w00t new thread… does this mean a round of neg rep Anthony?
What’s up guys, new blood here. Never played a 2d capcom-esque fighter before, so i’m completely new to the scene. I recently got interested due to the release of SF4 and now i’m looking for a group of guys I can ultimately get owned by so that I can get better and be able to understand both the technical and mental aspect of the game.
Trent may not remember me, but i’m fairly certain it’s the same Trent that I played Super Smash Bros Melee with a while back. That’s just about the only thing i’ve got going for me. A few of these names I recognize, like Enkindu for instance, because I recall him being mildly interested in the Tekken and VF scene for a while with my brother, Blondie/blonde_one.
To make a long intro short, it’s a pleasure to meet you all. Hopefully i’ll be able to play you guys and get better in the near future.

You played with Trent in Melee? I used to be on Smashboards all the time and ended up getting together with a guy by the name of Cordell/Luigi_Factor, and we practiced a lot at both his and my houses during my high school years. Trent’s damn jiggly always jacked me up.

Hey, everyone. Been playing fighting games for a while but I figured I would try and step up my game a bit. I may have played with some of you recently at the Hard Knocks tourney but I didn’t get around all that much. Much like Spify, I’m just looking for a group of people to play with, in hopes of getting better.
Being there was even better. Hilarious.
i went to the hard knocks tourny yesterday and got knocked out in the first round

who won at hardknocks and was it worth it for 15 dollars and single elimination

This was the best match of Final Round. Kensou beat half of the New York crew. Crazy ass Viper.

Trent showed up to the HK tournament and won, for those of you who didn’t check the results thread. I actually got 2nd. He played Balrog up until the final round against me, then switched into Zangief. I was playing Viper the whole day. Part of me died a little inside.
That video was pretty intense. I know that I can pull combos like that, I just need to work on my nerves. And learn how to fight Zangief.
You guys can all do me a favor on Friday by helping me learn how to fight Zangief and Honda. They’re my worst match-ups by far and I really want to carry Viper all the way.

I’ll come over to play a bit if you’ve seriously got nothing else to do. Might as well work on my Viper one step at a time. I also need to test the new hotness I’m trying.
And for those who are wondering more about the HK tournament, there was a surprise cash prize for the winner. I don’t know the full story, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but Trent didn’t really care for the prizes HK had to offer, so apparently they gave him the net value in cash. He got $140, which I would think is well worth it.

My Fav part is basically they wouldn’t let you guys play anything after you lost your One match if you did, so they took your 15 bucks and said have a nice day thanks for showing up.
