During Cyclops’ first appearance/origin story there was a big piece of machinery (or something large, memory’s super fuzzy) that was going to land on a crowd, he disentigrated it with his powers - made it vanish with an Optic Blast. This is without his visor and his power unchecked. But writers never really use his powers that way.

Yeah it’s a DC crossover. 52 is a series where they release a new issue every single week for 52 weeks - a whole year. So far they have been up to issue 32 and have not been late.
Three words: All Winners Squad. Formerly retroactively(?) known as The Invaders. They only had 2 issues as the All Winners and then in the '70s Cap, Submariner, and the Original Human Torch, along with some B rate wannabe golden age heroes had their own book set in WWII called the Invaders. BTW the Captain America in the All Winners Squad was NOT Steve Rogers, the one in the Invaders was.

People are so busy hugging Wolverine’s nuts that they forget that Cyclops is the leader of the X-Men. He could take off his visor and fire DBZ level bolts but he chooses to control it, technique over power. Overall he’s been in much deeper shit than Wolverine could imagine and he survived. It’s really fucked up how they shafted him in X3, but that’s nothing new. I wish they would give Cy some more exposure. Cyclops Year One plz?

Good news, everyone. My copy of The Life and Times of Scrooge came in on Thursday at Borders. It only took 3 days to arrive and I was told it would come in about a week’s time. So I picked it up on Friday. I flipped through it and I was surprised to find out that the book is in full color. I thought for sure it would be in black & white. Looks like it will be a very entertaining reed. I’m kinda bummed that there don’t seem to be any stories in this book involving Magica or Gyro. But the Beagle Boys are there, so that’s good.

Gyro’s ancestor is in their. Magica is in the Companion. All of their books are in color with Barks’ stuff re-colored over the years.
I dunno where to start since everything they do is golden. Most of Rosa’s stuff isn’t pricey but a lot of the Scrooge stuff under Gladstone - the people who had the license before Gemstone - will run you some dough. But Gemstone doesn’t charge as much for books. The best suggestion I can offer is to check your comic shop and see what they have, what stories look interesting to you and so on. even Gladstone back issues shouldn’t cost that much (they mostly charged a lot for tradesso 90s back issues shouldn’t cost much) and you can always flip through them and pick out the ones you want.
Extreme X-Men was Claremont X-Men. When it wrapped Claremont wrote Uncanny X-Men. Extreme kind of ended when they gave up the search for Destiny’s Diaries - they realized that searching for them lead to a trap of fulfilling all of the bad predictions in it. I think they tried to drag Extreme after that story wrapped for a bit but that was kind of the end of it.

There might be New X Men now instead of Uncanny. I have no idea.
Actually, things are looking up for Iceman, I think he’s begun to explore his powers like a man.

Iceman is being written pretty well in X-Men right now, the Mike Carey (formely of Vertigo’s Lucifer) is being lazy about having him use his powers.
I’m fairly certain Vulcan isn’t Omega and was only classified as such because Darwin had bonded with him. I think Darwin is an Omega though.

Cyclops on the other hand, as much as I hate him, Cyclops had a reason to bitch, and he never complained. Shot out of a the sky in a plane, jumped out, with a parachute with a fucking hole in it, and hit the ground with enough instinct to know to roll to save his kid brother from hitting. All before the age of 10. Scott Summers was the inspiration for the American Army commercial.
Well, considering that Wolverine had to fend for himself his entire life without ever really being taken in by anyone until he met Vindicator(Guardian now) in Canada and ended up joining Alpha Flight. But, you’re right about Cyclops though. I just feel Wolverine grew out of that phase. Granted the minute bitching he does every now and then. But, yeah, I understand what you mean though. Being shot out of a plane is pretty serious.
