ex mgb, lk ducking hp straight, lp mgb.
So, using a different strength P on any ducking actually makes a difference?! Weird, but good to know!
Thanks.
I must test that.
Bones Edit: no difference.
There’s no difference.
LK Ducking Straight to LP MGB is really tight. You have to do the straight on time so you recover soon enough to land the LP MGB.
Ok, gotcha, I thought that was kinda weird, just really tight timing, no problem, just gotta hit training mode harder! I just wasnt sure if I was missing something or that my timing was a bit off. (didnt want to spend hours and hours trying something that wasnt actually possible, lol.)
Just to be clear, it ONLY works with LP mgb? Like no point in trying for the MP or HP ones?
No because Dudley will just run passed them. So the dummy will fall behind Dudley. I will try this method when I get on in a few hours, but I used a similiar method that got me 680.
j.HP, c.HP, s.HK, EX MGB, lk Duck HP Straight (stun) j.HP, c.HP, s.HK, Ducking Upper, FADC, c.lp (x2), s.HK, EX MGB, cr.RH, U2 (Corkscrew Cross)
I used this one. But now I look back and say I shouldn’t have done the sweep, and should have repeated the lk duck HP straight into Ultra because the duck straight does WAY more damage. That should hit 690+ or 700!! I’m going to redo this tonight.
the strength of the button for the ducking makes a difference in teh distance you travel before the straight comes out. Damage-wise they all do the same damage.
On certain chars lk ducking upper only gets one hit after ex mgb. Timing is more strict on mk ducking as you spend more time in ducking. But if you get it right you get more hits of the ultra, or it could make the difference between the ultra hitting or whiffing.
Ahhhh, I see, so on characters with weird falling hit boxes the strength of punch used can make a difference, good to know. (Like Adon, or Hakan for example?)
Thanks!
Wait, so it’s possible to get the mk duck into HP straight? If so, that should definately fly passed 700 damage.
EDIT: Wait, the duck adds more damage to the straight punches? I’m not in training to find out myself…
all versions of duck straight/upper do the same amount of damage. the only difference is how far you travel before the straight comes out.
i can’t remember who i got one hit off lk duck upper off of, but vs most of the cast i’ve played against lk duck upper works just fine. I’ll have to test in training mode again to see who it got one hit on.
One thing, before the stun where you do your lk duck, it it possible to land a HP Jet Upper or is it too late? Will seth fall because of Dudley’s bad startup jet upper? If you can land this, will it do more damage then duck HP straight since the jet upper won’t hit twice because of Seth’s low stun?
If you haven’t tried it, I’ll test this in about an hour when I get on.
MK Ducking Straight is the Gentleman’s choice. LP MGP is used in 2 situations: On characters who you cannot HP Jet Upper after the Ducking Straight or in the corner because it gets an extra 3rd hit and therefore does more damage than HP Jet Upper.
So thats: st.HK xx EX MGB > MK Ducking Straight > LP MGB/HP Jet Upper/Ultra 2 dependent on situation/character
Okay so I’ve been messing with a combo I saw Marn doing in .
fa.lv3 > f.mk > s.lp > s.mp > s.lp > s.hk xx ex.MGB > cr.hk > U2 383 dmg 503 stun
(fa.lv2 instead does 323 dmg 453 stun)
Its kind of intimidating but its not as hard as it looks. You’ll notice the damage and stun is not that impressive. You can switch up the starting hit, or just start at the f.mk.
j.hp > f.mk 417 dmg 581 stun
f.mk > s.lp (etc.) 364 dmg 444 stun
– This combo when landed successfully lasts for days, it damages your opponents psychologically even if you don’t do very much damage.
– Whiffs on most crouching opponents, so its best used as a FA combo.
– Its character specific, the jabs whiff on characters with small hit boxes, bad news. (cammy, and theres probably others)
– Despite all these negatives this combo is super classy, flashy, and totally worth learning.
Before anyone tears me up I’d like to say I know Marn doesn’t U2 on this combo on purpose because damage scaling ruins the combo. This combo would be best ended with a second cr.RH, and its better to whiff the second cr.RH than to use a damage scale nerfed u2.
If anyone with better execution than me would like to try ending the combo with ex.MGB > mk.ducking straight > ex.JU (or hp upper or u2 or whatever, I don’t know what works since I’m not good at these yet!)
The s. LP s. MP chain can link directly into s. HK, not sure if it’s a 1f link though (probably is). Would that work on the smaller cast?
And just going f. MK s. HK or f. MK s. LP s. HK, although not as flashy, might be better damage/stun wise.
if you replace s.lp s.mp with s.lk, s.mk, the f.mk -> s.lk is a tougher link, but s.lk doesn’t whiff on crouching chars and s.mk after it will stand the other guy up, so the combo is almost universal.
I’ve had s.lp after s.lk, s.mk whiff vs sak, it might have something to do with the hitbox reel that’s making the s.lp whiff. you can go straight into s.rh as well if you want to “keep it simple”.
So far my fav dudley combo is a bnb combo. f.hk, cr lp x2, st hk, ex mgp, ducking upper. I love this combo because it makes my opponents afraid to crouch so I can smack them with cr lk, st mk, into ducking for either a throw or upper. Offline I can do it great but online its usually hit or miss depending on lag spikes and such.
For shits and giggles I love doing this as a combo. f.mk, st lp, st mp, st lp, st hk, ex mgp, ducking upper/straight. Offline I can land this a good amount but online its a bit harder sometimes.
NOOB POST!!!
Anyway, I think people may have done this already so dont flame me too hard LoL.
Mid-Screen to Corner
Toss> Ducking Upper> FADC> U2

if you use ducking straight i dont think you need to use the fadc, you can go straight to the u2
correct, the timing is kinda strict. better because you dont burn meter.
