BTW Shusty, If you can make it out to that Sunday tournament I think that would be a great opportunity to ask if that venue can be an option for the Ranbats season. While the community is there having some fun and shit…Just a small idea. That game room in the back is like perfect for Ranbats…
“General” general approves!!
all hail tri-force. the republic shall prevail!!!
1.You live your life at 25%
2.The fictitious world you live in sounds nice : D
3. …bahahah
Thx for the strat’s and yea we def gotta play at nestors soon, or early at the next wills pub. And yea the lag sucks but it was manageable compared to other online matches i had on Sunday lol
Anything tomorrow night? I’m too new to SSFIV for Ranbats, so if anyone hosts SSFIV/ST/HDR casuals I would love to stop by.
This sounds awesome! Thanks for starting this up again. Wed is good for me.
South Florida Challenge 4!

I’d recommend Friday’s Parmesan-Crusted Chicken when you go there. It’ll be less heavy on your tab.
Oh, good, this MM is in BlazBlue. If it was SSF4 i’d put down $1 as a bare-bones courtesy and avert my eyes. But since this is BBCS, I’ll put down like $10 on Jeff and watch the carnage unfold.
Real talk Torrin, for being like 2 weeks old your Arakune isn’t too bad. I was really impressed when you landed that 5-rep bug loop at Nestor’s last week. Main thing is you need to work on your bugless pressure and footsies, and you really need a better bug blockstring in curse mode. People who flail randomly are still gonna get hit by bugs, but you won’t be able to lock them in place on the ground for high-low games if you don’t get your bees into proper formation.
One thing you could do right off the bat to improve your bugless pressure is to make use of Arakune’s IAD j. B pressure. Arakune’s forward air dash usually has that awkward little upward float at the end of it, but you can cancel that momentum by doing your air dash B as instant air dash forward (uf, neutral, f), back + B.
This will make Arakune drop like a rock while still doing his multi-hit j. B attack, making it much harder to reactively anti-air and allowing you to land faster to do a deeper combo, or continue pressure into overhead, standing D for curse meter, etc. Much safer than just doing jump, fall, jumping B to pressure people, which is vulnerable to instant-block -> anti-air (or just a reactive big nasty uppercut like Tager’s d + C).
I’ve been slipping in Super because nobody seems to care anymore. Only me, Leland and The Kid Christopher seem to be taking the game seriously still. I’ve lost faith in you guys.
Enjoy your Blazblue, but once that game’s fad dies down, don’t come back running to me.
Relax, Jebailey, Tampa will still be there on a weekend when we’re not all working or broke as fuck like myself (or just easily distracted like Ian by the promise of slave-girl Princess Leia cosplay).
As for Super, let’s face it, the game gets stale when it’s the only game the city of Orlando plays. (That’s pretty much the reason why I play BB even though I bitch about it all the time; in my eyes it’s still preferable to playing nothing but Super.)
BB’s not earth-shatteringly great, but it’s not a bad game, and I really think having the two games together, given an honest support effort on the community’s part, will really help refresh scenes for both games.
Salty over Super? Go hit up BlazBlue for that anime sway. Salty over BlazBlue? Go hit up Super for a nice refreshing cup of wakeup Ultra. I think there’s quite a decent capacity for salt dump just having the two games play off each other. I think the relief to the monotony and the higher quality of CS as a game (compared to CT) will do the community some good.
why is everyone dick riding Wednesday?! But Thursday would work better for me, I guess Wednesday isn’t that bad.
people still care, just cuz you are out of touch with us doesn’t mean we don’t still play the same games lol. I still practice in super just not as much till i get my BB game where i’m happy with it.
Hate on it all you want but until you give it a fair chance instead of constantly telling us it’s going to die in 2 weeks you can’t really talk shit about it as a “fad”. Considering everyone in Orlando BUT you is giving it a chance speaks volumes for the weight of your opinion on the matter. In short don’t talk shit because we are trying to build a community for a game you aren’t interested in. I like you Alex, but the negativity is unappreciated and slightly "hurtful"pause since you are supposed to be all about community…
anyways moving on enough of me being all butt hurtpause again…
Unrelated topic: Down to 257(starting weight of 270) First month was slow but i seem to be dropping ~2 lbs a week so pretty stoked. only 32 more pounds till i can skydive >_<
If y’alk can make it theSunday tournament thread up.
