Oni Akuma has the most craziest & epic fireball move I have ever seen in a fighting game, it’s just crazy.
Evil Ryus character design bores the hell out of me. I hope he’s not superior to Akuma in every single important aspect. I’d hate to jump ship to a character who looks so dull and will be used by absolutely everyone online.

Well alreay these characters are a complete failure from a design perspective as far as my impression goes. I finally thought Capcom was gonna show Akuma a little love, but instead they put his face on an overweight Gouken build and gave everything to Evil Ryu.
The hype is dead.
Btw, I noticed in part of one of the vids. Oni did a point blank Super (Demon) and it was jumpable.
As an Akuma player does anyone else feel insulted by these characters. This is a bit of a heated response/reaction I had after seeing these characters and some of the things they could and couldn’t do and idk here’s my kneejerk but as I say and have stated, as an Akuma player I feel insulted by there inclusion but still feel that Akuma is better than both of them.

So does he even have a light tatsumaki? Haven’t seen one. I’m wondering if he still has his bread n butter because out of the 10 or so videos I’ve seen I haven’t seen him do it, though Evil Ryu does. It looks more like Oni is an amalgamation of Gouken, Yang and Akuma all thrown in a blender. He looks the most like Gouken actually… Goukuma!
His ultra animations look sick though. I’m thinking of making the switch from Akuma to Oni what with the high HP, similar style, and overall cool aesthetic. I am so reckless with Akuma and try too hard for fancy combos and usually eat it, and maybe without all the risky things like whiffed roundhouses I might play smarter lol…

No it hits into full ultra non animation fireball, I’m pretty sure the animation does more damage.

I don’t think I’ve seen the full animation of the fireball. I didn’t even know it existed. Thought it was more like Ryu’s Metsu type of deal.

I’ll speculate now that I doubt Oni would make it past high tier at this point. He’s based on a Gouken-esque build which was never fundamentally sound to begin with. If he’s good it’ll be through exploiting properties and cheesy stuff like that, rather than basic solid play. He fits right in with the other SSF4 additions like Cody and such.
Ok, I’m not gonna lie though… regardless of whatever flaws these characters have in their gameplay and metagames. The aesthetics of their ultras, especially Oni’s… are fucking GAHTLAIKE.
Lol @ people actually wanting Oni Akuma to play like regular Akuma does. Screw that. A new character completely is not what i expected, but it was what I wanted. It’s what we got, so I’m good. I like Akuma as a character in general, so I’m excited to use his “Oni” form even if he plays nothing like Akuma.
secondary status for sure. Gonna use him if he does better in a particular match up than Akuma does. Prolly E.Ryu and Ibuki on the side.

Definitely sticking wit the Kumz, but leaning towards E.ryu a little… that man looks too fun.
