Picked up my 360 copy yesterday and like any EA game, it reeks of bad decisions.
The controls are all wrong, in old school NBA Jam, you only needed pass, shoot, and turbo, even in Showtime where they had jukes, spins and the alley-oop, you still only needed those three buttons. On the Wii, you only have three buttons, and they set it up like Showtime. On the 360, the controls are mapped all wrong, and they moved some commands to their own button, IE the pass button is no longer the steal button on D, and spin/juke has its own button. The best part is, the controls are entirely unmodifyable. Good shit EA. Now I remember why I quit buying your shit.

Truth be told though, control issues do not keep this from being a fun game (though the jury is still out on weather the lack of Reggie Miller does). The announcer’s still wild, the party game modes are a fun digression, and the boss battles are just the correct ammount of bullshit, plus, online. And for anybody who wasn’t at Alex’s house when we were playing 2v2s, shit gets mad hype.

I’ll still be playing the shit out of this, just as I did on the SNES version back in the day. You want to run some games, go ahead and add me on Live.

Oh god not something I wanted to hear. Any word on using a TE stick with the game and the buttons it would use.

Fucking online SSF4 pisses me off already, but it REALLY pisses me off when I see these assholes rocking the new costumes when the store is fucking busted EVERY TIME I GO IN TO BUY THEM. Fuck Microsoft and fuck Kinect.

My friend was trying on his TE, only problem he ran into was turbo was PPP/KKK, everything else was cool.

EDIT, just to be clear:
Jab: Shoot/Block (Dunk/alley oop with Turbo)
Strong: Teammate shoot/block
Fierce: Unused
PPP: Turbo
Short: Pass
Foward: Spin (Juke with turbo)/Steal (shove with turbo)
Roundhouse: Unused
KKK: Turbo
Might be wrong on one or two (there might be another function on one of the buttons for O/D/off the ball, but those are the buttons I use), but that’s what a TE looks like.

They could always patch the control Scheme. They did that for Fight Night Round 4 I believe after too many complaints. But now it makes sense why no website has a review of the 360 or Ps3 version yet cause EA prolly begged them not to review it.

Lol! And way too true about Fight Night 4. But truthfully, who wants to play Fight Night 4 with buttons instead of the stellar dual analog control scheme? Shit, I need to dust my copy off haha.

I’ll play XIII when it comes out, but it sounds like the console release won’t be for a while (now that it’s finally fucking announced).

Really hope SNK finds the time/resources to tune the game a bit further for console, though. Raiden’s dropkick damage was six kinds of bullshit at least. Mai and Athena both look like fun, though.

EDIT: Fucking fuck C to Shining C. I’ll never be able to get that shit because I can’t even get to C with fucking Ryu of all characters. I’ll never give Ryu shit for being an “easy” character again; Ryu is HARD because EVERYBODY knows how to punish his stupid shit. So fucking infuriating that I bide my time and don’t press buttons when I’m not sure I can execute/not sure what people can do and people can just run all over me mashing shit whenever I hit a button.

I don’t know why but I have a MUCH harder time anti-airing in SSF4 than I do in CVS2. It’s just so much harder to follow people’s jumps when the screen does its dumb little scroll, as opposed to CvS2 where I can see the entire playfield at all times and know SO much faster where my opponent’s trajectory will take him.

The patch helped a bit. Raiden can not dropkick spam anymore and the infinites and glitches were removed. K’ is probably best with Raiden as a close second.

@Ben – Sorry, didn’t check SRK before playing last night. Joined Will from Tampa’s room, and we were joined by CJTruth, Petey Corinthos from Tampa, and Irvyn jumped in as well. CJTruth is no joke! I went like 3-12 against him, or some shit. GGs to all I played last night. I’ll free up some space, I have a bunch of people on my friends list that haven’t been on in well over a year.