SSF4 singles winner will get a custom balltop made by me.
Sorry for the short notice. We where slackin’ on this one.
Damn if the ranbats was Thursday that would be the ballS I can go after school. What time is it gonna be shusty? Wensday sucks for me me I work 4-1230
Man, people are playing BB CS now?My dumb ass ignored it because of school and after school finished up I was distracted by a shiny new laptop, haha. I also been mostly waiting on MvC3, that game is gonna be sick. I was playing around with a little game for the Saturn called Fighters Megamix last night and was like, ‘Damn, what are the guys in the fighting scene doing?’ so I decided to check up and see if y’all were still alive.
I been slacking on my fighting too, haha, so you can add me to the free list. Not as though I wasn’t there before though =P
Yo, don’t give in to this bullshit. Alex getting mollywhopped has nothing to do with interest in the game.
Up to the community. This is a community effort. If anything stagnate the process, then I’ll make the final decision.
I’ll be there, Rafy. Who are you, btw? I’m sure we’ve meet, but what’s your real name? Looking forward seeing you on Sunday.
We’ll see about that.
Thanks for the tips. It wasn’t two weeks I’ve been playing Arakune. It was one day! Actually it was 2 hours, while Trent was hogging the game to mastered his Tager. I know more about fighters in general to see how Arakune should be played. I just need time to practice, and I’ll be a beast in the game in no time.
Up to the community.
What, lol? You rarely come out and play with us… The only time we play together is when you invite us over, and when the last time you did that?
I saw your match against Prince and I have a list of reasons why he beat you but I’m gonna give you 3:
You have no footsies.
Jumping in was your only effective way of getting in. He anti-air pretty good
Prince had more patience.
In short, you lost because he downloaded you not because the community is playing BlazBlue, which is a good game. You’re still a great guy in my book, Jebailey. Maybe you should pick up Rufus?
Name’s Rafael, I haven’t been to too many events, so we probably haven’t met yet. Complications disable me from going to Carlos and Nestor’s weekly casuals even though the house is like 5 minutes away from me. I went once and met a couple people but that is about it. We’ll meet on Sunday for sure! I’ll be the Adon player with a a black fedora-ish hat.
Hopefully Ranbats at PnT/Gamer’s Inc will allow me to be out there more!
Wasn’t really knocking bbcs Ian. I mean seriously I have said I’ll include it in future tournaments to support you guys. If I don’t then who will tournament wise around here. Don’t see dustloop posting up any bbcs tourneys in Orlando.
Prince leveled up for sure at evo but since everyone seems to be falling off of super for another game that I don’t have time to get to has held me back. I finally adjusted back to top level play against prince then got counter picked in the last match before I got my groove back. Not blaming anyone else but myself for the loss. The point I’m making is whether or not you guys want to admit Orlando the city is slacking at super now.
Tampa can’t keep winning damn it. I can’t do this alone.
Just cause I’m knocking a new game doesn’t mean I don’t care about it or it’s players Ian and or bbcs lovers.
You don’t show up that much…is it really that big of an issue for you? I’ve been to also all if not all the gatherings this month. At every gathering there has been SF4, BBCS, and whatever people wanted to play. If you need SF4 practice just…show up?
I think what Jebailey is saying is over the past few months Tampa has slowly taking over the SSF4 scene. Started a few tournaments ago at Will’s Pub, then winning Hooters and taking back the War On I-4 trophy and then this weekend winning singles again and for the secnd straight tournament taking 5 of the top 8.
Tampa as a whole right now is elbows deep in SSF4 and is still energized to level their game up even more. Tampa upped their game. It’s time for you, Orlando to do the same. :china:
