I dont know how you came to that conlusion based on what CStatic said, but that wasnt what he was saying. He said that feedback could force a more radical change than necessary. He didnt say that there wouldnt be any changes. Learn to read.

I just got the 17th ranked Yun on PSN. Didn’t even bother to fight him, not worth it to work 10x harder and still lose. I messaged him and told him to not bother joining my games anymore and I’d like to see how good he’s going to be in 2012. This was his response:

I play on PC. Small community but i alt yun along with guy, oni, and evil ryu, and main Akuma. I have pretty high bp with yun and shit is it hard to play online because people will quit or send you oodles of hatemail, haha. Man I’m not even that great with Yun and hes not my main!
I think it’s just become popular to be a cry baby. I’ve never used yun because I don’t like his rhythm or impersonal nature, but I’d feel like a pretty huge bitch if I was afraid to fight a certain character in the game. there’s a lot less shame in using yun than there is in avoiding/crying about him. sure he is a bit simple to use but ffs, some of you act like you’re facing super saiyin shin akuma.
here’s a thought, if a matchup is 6-4 in a characters favor, you will only see 6-4 results between players of equal skill. if some is using yun, and you’re a better player using a character that’s a 4-6 dog, you should still be winning more than half the time. I’m not even good at this game yet and believe me I have been frustrated by plenty of yuns…but notice you pretty much never hear the best crying about stupid shit, because while folks were crying about stupid shit they were becoming the best. either man up and get it done or accept permanent mediocrity.
I used to be one of the ppl raging over Yun being OP until I decided to play him in order to get a higher understanding of the character so I looked up some info and even watched the Cross Counter guide which is about 2hrs long before taking him online. After about 1hr of playing I was already telling myself “this character is complete garbage” all his moves are unsafe and I’m so free on wake-up also I was expecting that getting in on my opponent would be completely easy but that was not the case. I play Viper and she is also pretty free on wake up but I was still more afraid of getting knocked down as Yun, I felt completely helpless. It’s been a couple days since I started playing Yun and now that I feel I’m descent with him I know first hand that he is definitely a strong character but I still feel like I’m earning my wins and not just doing bs crap that always works like some ppl think. I do though agree that he has some bs stuff like crossup shoulder and it has so many setups its ridiculous and of course he can also do a non-crossup shoulder for a 50/50.
Anyway I just think ppl need to actually play the character or have some experience using him before they start raging about how broken the character is when hes not. I think most the hate comes from playing online scrubs who just spam all his moves like their all safe and shit which is annoying to deal with and the fact that one of those random moves will hit which lets them get in on some bs also the fact that a lot of these scrubs have a lot of bp and decent pp which at least for me annoys me even more knowing that they think their good. Another thing that I think annoys a lot of ppl is fighting a Yun that relies completely on Genei Jin to win and cant win without it. One thing that will always piss me off though is Genei Jin resets god I hate them, I start panicking every time I get hit by it from fear of getting caught in a reset into an instant KO.

Try playing a character that doesnt have DP’ish move and then come back, cuz you clearly dont know what bad defence is. I play Viper myself and she feels exceptionally powerfull on wake-up with her EX seismo and Fierce T knuckle (and burn kicks to avoid all grabs and low attacks). Try getting knocked down as Cody vs Yun and you will know true despair.

Viper does have bad wake-up but is she completely free on wake-up? not at all. She has options but most have some kinda risk, if the opponent does a low attack that lowers their hitbox enough it will cause her fp.tk to whiff and as for bk and ex.seismo they get killed by OS also she can be grabbed out of her fp.tk so she has to pretty much guess, she is not exceptionally powerful on wake-up as you stated but she isn’t free either.
I also play Cody, Sakura, Rose, Chun-li, Abel, Gen, and Dudley so I have my fair share of bad wake-up experience.

She does not have bad wake-up she has ok wake-up.
Edit: Ok my bad I see that I did say that which was a mistake, I don’t mean she’s like complete garbage on wake-up I was trying to say she just doesn’t have this exceptionable wake-up that can get her out of almost everything. She definitely has good wake-up I was just only thinking of her vs a shoto instead of the whole cast so again my bad for saying stuff before thinking.
My favorite part is that AE has only been out for 6 months and people’s errant bitching has secured the favor of Mommy Capcom.
All these whiners weren’t there when 3S came out and Chun Li, Denjin Ryu, and Ken were dominant for well over a year before things started to pan out (Urien being discovered, people figuring out Makoto, Yun 7-3 Chun Li). I think it’s hilarious that people are rooting for characters that the Japanese are calling flat out broken, and won’t mind when they become the new oppressively top tiers. It’s amazing that in Japan, they think Adon is quite powerful, and there’s a growing community of players over there discovering his crap. Yet if you go to the Adon forums, it’s the second biggest wall of bitch on Shoryuken (first being the Vega section). The sudden group of previously-silent-cody-players also make me chuckle.
