lol it’s Beibers world
shit yeah! man i hate that we cant have a space coast thread… I play super for at least 2+ hours every night and train with matt (and others) here as much as i can…
i wish i had the freedom to drive to orlando every week but i just cant
i’m dying to get better at super
I’ll be in Mexico for my birthday this week but once I get back and you guys start Ranbats I’ll do my best to make em out and also gonna bring back Game nights probably every other Sunday. There’s not much going on for me tourney/event wise until ExpCon in October but I’ll come out to play.
And everyone’s right, no more bitching, Let’s just play and get back our swagger. And no more switching around characters for me. Through and Through I’m a Balrog player and he is my best character. I know how to learn all the matchups and don’t need to counter pick, even if it’s Guile/Akuma and I’ve learned to be confident in using Rog still against even Giefs and able to pull out wins when I play my best.
On Another note, how many people here actually play Poker. Usually on Tuesday’s I have a 20 dollar buy in .25/.50 No limit game at my place. I’ve run low on players and looking for like 3-4 more that would be interested. Let me know.
yet another thing id do if it wasnt over an hour away
I’d be down(i know the basics but that’s about it haha so free money for all >_<)
Hey whats up man i’ve been meanig to hit you up, I’m in Melbourne for like 2 months we should link up and get some matches in sometime.
Wow, I just read through the dramatic previous 2 pages. itches head
I for one am always looking to improve. My biggest flaw is what Alex mentioned in his post above, switching characters. I simply get bored using one character alllllllllll day. No fun to me. In a perfect world, everybody would random select 24/7. That’s just me, and that’s why I’ll never be top tier (which I’m fine with). In tournaments though, I’m strictly gonna be using Sim. I’m gonna try a sober approach next time and see how I fare. In Vanilla, I finished in the bottom half of every tournament I played in except for 2 (out of about 10 tourneys or so).
Since then, and since really putting some work in, I’ve gotten 4th at a Hooters tourney, 4 straight Top 10 finishes (3 Top 5) at Will’s Pub tourneys, and tied for 17th at CEO — all while drinking heavily (hi, have we met?).
My main problem besides iffy execution is that I play SO MUCH online. Online vs offline = noticeable difference for sure… fortunately I get the honor of playing 2 of Orlando’s finest on XBOX periodically (Jebailey & Torrin) — but I primarily play for fun, and they counter my Sim retarded (Jebailey - Rufus, Torrin - Cammy). But I love it. I can’t get better without losing. Believe me, if I get salty at all, it’s good salt
I’ll try to make my presence more visible at get togethers, but truthfully, it’s a matter of time and distance, a lot of the hosting goes on 30+ minutes away from me, and I usually have my days preplanned a week in advance. I merely suggested Wednesday for Ranbats, and several people got aggro about it — it was just that, a suggestion. I suggested it because last year when Face hosted, every Wednesday brought out 10-14 STRONG players, nary a scrub in the crowd. THAT is how I got better. Not online, not training mode, but playing better players over and over and over who told me what I was doing wrong and what to improve on (particular shouts to Casanova John and Torrin in this department).
So we have a few consecutive losses to Tampa. And? They’re a great community, and so are we. We’re extremely fortunate to have them, honestly… if they weren’t there to kick our ass from time to time, this community would likely divide into a segregated SSF4 on 1 side of the room, BBCS on the other side of the room type of scenario. I only wish Tampa was closer to Orlando so we could have HUGE ranbat sessions weekly.
All faggotry aside, I fucking love this community and I’ll honestly try to make a more concerted effort to come play OFFLINE (lul). Also, I have a spot I can host tournaments at that I brought up a few months back (Dave’s Place - awesome bar) — I’ll see if I can’t get that mojo started again. If (or rather, WHEN), I do, I’ll be sure to include BBCS or whatever game that garners enough interest behind Super.
Thanks to any and all who’ve helped me (and anybody/everybody else) level up [even if only by baby steps].
Get at least one session in with me before you do this please. I wanna see were your at and make sure you don’t embarrass yourself.
Guys stop this bitching please, we can play both games so that’s whatever.
Nestor I heard your switching to Jin instead of Hazama because of his damage output being shitty? Watch this vid and tell me if you still feel the same.

Buppa(amazing Guilty Gear player BTW) switched from Jin for Hazama and consistently gets around 3000 dmg. Thats close to Bang and what is great is those combos build crazy meter leading into hotenjin(kick super) which is fucking godlike!!!
