Orlando Pulse Nightclub Shooting: Largest Mass Shooting in US History

The stun gun and exit strategy is a pretty good tactic…some of these chicks advertise as sweet and petite, but are beasts in real life…

This completely boggles my mind. How do you have such a disconnect between “50% of your co-workers” and their muslim identities? How do you perceive these Imam videos as some kind of “normal” as opposed to the multiple ones you ACTUALLY KNOW are cool?

This kinda reminds me of white people befriending a “upper class”,“educated”, “articulate” black person, and then after saying something super racist about poor black people who live in projects, say to them:

“Oh, you’re not REALLY black, you don’t count”

To be honest, this super religious bent of the conversation isn’t particularly relevant anyway. It’s pretty obvious the shooter wasn’t super religious, despite him pledging allegiance to various terrorist groups that are currently at war with each other.

Totally dude.
I went through the baptism, communion, confirmation, everything.
My parents said that after I turned 18, I could make my own choice. Didn’t go to church willingly after I turned 18, a few times for Christmas and stuff.
But after I turned 25, I just stopped going to church at all cause I didn’t believe in any of it anymore. My family didn’t even want to pray the last time I came over for xmas dinner, but I told them they can if they want cause I ain’t gonna be a dick to them.

I just wish people would give themselves props for life achievements instead of mystery space father.

Did you know Japan allowed 28 refugees jato the country. 3 of them went and gang raped a Japanese woman.

What’s your excuse for that? These people are a damn liability for the most part, and doing the right thing puts citizens at risk and leads to massive waste in resources in training them and or harboring them.

Jesus what are you talking about? I swear you make the most off the wall, out of left field comparisons/statements that aren’t even remotely relevant. The shooter wasn’t super religious despite the fact that he pledged himself to various religious fanatic groups? You can keep making excuses for these people, but the truth is that they’re fanatics that have no place in a civilized culture: they are stuck in the Stone Age

Hmm now there is a mass stabbing that occurred in PA. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/stabbings-reported-pennsylvania-high-school-article-1.1750425 Thankfully no fatalities. But just goes to show, gun or not people will find a way to hurt people if they really want to. Like this is out of control. We really need to get to the root cause of this violence.

A gun pretty much guarantees death and it’s easier to kill more people with one.

“Strict gun laws” as opposed to “gun laws” can someone explain the difference?

Strict gun laws means blacks, whites, arabs, browns and latinos don’t get them.
Only Asians without tattoos are allowed cause they rarely shoot up anything.

It’s truly perplexing, as I’ve read many times that the USA is still one of the best places to live from this forum. So just a coincidence.

So do bombs.

Okay, so what’s your point?

Pass more laws, laws that are already in place

Saw the bill o’reily and stephen colbert interview recently, and talked about orlando with my girl a bit. Just the same stuff ive been saying here. Then made the mistake of watching this young turks video “CIA: Orlando Shooter Had No Connection To ISIS”, and turned it off in a couple minutes, because it was too stupid.

Then i scrolled down into the comments, and see a lot of talk about he was just a self hating gay guy, who went crazy. Stop talking ISIS and muslims.

Like i said before, there is this idiotic idea that ISIS is filled with sane, ultra religious people. I dont know why that belief exist. These people are fucking crazy with a capital C. They hate everything. They wouldnt even collaborate with boko haram because they dont like black people. Omar mateen is a typical run of the mill ISIS “member”. Crazy, religious piece of shit that needs meds. No shit he wasnt an “official listed member” of ISIS. Whatever the fuck that would be. Thats the thing about an ideology getting wings. You can be just an angry bipolar dude one day, and ISIS the next. You dont have to sign up, wait for your membership to be cleared, and pass an eye exam to join ISIS. Joining a terrorist group as a sympathizer isnt like signing up for srk. White girls from europe have joined ISIS. Raped and murdered later, but still.

People act like there is a fucking sign up sheet for ISIS. Its the most idiotic thing ive witnessed in this whole orlando thing. **Then they say, well how could he be on the terrorist watch list, and then go buy a semi automatic rifle. **

HE WAS ON THE WATCH LIST 3 YEARS AGO FOR 10 MONTHS. At the time he could not purchase any fucking firearm, and im sure he couldnt fly either. He wasnt convicted of a crime, and was allowed to go back to his normal life. THIS IS AMERICA. Okay, it sucks he turned out to actually be a terrorist piece of shit, but you cant just detain american citizens for no reason like that. When it does happen, its illegal, and there are repercussions for that behavior.

Every argument just glosses over the fact that, duhhh, he wasnt convicted of a crime, and what we stand for as a country, is not to just detain people for however long we want because of saying crazy shit out of their mouth.

Sure, we can have a conversation about guns, but quite honestly its a quite simplistic discussion to have, that is just made overly complicated. But once we’re done talking about banning semi automatic rifles, which means nothing to criminals and terrorist, can we discuss the 10 other things that also lead to this shit. Up to and including a stupid piece of shit wife who didnt report her husband to the authorities, which could have avoided the largest mass shooting in AMERICAN HISTORY.

**Omar matten couldve just killed a bunch of gay people on his own. He couldve praised purple jesus before he did the crime, but he didnt. He specifically pledged allegiance to ISIS before doing this, and people are acting like that meant nothing. That he was actually just a repressed gay guy, who was homophobic, and run of the mill crazy as fuck. His belief system, or pledge to one of the most disgusting terrorist groups in the world means nothing. Okay
**

Of course omar mateen was suspended for cheering during 9/11. OF COURSE

Is he still just a repressed gay homophobe, or a fucking radical islamic terrorist who has been sympathizing with terrorist since he was a fucking kid.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/orlando-shooter-omar-mateen-was-suspended-for-cheering-911-and-beating-another-student-in-high-school-015839725.html

I thought it was obvious from the get go that the left was going to spin this as the work of “an individual whose mind was destablized by his own innate homosexuality being suppressed by society… who just happened to be Muslim”.

