Well, since we’re kinda waiting on responses for possible Salem venues, what all would Salemites feel like playing if/when we got a local fight club thing going? (I know, I’m breaking rules 1 and 2.)
I’m guessing a lot of folks would be wanting to throw down SF4, but I personally would really like to throw down some Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and especially Garou.
I’m only really interested in SF4, but if we were meeting weekly or every other week I would partake in these games and get to learn them (at least give them a shot).
I played a little guilty gear, sol badguy is dope.
Lol. Should have phrased that better.
I will happily play the vast majority of fighting games out there. SF4 included. I just have more of a preference towards the above 3, and would love to see those get thrown in at least every so often. =) I’m especially hoping to see some action for Garou, since it seems to be not quite as well known as others, but is quite the amazing and solid fighter. If I can even just get people to at least try it out, mission accomplished!
I’m actually really excited about SSF4. I got frustrated as all hell with the general gameplay style of SF4, since it feels very defense oriented. There’s talk though that SSF4 is getting shifted towards being a lot more aggressive (at least from before), so I imagine this’ll revitalize at least my own interest in playing. =P
yeah ive heard from Seth(i think) that it plays a little more aggressive, and that alot of the FAs are getting frame tweaks most likely to make them faster.
I just got home.
while some of the unhungry people slept at some point, Mak and I were fucking plyaing SF4 all night.
I feel horribad @_@.
So yeah…been home for a while…note to self…3 24oz rockstars…never…drink…again.
god damn you people are nuts. if i tried to play for that long id probly go cross eyed or something. thats not even in the hunger ballpark anymore lol
There was no where left to sleep as the couch, chair and bench seat thing were taken. Only thing left were the chairs and I sure as fuck wasn’t sleeping on those.
So I fucking played that shit til we left lol.
Also fuck claw, fuck Makinzie.
Dude, those gauntlets were awesome and I think really helped my game. Thanks ya’ll
We arent hungry around here. We are starvin like marvin!
Hopefully we get multiple set ups, then this wouldn’t even be a problem, SF4 is fun and I’ll play for hours on end, but having some variety is always nice ya know?
I’d give the other games a shot.
Right now the only other game that I’ve looked at recently that I’d really like to dive into is BlazBlue, partly because it’ll see iterations and probably become a game played competitively. I heard it was hella broken though (Carl 100% combos and such.) I’ll try out Garou though.
And as for you hungry bastards in P-town; that isn’t hunger, that’s gluttony.
I was really NOT hungry when I got home…=/
I bet. I wish I had a community of fighting game players like this when I was in college; I totally would have went on Street Fighter all-nighters.
No…its more like…3 24oz rockstars with no food
You’re definitely getting better imo.
I think you just have to guess a little better.
I’m not gonna lie I was straight up pretending to mash a few times to bait dp and you fell for it. sometimes listening to people mash is a good way to play…I guess? Othertimes people will just hit some buttons or move their stick really loud for a sec to get you to do wakeup dp.
MIND GAMES SON.
If this garou is the one I can be a dog in, I will drive down and play with you guys.
Ninja dog, bitches. Ninja dog.
Wait, you can be a dog in Garou? I’m totally in then. I use to LOVE being the pug Iggy in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Anytime you dry hump another player’s face in a fighting game and pee on them you should.
I almost wonder if Panda is talking about the Werewolf pen & paper roleplaying game. That’s the only thing I know of with Garou and where you can “be a dog” =P
The Garou I was speaking about was Garou: Mark of the Wolves. It’s pretty much the last title in the Fatal Fury series, and a real solid fighter to boot. There aren’t that many familiar faces you’d recognize from other SNK games, since the Garou characters apparently weren’t popular enough to make returns. (Except for Hotaru and Rock Howard in some of the crossovers I believe)
The thing that initially caught me with Garou was just how bloody smooth the graphics are. I’m not even saying hi-res or anything (because they’re a fair bit pixelated) but moreso how fluid the animations are. It’s a real eye catcher. Afterwards I put time in and realized there was some good stuff system wise. (Just Defense can be compared to parrying in SF3, as well as Breaks which one could sorta relate to roman cancels in guilty gear.
For the SNK fans, if I recall correctly this was the game where Terry actually started using BUSTAH WULF. No playable dog though. At least that I’m aware of. . . O.o
