^-- That’s horrible. Half the people for our tournament showed up after 2PM. (I showed up at 1:59 myself.) Sorry that happened to both of you.
I personally made it to the tourney at about 1.57 pm, but some people were playing and the manager was taking a while setting up things so being there a few minutes after 2 was OK. Overall it was good times, and yes, the pads were horrible on the kiosks. I messed up enough of my moves more often than not.
Either way, good luck to those who made it to the next round.
Well, it ALMOST went this way.
Despite being only a 9-man tournament at Silverdale, we had a couple celebrities in the crowd. One of them, Corey “Rey” Lewis: he’s a good friend of mine and we went to high school together, perhaps you’ve seen his work. The other? An old schooler…like HF old schooler; seemed kind of unassuming and I’m not sure if he wants me to name drop, but yeah. If he sees this post, he’ll say what’s up. Good to meet you, man. Crazy that you found yourself in this neck of the woods.
I’m not sure what got me eliminated: the jumping scrubby Sagat randomness that my Rufus had no answer for, or the horrible controllers that didn’t walk forward or backward properly.
Anyway, headbands went to my brother Francis (Sim), and that old schooler (…Boxer, Claw ). They had a Round Robin because there were three finalists going into the end. Francis won 2-0, Boxer/Claw 1-1, Adam 0-2
I’m driving Francis to Lakewood next week. Sounds like fun. If any of you guys are headed that way, see ya there!
Oh, and if anybody wants to sell their (yellow) headband or wristbands, I’m buying just on principle.