I wanna get a chance and play with everyone so I can help your games out and make us formidable. As far as BB goes I’d say our real comp is South FL not Tampa since I don’t think any of them are competent enough to play the game at a high level, only a few have shown interest in it anyway.
Back to BB
Here are a list of Jap players everyone should be peeping as far as homework goes.
Senkei’s Definition of Homework: Go to youtube, search for the player name and character. Filter the uploads to most recent. Observe what they do and mold it into your own game plan.
This weeks assignments! :nunchuck:
Ben Reed/Trent: IRON TAGER- Galileo, godlike tager player and wrote the book on Gadget finger set-ups:
Jeff Reed: BANG- DORA!!! you should know this but you need to learn from him even if he trolls people mid match sometimes.
Rico: Makoto: we’ve talked already about this
Nestor: Hazama- Buppa, solid as fuck qualified for SBO and balls with the best, makes hazama look like a boss character.
Carlos/Ian: Hakumen- Ian already knows but if you wanna take this game serious Carlos you need to watch vids of 0(Zero) he is very sick and a top GG jap player.
John: Ragna- Kaqn durp and Mame are both great Ragna players
Torrin: Arakune- the big 3 are Souji, Fumo, and Hima. All amazing and take everything from their opponents within seconds. Study them all!!!
I’m off on thursday so I can go over to Nestor and Carlos’s place to play BB we just need to bring a TV that don’t lag.
I will be going over a few things as that I think can help everyone(some more than others but still help)
-
Movement: super important in this game
-
Bursting: when to do it and why
-
Blocking and Abare
Any questions about what I’ve given out if i’m not in my office please send me a PM…
I’m impressed with your dedication, dude Good shit. Like I told you at Will’s Pub last time, I’m down to give it a shot next time I go to a get together (it’ll be murk city though, as I’ve never played GG or BB before, so I’ll be Stevie Wondering that bitch). Sure looks fun though.
Damn, you guys mad? I didn’t know there was so much tension up in here. A lot has happen since I left. Now that we’ve let our emotions out, let’s get back to the matter at hand. Torrin, when is ranbats starting? Pick a date. I still prefer Thursday, but I can try to accommodate a different time. I admit, I fell off after CEO and I haven’t put in the time to get better. If I jump on BlazBlue then I’m picking Noel, and rolling with my 2 guns up.
Once again It’s On!!
pick up the game and go through the Trial and challenge modes. They will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know about the basics and your bnb combos.
everyones past the mad Irvin
I’m not a big fan of BB:CS myself. I’ve always been more partial to Capcom and SNK fighters than GG/BB.
It’s too bad I wasn’t at CEO long enough to meet more of you. The only people I met were Rick and djdelly (both of whom I don’t even think live here lol). However, I loved being able to spec the tail end of the SSFIV teams tournament and part of the CvS2 tourney. Seriously, that shit got me hyped to start getting into the community. I hope one of you guys is hosting a gathering tonight; if not, I might just go to your ranbats on wednesday to spec and meet everyone.
ah nice! 321-693-3237
hit me up sometime man! im gonna be gone for over a week on friday (wedding and honeymoon woot)
Ill let you know if I’m hosting tonight with matt… why you down here anyways?
Also give this page a look if you want to learn about the system mechanics of bbcs and info regarding bnbs/movelists per character: CONTINUUM SHIFT
Info for bnbs come from dustloop so if you want to step up your learning just head to the character boards there.
Hehe I just got bbcs for ps3 finally no more xbox controller : ) add me everyone liquidvexx. Ad damn torrin’s using arakune too : (
In case you haven’t heard there’s a small tourney at Waterford, a couple of people of the community will be there along with new blood like myself!
If you got the hype, you should come out and try to make it, along with meeting people there of course!
Click Hurr for Info!
Who else is going other than Myself and Shusty?
I know Ed might be able to make it, along with 2 of my friends that are also new blood…
That sounds good. I didn’t even pay attention to that announcement when it was first posted. I might even do the random select tourney since it’s only $3.
i should be able to make it, only going to enter the standard tourney though, games been out long enough new character tourneys are a little odd :S.
Not to far past I hope, lol. Is everyone playing BlazBlue on PS3?
I will be there. Not sure if I’ll be on time since I play paintball on Sundays, but if I am I will join the tourney. I’m bringing my rusty Chun. I have to hold it down since Jimmy left and ED switch to Adon. If I make top 8, that’s a shame on all of yawl.
Dammit Tampa took me and ians cupcake joke and made a thread out of it lmfao
