark Knight Returns, because I herd it was one of his crowning moments courtesy of Frank Miller. If you all have any recommendations for Arcs or runs or series of the Batman, let me know.
Also, I have a recommendation myself. I suggest everyone pick up pronto. City of Heroes. Yes, a comic based on the MMORPG. Its awesome, and you dont have to know a lick about the game to jump right into it. The writing is suprisingly well done, and the artwork shines in most issues, with it only being a big above average on its worse day. Its being published by Image/Top Cow, so its in decent hands (but boy the delays. Typical Image stuff there).
You can DOWNLOAD every issue thus far, via pdf files. Good deal.
If you haven’t read Batman: Year One, then you’re dead to me. Also, get Dark Victory and The Long Halloween. Hush blows. So skip that.
Does anyone know which justice league comic this picture is from? got it from ign…
Hmmm…wasn’t this supposed to be a cover to JLA #1 or #0?
