I did check one of them out. Kinda cheesy, but I liked it. Don’t expect too much out of it, and you should be happy. No idea if I’m gonna get the game or not. If it’s another button masher, I might skip. There’s no shortage of those one the planet after all.

Nope. Please research this before you evaluate it. This has one of the deepest and most fluid combat systems,
yes you can say the “mainstream” stylish action games are deeper, but this is no button masher.
Of course with any stylish action game you can mash, but Z2 Chaos has enough technical and mechanical gameplay depth to
really interest the most hardcore stylish action gamers that demand a lot of options and input challenge that rewards more
amazing attacks. It makes Lollipop Chainsaw look like a $60 overpriced demo.
And Onechanbara is going to sell for only $50 new when it gets localized this summer and it has lots of unlockables and
lots of variety included.

It’s kind of like if they combined the genius of the deep fluid action games with the cosmic lunacy of Touhou intense action eye candy. I have the JP version. Game is pretty bad. I’ve never played a game in the series but I think it started on the Dreamcast and it still looks like a Dreamcast game.

Anyways the artbook is 80 pages? I thought it was just gonna be some 20 page pamphlet. XD
Some importers actually are saying it’s better than it looks. Also the series didn’t start on Dreamcast. It started on Playstation 2.
And Dreamcast would not be able to handle these graphics, especially at 60 frames per second.
it struggles to even run Resident Evil Code Veronica with the few enemies it has, and less blood/gore than earlier REs.
I would say the graphics should be compared more to games like Dynasty Warriors, which drop AAA graphics in favor of
greater enemy count, beat 'em up action, and more customization. And Onechanbara has blood and gore to process on top of the fast paced action, enemy hordes and effects.
The only downside to Z2 Chaos is the lack of co-op, but they probably didn’t have a budget to both improve the gameplay
and develop for PS4, while adding online co-op. Bikini Samurai Squad/Vortex had it because that wasn’t as much emphasis on improving graphics and combat mechanics, like how Z Kagura did to reinvent the wheel, while Z2 Chaos refines things further.
The series still has room to improve, but it’s really not the same shallow gameplay the series was back then. 
I would say if people enjoyed games like God of War, Bayonetta, Lollipop Chainsaw, DMC, TMNT, and Metal Gear Rising, they can like this too.
