well it certainly did one of those!!
Lolz, Third Strike isn’t “his life’s work”, like he claimed this upcoming project will be.
I don’t know what you’re talking about either.
Meh, I’d rather have a Street Fighter Alpha 3 Triple Upper for XBLA/PSN. It’s about time we had a new version of Alpha 3 for modern console, what’s the point in putting fighting games on the PSP? They’re meant for the consoles.
Namco vs Capcom
Ono said it was his life’s work? Interesting: There are several rumored candidates-SFA4, Tekken vs SF, Darkstalkers, or some brand new IP? Who knows? But-----
Out of curiousity if it was to be darkstalkers…“if it was”…did Ono ever say before hand that he like Darkstalkers better than SF? Cuz I don’t know if I missed that or not. Or has he mentioned any other franchises that he like better than SF?
Oh, there can be no denying that Ono is definitely a Vampire/Darkstalkers fan boy, and that he has been jonesing to make a new title real for a long time now. That’s why a lot of the initial speculation (from his interview with Inafune a few weeks ago going well) have been pointing heavily to a new Darkstalkers. And until we get proof to the contrary, it still leans heavily that way…
I’m really hoping a new Darkstalkers is in the horizon. If not now (the game they are going to announce) then in the near future. It’s about time for Jedah and B.B. Hood/Bulleta to make a triumphant comeback.
Looks like Evil Ryu next to the SF4 Art style in the pic to me. It’s probably just teasing the DLC alpha characters, and not related to the new game announcement.

I will be ten different kinds of astonished if this isn’t just DLC characters or a new VS. And if you look at it from which most the most sense (money) for capcom it’s DLC characters. Those costume packs made capcom some serious bank, and DLC characters are pretty much an automatic buy for anyone interested in playing this game. But honestly I think both of these things will happen at some point. Also no way it SF5 waaaaay to early for that at least two more years of DLC before that happens.
Umm I know that quote wasn’t the riddle. The picture clue presented the riddle. Hope that clears that. Also I don’t think SF is going anywhere, nor do I see how you got that from my post. Also I think your exaggerating a bit on the “hype”. I’m “hyped” (to put it in your terms) because I want it to be an old game revised i.e “DS”, “Puzzle fighter” etc… I can’t believe people are making a fuss over my opinion and this thread. I don’t understand what’s going on fully. I feel like I’m being jumped here ;p by like 3 people, lol. Sup wit dat!
Umm how did 3s kill the fighting genre? People kill genres not games. Now we actually have outlets to allow our voices to be heard. I know for a fact that 3s didn’t ruin a damn thing. Complaining ruin the genre. People whining about “Oh parry is so broken”. No! It’s not any more broke that Focus attack, Burst, or JD. This are just system to help players deal with truely broken things. For instance, the hit stun combos are BS. I don’t want anyone says a THREE HIT STUN COMBO is BS! Without a doubt. Ol skool basically tells you. If you f up once your done. Now I don’t mind this, why? I just get better. If people would just get better, I’m sure everyone would love 3s and realize it’s one of the more detailed games along with A2/A3, CvS2, and Marvel of course. This my opinion.
Honestly what makes a game bad to you, or what about 3s ruined the genre. Please don’t say parry.
That would be cool. I think we should form some kinda unit and try to figure a way to actually make this possible. Ono-san wants to put fighters back where they once were, and also help America have a passion equal to Japans. At least that’s how it seems to me.
^
What makes a game bad is what makes people not want to get and even if one person gets it, everything is still bad unless everyone wants to own it. As for the game, I can’t really say I care anymore, it either has to have good gameplay or look better than Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm… because we all know most SF fans also like anime more than gameplay.

Not so much as discouraged, most normal people just got sick of getting the same damn thing over and over again. Its been a decade so that is why its out again to try it on the new and whatever is remaining of die hard fans. That and no one knew how to play the game because it wasn’t as simple as SF2, and by simple I mean awkward moves and input for them.

I’m pretty sure if Capcom was capable of making a different game, they would’ve done so a long time ago.

Gamers shouldn’t look for what some random joe is intending for… The random joe should make what he was intending for what he expects that the people want, and by that I don’t mean random guessing.
Who said a damn thing about good or bad? We’re talking about finance. Money money money baby. Street Fighter 3 was a major flop that discouraged Capcom from making fighting games.
Well I think once you get enough money off one project you use that to fund a new project. So it would make sense to use the money earned from “SFIV” to start building new projects. I’m sure Capcom sees Ono-san and his team have what it takes to bring “SF” back from the dead. I mean Capcom made it clear like 4 years ago that CFJ was suppose to be their last fighting game, but like Jordan you always come back to what you know; to what made you. Plus trends always go away and come back. We are in era where vintage is hip now! By America being big buyers in vintage things now. I think it’s smart for Capcom to want to branch out and revive games to appeal to the new generation of players; and bring back that vintage feel. It only makes sense.
Umm I think most Fighting enthusiast enjoy the fact that it’s a one on one match. Not just that’s it’s design is a derivative of Anime. Also I don’t think that makes a game bad, because a lot of games were called bad until people really look for what the creator was intending for.
Your discombobulated, I’m not even going to waste my time on this one.
No I’m not confused. You’re in denial of how important a game being a financial success is.
