games i cycle right now and think are really good:
guilty gear
vf5fs
ones i expected to like, but ended up not liking them for one or more reasons:
kofxiii
tekken tag 2
with kof i’m not sure if it’s the netcode or the game. training mode is fun, but then playing against both good and bad players turned out to be more irritating than enjoyable. i was a big tekken 2 and 3 fan as a kid, so i was really surprised at how annoyed i get playing ttt2. anything not listed here falls into some other category like “i just don’t care about it” or “tried it for a bit but i don’t feel like playing it anymore.” i think 3S, guilty gear, and vf5 work well as a trio.
I’m trying to learn TTT2, but I wanna play it intelligently, and not just throw chains out and hope they work. Problem is, I don’t know how the hell to defend against the other guy just doing chains and hoping they work. Do I seriously just have to sit in training mode or keep playing for a few months before I know all the chains and can properly defend myself and can start playing the real game?
thats the same thing as 3s bro. or any fighting game.
if you aren’t familiar with all the moves in the game you get hit by stuff, a lot. because you don’t know when you’re safe and when you aren’t yet.
you need to keep playing a while before you develop that familiarity.
Just started playing Guilty Gear as Zappa, that game is so dope. I spam shit and then rape niggas with 100% health combos that dont require any manual skill
I do love SF4 and I play it frequently as it is the only competitive game I really have time to practice. But since I have figured GGPO, I have recently begun to enjoy.
KOF98(Yamazaki/Terry/Shermie- Trying to pick up Heavy D).
VSAV(Jedah).
Garou:MOTW (Its an SNK 3S that is actually pretty fun and similar to 3S. Kevin = Chun Li on Steroids). (Tizoc/K.Butt- Want to learn Terry.).
