Well would something like F. MP xx C. Jab xx F. MK be possible? Since F. MK puts you at frame advantage I imagine this would be viable whether it hits or is blocked. Also, I was thinking of incorporating F. MP because it seemed to have a little more range than F. MK. I didn’t get a chance to test the ranges though. Just kinda felt that way.
Why did you say cr.mp ~ cr.lk doesn’t work?Cr.mp is +4, and cr.lk has 4 frame startup.I mean it should totally work according to framedata.Is it a hitbox issue or something?
I tried for a loooong time, I tried normally linking, double tapping, and using turbo, but I couldn’t hit it once. I’ll try a few more times before I crash, but I didn’t manage to make it work.
It’s character specific… don’t ask me how that makes sense.
I can pull it off like 50% of the time double tapping on Sim and Sagat but I can’t hit it on Ryu.
Someone else try to hit cr.mp, cr.lk on Ryu, check that for me.
EDIT: Kept testing, keep getting the same results. I have the link down to about 75% on Sagat but 0% on Ryu, how does that make any sense that a link is char specific but not range specific?
Maybe the first active frame of the attack is out of range of ryu, so it’s actually hitting on the 2nd active frame? that’s all I can figure, because the cr.lk reaches him he just blocks it.
Found a great AA combo for people who like to jump neutral and spam a safe move on descent (Chunli HK, Zangief Headbutt, Honda j.FP back) out of the range of your supposed Anti-Airs…
AA MK Duck Upper 2 hits 120dmg/200stun
AA MK Duck Upper 1 Hit, HK Duck Straight 160dmg/250stun
This is also excellent for people who like to jump in the corner. Hit em with this, then you can combo into ultra/super/HP DP.
Proving to be very useful, even against Honda’s godly j.FP, even if done late a bit you can hit him on his recovery on the ground for 2hits of MK Duck Upper. Usually you can’t combo HK Duck Straight since he falls fast after one hit, but hey it’s something in this matchup as opposed to some characters who can’t do anything.
It would look cool, but taking that damage and giving a bit more in return…not worth it imo. If only the damage taken was focus-like. And yeah if they didn’t do a move, you’re wide open for punish.
was wondering if anyone could help me out, was trying dudley’s trials and hit a wall in number 16, its basically j. hp, cr. mp, jet upper, but i just cant link cr. mp to his upper
anyone know what the timing is for it? i can only do it sometimes when i start the cr. mp
So theres this corner juggle i’ve been working on. I just want to see if you guys think it’s a viable option since let’s face it, his juggle game isn’t what it used to be.
Basically in the corner it’s Cr.HK -> M.MGB - > Super (19 hits, and 476 dmg). Definitely adds to my corner game.
Doesn’t Cr. HK x3 do more damage? Definitely worth it though if you aren’t confident in your links. Course, if you’re trying to be safe you’d just start with cr. short but juggles are what pleases the crowd.
