my friends aren’t as into fighters as I am, so when we do play a fighting game its either Soul Calibur 1, Power Stone, Brawl or, amazingly, Fighters Megamix. Playing as a palm tree is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
3S and ST are the only fighting games I play seriously, but I have been known to dabble in Jojo, KOF, and Guilty Gear. How BB is bigger than GG I will never know.
It’s worth it, trust me. I took a gamble before I had my Xbox and rented it and fell in love. Only problem is Arc System works loves to pull a Capcom and rerelease the same game with little tidbits of new things.
i would love to play umvc3 with any semblance of ability. there is some barrier with that game. mvc2 also. it’s just how assists function and how different the pacing and approach is. im just not a good enough overall player to adapt instantly and appreciate it.
i think they’re sick games though. i love x-men. grew up on x-men and then revisited x-men in college. as a kid being able to use wolverine, gambit, storm, omega red, sabretooth, etc. was so amazing. i have mvc2 on dreamcast and mvc2 was really the first fighting game i played in an arcade.
kof 13 is a great game, i just wish the way combos were handled wasn’t so stiff. but that’s part of kof really. as long as ive tried the series out, it’s felt similar.
yeah, 13 is good, and I do like it…but Im constantly losing interest in it…its weird lol on the flip side, my interest in mvc2 is getting higher than ever before and umvc3 feels like mindless fun.
13 is a cool game. i would like to spend more time on it.
but that’s the thing. ‘like to’. what that means is i dont actually like it all that much. it means on a higher level, in my mind, i think its a good game worth pursuing. as for the actual playing, it means i dont have a whole lot of fun when i play it.
its like all these critics telling you some movie is amazing. and then you watch it and go “that was boring”. there’s nothing wrong with that.
I think that might be a similar case for me. When I see matches played I’m like “yeah this game is the shit, I need to get on that” however when I play it, its all bllaaaaaaahhhh
You got Vampire Savior, Guilty Gear, Street Fighter II, Marvel, Melty Blood and even Smash strategies that all work in the same game. I know you’ve heard of it, but the fact that this topic exists means you’re the one percent whom haven’t tried it yet. Go. Go.
eh, that doesn’t really bother me too much. Once I move to Japan I plan to give the game a real effort as opposed to just listening to the soundtrack on my ipod
I don’t care about the Loli shit. Pots and Pans (aka Melty Blood) is a trainwreck of a game in my opinion and it has nothing to do with some of the loli shit in there. I do really like GGACX2 though, problem is only pedos play it and if they aren’t in jail they’re in brazil.
Block strings vs Japanese players with online play.
Want to see about CvS2 though. Area has more of that than 3s. then I can find more 3s guys thru CvS2!
Will buy Virtua Fighter 5:FS on release. Heard 3s players can enjoy both, due to some similarities.
What other fighters I own would be SSF4AE, Soul Calibur 2, Super Smash Brothers: Brawl/Melee and Street Fighter 2: World Warrior. Might buy KOF13 soon too if I find it cheap.
What other fighters I actually play, on the other hand, would be none. Simply because 3RD STRIKE IS BEST STRIKE, kthx.
…or well, that’s probably going to change once I get a chance to play with some friends of mine in the summer holidays. Will probably be a lot of SSBB and SC2/SC4, with some 3S sprinkled in if I can get them to play with me 8D