Islam is the new S tier of bulletproof.

So homosexuality has to be the bad guy, despite this being an actual, severe wronging of homosexuals.

Albeit it will be cast as ultimately society’s fault, for not accepting homosexuals, which is a very true, very real flaw, but a Mcguffin in this instance, and all will go back into its feedback loop of denying the white elephant in the room.

Not the Tumblrrrrrrs.

Those are still the unbalanced, inexplicably unbanned Elphets in the room.

The other one.

Maybe this will finally bring about a real third party, that treats of a sensible leftish-centrism.

Shit sucks.

You keep on using this logic that as long as you can show since “some of X people are bad, all X people are bad.” and it just doesn’t work.

I’m surprised Japan let in any refugees at all, especially young males. If you wanna talk risk factors? If I’m picking and choosing, I pick married couples with young children, women, and orphaned children.

If it wasn’t for immigrants and refugees, none of our asses would be here, so unless you’re Native American, probably best keep your mouth shut, right?

“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

-His ex wife testified that he wasn’t super religious.

  • His father (crazy as he is) also says he wasn’t very religious
  • Mateen claims for ISIS, but co-workers in 2013 said he claimed to be a member of Hezbollah. Hezbollah supports Assad and is at war with ISIS.
-Mateen’s father is from Afghanistan, and has made comments being pro-Taliban. THey’re both from an area that a lot of the Taliban are from originally. Taliban are related to al-Qaeda, and both are at odds with ISIS.
  • In the phone call to 911, Mateen mentions the boston bombings, even though the Tsarnaev’s are Chechen who were inspired by al-Qaeda.
  • He’s most likely gay and acted on it, being a recognizable customer at pulse and on several gay dating apps. Seems a little far to go for a super religous dude who wanted to case out potential targets for opposition research. Pretty sure the whole 72 virgin deal is ruled out when you have some gay sex.

Basically, it doesn’t even seem like the dude knew the difference between the different terrorist factions of Islam, and how they aren’t the same sect of relgion and currently are at war with each other. He just kinda claimed them all.

We’ll know more facts as they come out. This guy was fucked up for sure. Apparently he was suspended from middle/high school multiple times for being supportive of 9/11 bombings, which Donald Trump must be estastic about. “See! I told you there was one!” It also could be that he identified with the political motivations and machinations of terrorist groups without having been super religious before.

But this seems way different than San Bernardino.

Clearly it was because he was gay, and was angry over the unavoidable loss of his gloryhole in Building 7.

@Renegade

I made this post a while back, but while omar mateen was obviously crazy amongst many other things, he was pretty religious.

He took 2 trips for a 10 day pilgrimage in saudi arabia as a muslim before even his FBI investigation. You dont do that as a non religious person. People have noted he got more religious after his first divorce. We now know he was even sympathetic to terrorist during 9/11 as a teenager.

But the point above all else, is that he didnt have to claim anything if this was just him being angry at gays. He couldve claimed his allegiance to a pink unicorn, but he didnt. He pledged his allegiance to ISIS. This idea that you have to have an actual track record a mile long of how muslim you are to be considered a radical islamic terrorist is stupid. Its just not how islamic terrorism works in the first place.

This notion that, well he wasnt on the FBI’s “official list of ISIS terrorist”, so therefore, dont blame ISIS for this, is fucking mindblowingly stupid. As if ISIS is filled with terrorist who are very well informed about the other varying terrorist groups, and have a vanilla folder of their radical islamic achievements to prove their radicalness.

It was obvious he was not a longstanding OG in ISIS in the first 14 hours. That doesnt negate the reality of his islamic extremism. There are homos in isis fucking young men right now. Not to long ago there was the story of one of their leaders fucking a dude or something, and they killed the dude, because he was the homo for getting raped, not the guy raping him was a homo.

I feel we’re all talking in circles here.

We can disagree on interpretations of how religious or how radical this dude was as opposed to or coupled with how insane he got. That’s fine. The stuff about his middle school declarations just came out. His dad being nuts is being looked into. Obviously, the communication between the wife and him is being kept under wraps, because as it stands, she could be looking at real jail time. These are all important factors to making definitive conclusions about what his motivations were. You guys think its obvious, I think its pretty cloudy because of crazy. He didn’t say “purple jesus”, but maybe he was at that point, I dunno. I could be very wrong, y’all could be very wrong. Radical Islam is DEFINITELY a motivating factor, I’m not denying that.

It’s pretty obvious that his declaration is basically him saying “I agree with ISIS”, and isn’t some coordinated terror attack, or that he ever met someone from ISIS before.

I agree ISIS is fucking awful, needs to be dealt with. I don’t sugarcoat them, excuse them, or say they’re awesome. I just have the abillity to separate “ISIS” from “Islam”, and it seems I’m the only person left posting who can make that distinction.

My preferred path to deal with ISIS is to address it as a problem “of a minority within Islam, that is mostly at war with other Muslims”, and not say “Islam is the problem”. Because without muslim allies and moderates, its our boys and girls dying over there again, and fuck that shit.

I’ve been to the sandbox as a contractor. I’ve been on a base being mortared by these fucks. Not a fucking fan of them. I also knew a lot of soliders, allies, translators, and workers who were on our side, too. It helps your perspective a lot.
